So ... I feel like an ass but not minutes after I posted this I ran across another dragon and this time I got that bastard's soul. I hope no one else is having this problem but if a moderator happens to read this you can probably go ahead and delete this thread

First, this is not a *censored* fest about Steam breaking my game or how Bethesda released a patch and broke my game. My game has been remarkably stable since release and my thanks go out to Bethesda and even Steam. That said, I have not been able to absorb a single dragon souls since the update. I have killed four or five dragons since updating. I have not added any new mods except updating SKSE after the new patch. I don't have deadly dragons installed either. I kill the dragons and they just sit there in there skin. Its kind of annoying. I know there used to be problems with this before but I thought previous patches had cleared this issue up. Also, my soul trap spells don't seem to work anymore if I get a kill cam. The spell starts to take effect and then just peters out. By that I mean that the sound starts to play and the spell effect starts in but then after a split second it just stops. Soul trap works as perfectly as ever as long as I don't get a kill cam so it seems the triggering of the kill cam stops the soul trap from functioning. Could these two issues be related? Am I just going crazy?

I am with most of you on this one. I don't care what people do. Sometimes its fun to play god and rule the world ... for about fifteen minutes at least then everyone is dead. However, I really would like to make a broken ring or necklace that gives uber stamina regen and carry weight bonus. That would fix the game for me. Then I don't have to fast travel home every time I get too much loot. I can just throw it on and run home ... dungeon crawling the whole way!

I know. I saw this mod the other day and was going to install it today. I love alchemy and it was one of the better mods I had seen. wtf??

A friend of mine told me about his exploit today. It is an alchemy exploit whereby you use fortify restoration potions to enable extreme enchanting and smithing capabilities. I mean thousands of percent increases in little to no time and with no real skill needed in either alchemy or smithing or even enchanting. He things this is the best thing ever. I was almost sad when I saw this. Why on earth would you ever want to break the game like this? I admit I thought it would be cool to make a +carry weight ring or something but that is about it. What do you all think.

@ Scruples ... Thanks. I seemed to have tracked it down to Immersive Enviroment 1.3 (here). Thankfully I was able to unistall then reinstall the mod. I really like it so I was very happy when it worked fine afterwards. Thanks for all the help

Hey guys. I am not sure when this started on my game but now whenever I am indoors I have noticed a strange issue with lighting. If there is a light source with a straight line of sight to my hands and weapons (.ie my body doesn't block the light) I get odd bright white lines surrounding my weapon and arm. Also spider webs go really wonky. Again this only happens indoors and only if the light strikes the front of my body directly. Here is a photo. You can see the spider webs are odd buy also notice my arm and the right side of my ax. The inside of the blade does not have the white lines. Here is a pic. Also you can go to http://i.imgur.com/CIjvA.jpg to see a high res pic of the issue. Any thing you can offer would be appreciated. It doesn't effect game play but its starting to get really annoying

Is anyone else having problems with the new AMD drivers? I tried the 11.11a drivers when they were released and they just crashed skyrim right away. Now the 11.11b drivers are out and immediately upon loading my game the screen started flashing yellow? Not at a constant rate but if I would I would look around it would speed up and if I tabbed into a menu it would speed up. I mean the whole screen would flash yellow. I went back to 11.11 again and things seem to be working fine. Just wondering if any one else had this problem?

What worked for me was to revert to old copies of the TESV.exe and the Skyrim-interface.bsa. I am not sure what files came from that megaupload link but you can get the old versions of these files directly from your computer. First go to steam\steamapps\common\skyrim then right click on TESV.exe. Select properties and then select the "previous versions" tab. After a moment a list will populate with older versions of the .exe file. Select one of them from a week or so ago. Then click on the copy button below. Then you can tell windows where to save a copy of old TESV.exe. I recommend saving this version in a safe place. Who knows what bethesda will do next. Then all you need to do is replace the new broken executable with you old working tesv.exe Second go to steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\data and find: skyrim-interface.bsa. Repeat the process I outlined above. After this you should be good to go. Also some people seem to be having problems with Vals crafting meltdown. If you have this mod you might try uninstalling it. I don't have this installed so I don't know if that will help. Doing the steps with the tesv.exe and the .bsa file fixed my install though. Good luck

Hey guys I found a fix that helped me with my problems maybe it will help you too. The update affected 2 files that I have sniffed out so far : 1. skyrim.exe in the \steam\common\skyrim folder 2. skyrim-interface.bsa in \steam\common\skyrim\data folder If you right click on these files ... properties ... previous version ... you can revert both of them to a previous version. I think most of us have backups of the skyrim.exe but the interface.bsa probably not. replacing the updated interface.bsa with the older one seems to have solved my problems so far. I have posted this under a couple of other threads and it seems to be helping people.
