I used to support Anon, until I realized something - they're no different than those they attack, if not worse by directly violating the rights of those they despise. Self-defense is one thing, vigilance is another, but to exact violence for mere political or philosophical reasoning against someone or something is something that needs to be stopped.

Does anyone think the fight is over...?
How dumb can people be to think it's over and that SCOTUS Chief Justice Roberts entirely ruled in favor of the bill? The majority ruling was that it was unconstitutional on the basis of the Commerce clause that the government tried defending it with while ruling it only slightly constitutional on the basis of it imposing a tax. Ergo, he ruled on the definition of Obamacare and that the government is right to implement it - AS A TAX (which I should add is something that, constitutionally speaking anyways, must be started in the House of Representatives, not Senate), not for any other reason, defeating every argument the Obama regime had that it was anything but a tax.
With the precedent John Roberts put forward, government will have to think long and hard about being able to force people out of inaction since not everything can be an argument of taxes (and Obamacare really isn't a tax according to Obama).
Now it's in the GOP's hands to repeal, but this will not happen because Republicans are also owned by the same elite that own Democrats.
Well, that isn't what I expected.......
So, it seems the government can now legally force folks to buy a commercial product. Nice..... I wonder what's next.... Everyone has to buy a car, so the auto industry well do better? Everyone has to buy a house, so the housing market will recover?? Everyone has to buy oranges, so they will lead a healthier lifestyle?
Read what I stated, John Roberts pulled a fast one on the federal government that can have lasting effects, IF the people are smart about it of course.
No, the fight is far from over. This is only round one.The fight is now dependent on a smart populace.
Okay, I've got a serious question: Have any of you actually read the PPACA – or even a summary of it – before declaring yourselves Internet experts on the subject?Until every single member of Congress has read the bill, there is no credibility in demanding people to read it before commenting on it. Summaries on the other hand are quite useless themselves. There's no reason whatsoever for a transparent government to write a bill anywhere longer than what the average citizen is willing to put up with casually.

Just Cause 2 is open-world? The first few missions make it look like a mission-based game, but with a sandbox environment.
Far Cry 1/2 seem very cheap on steam. How are they graphically?
Just Cause 2 is pretty much a mission-based sandbox. I didn't care for it myself though.
If you have a PS3/360, I'd suggest Red Dead Redemption and Prototype 2. Definitely two of my favorite open-world games.

And yet, nobody cares to notice what sort of messages seeing male characters in games is presenting. How can a young male in this society live up to the model of a gun-toting anti-hero with ripping biceps, or a great warrior who travels long distances and wins impossible fights against evil. What message is it sending women who are expecting to meet this suave man of mystery, but only see the guy that works the drive-thru or spends hours trying to sell insurance over the phone. What we need are games where the roles that characters play are realistically attainable. Less heroic... more country bumpkin. Less handsome... more like they fell from the ugly tree, hit every branch, and decided to climb back up to try the other side. You know... Like how these people are in real life.
Lowered expectations for everyone.
That's what made GTA4 such a great game. You played the role of someone who's face had been bitchsmacked by genetics, and spent most of your time denigrating yourself in the services of just about every a**hole that crossed your path.
Oh wait... being at the bottom of the food chain, not getting the girl, not overcoming some unusual circumstances, or even having to occasionally see yourself as someone grotesquely unattractive doesn't usually lead to an enjoyable gaming experience. That's why most stories are written with epic situations, simplified relationships, and feature characters who either look buff or buxom... Because anything else usually is a pain to play, or just ends up being too drama heavy for the average 13-28 year old male to give a s***.
While there is the issue of most of these games being made in parts of the world where there are long standing sexual standards as part of the core cultural framework, most of these areas couldn't care less about what a few Americans (or even Europeans) think. They make games with busty heroines or play to tropes because sex sells, and the average programmer isn't known to have much real contact with women, let alone have the time or patience to build/maintain a relationship. Nevermind that most women in the world wouldn't want much to do with someone who works 18+ hour days, maintains a minimum level of hygiene, and doesn't earn very much for the effort. Even if someone knows that they're a 2 or a 3, they will still try to hook up with that 6 or 7 and have fantasies about that 8 or 9... Regardless of gender.
The misogynist epidemic probably has a greater tie to the amount of stupid people with an access to share every single thought they have, combined with their own pathetic social skills and changing social dynamics that no longer place men as a prestige class. Male roles are eroding quickly, leaving either ones which are unattainable by most, or ones that very few would want to deal with. I have even seen women joking a number of times that if women ruled the wold, the only suitable place for men would be doing those hard, disgusting jobs, castrated servants, or the lucky few being milked by sperm banks.
Equality is good, but in the process you lose those firm definitions of identity that are necessary for people to find their place in the world. The sexual division of labor didn't occur as an accident, or because of some man deciding to state his importance and make it law. It happened as a product of natural sexual cycles and sex-based development in the brain. The ideal is to have enough freedom for people to have some say in their life, but still have clearly defined roles, both socially and sexually.
Couldn't agree more.
There's nothing wrong with women being portrayed in a video game based on an identity the author wants to portray her as, whether to appeal sexually or not. There's also nothing wrong with you refusing to buy something over that, but there is a problem when you demand that anyone else do the same because of your perception.
It's really just like nudity in a video game and real life - the only people that have a problem with it are those that believe that just because they cannot view a naked body as anything other than sexual that no one else can view a naked body as something non-sexual. But in the case of video games, it's even more ridiculous as video games are first and foremost about the entertainment value.
Ultimately, if you really want to see games catering to YOUR perception of how a female should be, then by all means - go for it and develop your own games - and I won't lie, since I am an adult I'm probably going to refuse to support it just like I don't support games that try to take out the violence when it comes to fighting and war. Hell, if you want to make men into sex toys - go for it - that doesn't mean I'll support you or care for your product either.
P.S. I also don't support equality, not when it means forcing other people to accept your perception on what 'equality' is or isn't. If there can be equality, it either must be voluntary or die.
Edit: so where is the image in the OP's link? I didn't see one. :(

