As far as I know, weapon damage also does not scale with skill level.
Yeah it does. For example I had a weapon that was 460ish at 91 skill and it jumped to around 480 at 100 skill.
Magic needs an extra punch to compete with weapons though. I think spells should do sneak attack damage also, at least x2 damage on an unsuspecting opponent,

They already got shouts which are sorta like that, and if such a thing wouldn't be that good or powerful it probably would just be ignored anyway.

It might be because the last few updates have literally overwhelmed his update servers. Marketing isn't the only reason. He did however make it clear from earlier that he didn't think Steamworks was right for his game since it would remove some of his control over it. hard to say how that went.
Looking at the potential profits he has made already, not sure why such a thing would be a problem for him. He certainly has the finances for server upgrades. Spend a few hundred thousand on server upgrades, problem solved. Sharing 30% of the profits with steam on a potential couple more million copies being sold = loss.

actually the Asus MARS II is the most powerful single (kinda) GPU on the market
lol and of course, if i had the money to spend on any PC i wanted, i would deff do a lot more research then just picking the highest number (for GPUs)/most expensiv of things off of newegg. lol :P
$1500 card, it probably is the best one currently. Also limited edition, so one would have to get those quick if they were to get them.

Technically the Radeon 6990 is the most powerful GPU on the market. This is based off testing and benchmarks from multiple sources. And an ultimate PC would have more than one of those. I'm sure there is a motherboard out there that would let you tri or quad crossfire those, The ultimate gaming PC would also be water cooled. There isn't a game currently on the market that would benefit from crossfire 6990s, so one could argue the ultimate PC would be one that could get the most out of anything currently.

nah, crafting may has some balance issues, but way off broken.
you may get ur gears up to some extreme extent at early of the game but as your skill going up ,so does ur level and your enemies, meanwhile your fighting skills would be probably as crap as hell and you get knocked down more often than normally would.so what's the point?
I say the weapons you can craft are about right in the 60+ range. Its about equal to what you would be doing with lets say a steel weapon at the beginning of the game. I didn't like in Oblvion that enemies continued to get more powerful as you gained levels, but you really didn't. Those "over powered" weapons are appropriate weapons to be using at near max level.
Not all enemies scale up, but the ones that don't you will end up walking over anyway regardless if you got an overpowered weapon or not.

They removed a few skills, sure, but they were mostly filler skills and relatively useless. I honestly hated leveling up just by walking and jumping. I'm glad they removed athletics/acrobatics. And you can still specialize in one weapon type through perks. And they even got part of the tree for duel wielding. They got rid of Mysticism, but that was actually the least useful of the magic schools anyway, how would they have even perked it? They would have to put more perks in that nobody would even use. So they just split that up into the other schools, Conjuration getting Soul Trap and etc.
I think Vanilla Skyrim is considerably better than Vanilla Oblivion. Although I liked the quests in Oblivion better.
The biggest gripe I got with Skyrim is the UI, and eventually someone is going to fix it as soon as they release the tool set.

Like the OP said, its negative press the game is going to get if they include it. They obviously included death voice overs for children, according to the video I saw, which is another thing they couldn't get away with doing and not get bad press for.

Thank you for that explanation, Beriallord. And please forgive me for attempting to be a trifle whimsical with my original query. I did not mean to sound sarcastic or facetious. I apologize if I came off that way. Just attempting to be a bit droll (as a friend would put it).:)
I wasn't offended in any way, but your post did hint of sarcasm.

I have seen deathblows occur even when the attack I was going to do wouldn't have normally been a 1hko attack. For example, I know with X weapon a normal attack only does 1/2 of X enemies health but sometimes a deathblow happens with that attack and 1hkos them. Its probably a set critical chance, that is much higher % if the attack you are using will automatically kill them, but still happens sometimes even if the attack you are using wont kill them. If someone could figure out the coding and make attacks that will kill a 100% deathblow without making every single attack a deathblow then you could make a balanced mod.

Has nothing to do with the steam server, as the cd key confirmation is accessed as soon as you launch it for the first time. Thus no longer needing access to the steam server. Read their offline mode details if you do not understand this. As for that error, it sounds like either your game data is corrupt, you're CD key is flagged as stolen/already registered, or you have a illegal copy and are trying to use it.
If that was the case he wouldn't have been able to start the game. And from what I understand it only checks that once when you install it.
The quickest thing to do is try and reinstall the game, or check it through steam. If it crashed, the its highly possible something got corrupted.

How is this mod manager going to work? Are all mods on the site going to be required to be compatible with this eventually? Or is this just a tool in the works to make installing easier and not necessarily required?

@Beriallord, where is this "real world" you mentioned in your previous post. Just wondering.... I'd love to visit if I get a free moment...:psyduck:
Oh Granny, it's everywhere.... populated by actual flesh and blood people that all have real consequences when interacted with unlike the internet. It's a place where in theory your real persona has to manifest itself and you reap the consequences of how you are perceived by others.
I have seen many who hate how they are perceived by others and tend to look for excuses and blame others entirely, instead of taking a look at themselves and owning some of that responsibility for their actions and behavior. That is the thing about a free country, you can behave and act however you want within legal limits, but you also reap the consequences of how you are perceived by others. You have to put some foresight and decide, if I act a certain way around a certain crowd is it going to reflect negatively on me or not? For example, I used to work for a Veterinary medicine distributor and deliver medications to horse farms, even though I wasn't into horse racing, and honestly think they are dumb animals, I wasn't going to share my opinion with that group of people, because it would reflect negatively on me. Now I have opened my mouth and said things around certain people I shouldn't have and it reflected negatively, and I don't blame them, I blame me, I should have kept my mouth shut.
I tell you politics in the workplace is one of the biggest ways to get in trouble, and quick. I found it is best to not even discuss and if someone asks just say I'm not into politics.
For example I'm not going to flaunt my love for South Park around a Christian crowd, if I have to maintain any dealings with them on a personal or professional basis. Its as simple as putting 2 and 2 together.

Why would Notch need steam to market his product? Why cut them in on it? He has gotten all the popularity he needs through his own website. Most people that do any gaming have heard of Minecraft by now, he doesn't need Steam to sell the game for him. If he wanted to reach the Steam audience, he could just buy some advertising on their website which would cost less than splitting the sales of the game.

You'll always end up buying data, steam convinced me when my oblivion disc wore down. DVDs damage more quickly than CDs and with the uprising of more data for games steam's getting my favour more and more. Whoever said we have such speedy connections? Steam deals tend to be cheaper on quite a few games quite early. Around here games on disc are cheap around their release and get more expensive after for about 4-6 months. This is when steam is beneficial to me as the autumn and holiday season deals come around.
I got a copy of Civilization III over here that I used as a drink coaster for 3 years, decided one day I would reinstall and play it and cleaned it off and it loaded just fine. You have to really try hard to damage a CD/DVD beyond usage. I can't say I've ever had a CD/DVD get damaged on me beyond being usable.
If I got that physical copy, steam and nobody else can decide for whatever reason I can't have access to that data anymore. When you purchase a game, it is a life long license to play that game, but according to Steam you have to abide by their terms or you can be denied access to the data you purchased. Having a physical copy, nobody can deny you access to the data you purchased.
Has anyone ever tried to disagree with a EULA, and then call them up and demand your money back? Try that and see how it works for you. My point is you don't have a choice but to agree to their terms, even if you aren't aware of them when you hand the money over to buy the game, so they can put whatever terms in that EULA they want, and you can't even play it if you disagree, and most companies won't give you a full refund if you disagree. Basically you are signing your rights over as a consumer, with no way to legitimately protest.

I had a HDD I thought was broken one time, and I did a full format, every piece of data on it was deleted and then my PC recognized it.

From the way I understand feminism, its women mostly in opposition to traditional views about what women are, or should be.

Sometimes you can find good deals on physical copies of games, instead of buying data. Not everyone has 50mb internet and can download games in 20 minutes.

Real life, not internet people and associations, people and places where you interact and deal with people on a face to face basis, friends and family, coworkers, etc.

I'm getting the PS3 version, I enjoy games like these more on a console.
Well, the main thing I think which makes PC better for me is the aiming. I'm far more practiced at getting precise headshots from a few blocks away using a mouse than I am with a control stick. So switching would probably result in me relying more heavily on NPC teammates to do most of the killing.
I've always traditionally played GTA style games on a console, no real reasoning behind it other than that. But yeah, I would rather aim with a mouse than with a pad. Most of these kinda games don't require that kind of precision.

Useless mods? What one person sees useless another mind find useful. Why do you even care, the "useless" mods aren't on your HDD are they? As long as they aren't criminally perverse, like child nudity I couldn't care less.

I'd say that South Park is much less pleasant, and far more puerile in humour, than a cartoon that's about cutesy talking horses. Would you like it if people called you creepy or childish for liking South Park? I'm guessing not. Judging by the reactions of fanboys and fangirls of various "adult" cartoons' reactions to anybody even suggesting that the things they're watching are chock full of bigotry, these fans have no room to diss the bronies and pegasisters of the world.
As for the paedophilia thing, it had to be brought up with the "guys who like little girls' cartoons are CREEPY AND VILLAINOUS" rubbish going on.
Actually I couldn't care less about what people think of me liking South Park, and I am not a sensitive enough person who really cares what others think of me. Nor am I afraid to discuss South Park in real life or on the internet. What I like about South Park is they aren't politically correct, and they make fun of everybody. Of course people who are overly sensitive won't enjoy the humor and might even find it offensive. What one person might see as offensive, I might think is funny.
Fanboyism is part of the problem, its people getting butthurt over someone else being critical of something they like, which I never fully understood, seeing as how I am an emotionally secure person who is not sensitive to criticism.
People who cannot learn to take criticism/judgement from others with a grain of salt wont get anywhere in the real world.

Uh, the Rahgot is a dragon priest mask, 1 of 7, and the Otar mask is probably the best one because it gives 40% fire/frost/lightning resist. Which cannot be put on a helmet either.

For example, I might want a companion to fight ranged only, meaning sit back and shoot with bows instead of getting in melee. Now I have tried removing their equipment with the console, and giving them a bow, but they just run in with fists and start attacking. They let you command them to wait or move to a specific position, but you can't have them fight a specific way? Basically you should be able to tell them how you want them to fight whether that be Range/Melee/Magic if applicable. Or tell them to fight freely, which all 3 will be used if applicable.

Ultimate Alteration Skill Grinding Spell

Tips for leveling some of the other spells:
Recommended -100% cost gear for respective schools, which requires 100 enchanting.
Conjuration:
I leveled conjuration up by spamming soul trap on a bandit, took me less than 10 minutes to get it from 20-100. I had enchanted gear for free cast though which helped boost the speed of leveling.
Destruction:
Also the higher tier destruction spells give a larger XP gain when they hit. I compared the first flame spell with incinerate, and you level way faster using incinerate. Basically summon a pet, nuke it with incinerate/ice lance/thunder bolt, then repeat. Takes longer than 10 minutes, but its the fastest way I could come up with to grind destruction.
Restoration:
Also the stronger heal spells with restoration also give a larger XP bonus than the first spell. I believe you can also hold a ward up and let an enemy mage cast at you for xp.
Also, I haven't bothered with Illusion on any of my characters yet, so if anyone knows the best way to level that, make a suggestion.