3. Only 2-3 games exclusive to the X360 have ever remotely interested me while every other game I've owned on the X360 if not multi-platform, was available on the PC.
This. i was talking about this with my friend, i was like name exclusives the xbox has... hes like uhhh Gears and Halo and when he couldnt think of anymore he said...thats like 7 games right there. i was like no thats two games with several more copies of the same game. also the only two games that have ever even remotely piqued my interest, but not even close enough to ever get an xbox.
Haha, yeah... I don't think either of those are actually exclusive either as they're almost all available for PC anyways. The only exclusives I really kept my X360 around for were Hexic HD (I still wish I could play the full game on PC), Hexic 2, & Over-G Fighters. (I also only kept it for FFXI for when my computer was broken.)

The PS3 is the only console worth my time this generation.
1. Single-best durable hardware of this generation, hands-down and proven.
2. I've played multiple multi-platform games, and the only ones that have performed or looked better on the 360 were developed by EA.
3. Only 2-3 games exclusive to the X360 have ever remotely interested me while every other game I've owned on the X360 if not multi-platform, was available on the PC.
4. I will not support a console system where a first-party developer calls it the "Gamecube 1.5" system after release.
-
I'll probably get a PSVita next year; thought about getting it a couple months ago until I heard about the whole thing with backwards compatibility since all I wanted it for was to play PSP games.

The way the original Xbox 360's disk tray became jammed every two to five years, I almost couldn't care less if the 360 was banned after all. And with the Rumors that the 720 will destroy used games, The only Xbox that I find decent is the original Xbox. Maybe some of the other Xbox only games like Forza motorsports and Halo will move on to other systems, if the rumor is true.
I'm no fan of the X360, anymore at least, but if the X360 were truly banned, that'd be an extremely bad thing for competition.
-
Yea you got that right the 360 console is now banned in the United states from selling consoles. It might even effect game development to, who knows..
more reason to push that 720 out into the market early eh, unless it needs design changes do to this lawsuit.

Why don't you actually read the article?
WASHINGTON (CN) - The International Trade Commission should ban import of some Microsoft Xbox gaming consoles into the United States because they infringe on Motorola patents, an administrative law judge said. The recommendation is limited to the 4GB and 250GB versions of the Xbox 360 S console. It is very specific.
It's not banned... that article, and all others, say that a judge, a single judge, recommended that it be banned. That doesn't mean it WAS banned.
Not only that, but the decision making powers rests with very few people in the ITC. Like 5 or 6 people in total. That judge is not one of them. Furthermore, most recommendations by judges in the ITC are hardly ever taken into consideration.
So in short, it's not banned.
Thank you.
It is banned from sales in the USA, the judge didn't recommend it, he ORDERED it. According to websites based out of the US, the 360 is no longer in inventory and 96% of my google search results are my sources.
Again....

It would be quite interesting to see them talking to a female soldier like that...
Yeah, there's a medical technique to prevent someone bleeding out if they lose a leg, whack 'em in the nuts. I expect some soldiers might give the offender a refresher course.
Yup, exactly.
-
How many people realize it's been possible since the PS3/X360 came out? That this was even possible during the PS2/Xbox days?
Well it doesn't seem likely to happen as it's already so easily possible. They don't even have to issue a firmware update, either.

What do you mean "the PC's own jail cell"? The PC has no jail cell. You obviously have a mod installed that assigns you to one, so maybe you should list those you have so people can get some kind of idea what is going wrong, here.
What I mean is a jail cell the PC gets thrown in which consists of the bed, dresser, and dead prisoner stuff, which in the specific case was the jail cell in Whiterun.
@eodx9000, 'PC's own jail cell' are you talking about a weird '+' or cross shaped room?looks something like this: http://steamcommunit...4536?tab=publicif you found Faendal in there using player.moveto, that's a game cleanup cell that holds bodies of NPC's that died.console command: 'coc WIDeadBodyCleanupCell' can teleport you there (use 'coc riverwood' or other location to teleport back out)if my guess is right, poor Faendal probably met his demise at the hands of a bandit/dragon/hostile without you witnessing it, you can resurrect Faendal (if he's dead) and then use a console command to teleport him back out of there (Faendal's Ref ID: 0001348C).Suggest setting followers with essential status so this kinda thing doesn't happen.if i'm totally off about all the above, maybe Faendal was observed-caught trepassing/stealing with you somewhere?Yeah, unfortunately you are off. I know what the cleanup cell looks like. I'm not sure I could replicate the issue since I told Faeldan to go back home or whatever, but I'll try. (Also I have a mod that makes followers essential, I think it's U.F.O.)
Yeah, no-go on the replication since he's at his home now. lol

Interesting, I may just hold off on some of my computer upgrades to get the DDR4 coming out.
-
Just another reason to get rid of the Republocratic system altogether and allow people to live voluntarily unto themselves.
-
So somehow I lost one of my NPC followers (Faendal), and decided to do do the easiest thing to find said NPC (player.moveto console command) and I found him in the PC's own jail cell. Would anyone happen to know why?

Modded? Skyrim.
Non-modded? Can't choose just one, but...
Final Fantasy VIII, X, XI, & XIII-2
Morrowind (when it came out, now? I doubt it unless Bethesda totally remakes it with Skyrim's engine at least...)
The Legend of Dragoon
Xenogears
Star Ocean 3: Till the End of Time
Demon/Dark Souls

Firstly, is there a source for this?
Secondly, I say it's about time if true.
companies cant sell games online (Steam) cheaper then they do physical copies. while it may in fact be cheaper for them, if they sold online copies cheaper, people wouldnt go to brick and morter stores and more, and it would hurt them a ton. and gaming companies cant do that or they wont be sold in retail at all any more, and that would hurt sales even more.
If they sold online copies cheaper, it wouldn't stop me from preferring to buying physical copies and I know I'm not the only one either.

-
I'd say it could go either way, but I'm going for the 3rd option albeit not due to the UI, but due to the fact Bethesda/ZeniMax wants it to be a mainstream MMO rather than go against the current.
-
As a person of strategy, I'd raise a sword up for Whiterun as it is the single most well-connected economical hub in Skyrim, has a werewolf guild, and has a legendary blacksmith, and I'd steadily increase in rank to put my own puppet in control of Skyrim itself.

An attack on DC- Do you believe it's coming?
in Debates

Nope, or at least not in any manner people think about... the real question that should be asked is how it'll be attacked.
Well we as in the populace, of course not. Americans were not interested in allying themselves with foreign entities and they trusted government even less; they even felt "if they aren't waging war on us, it ain't our problem" - something many view as selfish today. It took an attack to get Americans even remotely interested in WWII - an attack that was and still is considered a provoked attack, Pearl Harbor.
