  1. This is another one of those mostly internet fascinations, that I don't really see or hear about in the real world. Only on internet gaming forums.

A question I got for the ones who like MLP, who are adults, do you express this same like in real life, or is this just an internet expression thing?

Just curious, because I never seen a 20ish year old dude wearing a MLP T-shirt, or have a MLP sitting on their desk.

  2. AC was the first MMO I ever played, its way old school, and I liked it much better than EQ which was too grindy. AC was the first casual MMO. Something that didn't require a tremendous time dump to get ahead in. The world was probably the largest I've seen in any MMO, period. I remember the Silifi of Crimson Stars, the Atlan weapons with different stones to put in it to change the element of the weapons, etc. The later might be a cool mod idea for a weapon, have elemental stones you can enchant with different effects that you can put in a weapon slot and swap them out at will, like with the Atlan weapons in AC.

Basically what you want is elemental effects like fire/frost/lightning etc to be more present on the weapons, more than just a slight red glow for fire or etc.

Like if you enchant fire you an axe, the axe is on fire

  3. Any solutions for this? This is a pretty important quest line, enough to be considered game breaking. I went to Solitude and attacked but the siege never ends, and the city remains burning, etc. Fast traveled away and waited a week and came back and the city is still on fire and no NPCs standing around. Solitude is basically broken.

On another note, I was always easily able to find quest IDs for both Oblivion, FA3, and FA:NV so I could force complete/reset broken quests, but it seems near impossible to do that in Skyrim, its much more complex.

Has anyone had any success in resetting a specific quest?

  4. I finished the fort, and go back and talk to the guy he gives me another quest to talk to alfred stormcloak, but the liberate haafinger quest is still there and the icon is still above the guys head. I am having no luck at all trying to figure out how to force complete this with console commands. Is there a fix for this? I just need to know the quest ID and I can't find it anywhere.
  5. Uh, destruction isn't broken, its actually really weak level 40+ but enchanting is broken, and that is what allowed your brother to cast infinite destruction spells.

The best balance with destruction, is I don't think is should take anywhere near your full mana bar to drop just average enemies on adept, at any level range. Unfortunately you find yourself doing that in the later levels, and even hitting your target with 3 dual cast incinerates and it is still standing and your out of mana, and there are two enemies just like him right next to him, then what? I know what I'd do, I be enchanting me some free cast destruction gear. That or just reroll.

The stronger undead enemies are much more frequent past level 40, you start seeing way more deathlords, which are the ones that survive 3 dual cast incinerates.

  6. Has to be a bug. I beat that quest at level 12. Very strange.

I ran into an ice troll who wouldn't die...health wasn't touched. I had to quit the game (no save) go back in, make my way back to the troll, and killed it no problem.

The buggy Ice troll on the mountain to the gray beards? He glitched on the above part, but eventually fell down and after that he was invincible. I just ran past him.

  7. I dunno what everyone is talking about Lydia equips the full set of Daedra armor I gave her. She did the same with every set of heavy armor I gave her, no problem. Did you all update Skyrim? I am 100% certain its not a bug, and that you guys are doing something wrong, because it works for me with the latest update.

    Proof right here:

    http://img833.imageshack.us/img833/9273/lydiaarmor.png

    No problems on my end.

Also Varkas is the best melee companion because hes got master rank 2h. Throw an enchanted weapon on him and hes as godly as you are.

  8. The boss below the Shrine of Meridia, I just fought, and I got literally 1hko'd by this guys Ice Storm cast. Very unusual, because I got 560 health, AND +40% frost resist. Currently level 62. I know for a fact that spells do not scale up in damage with level, at least on every other enemy I've fought, cast by anything else Ice Storm tickles for damage, so I though nothing of trying to avoid it and just rushed head on through it. Didn't even tick me, just one hit I was thrown to the ground, dead. My Dremora lords also got 1hko'd by Ice storm.

This is on adept difficulty. I won by spamming dremora lords in the room hoping they got a swing off before 1hko'd, which worked.

I suspect this is due to a bug. If it means anything the guy dropped a staff of Ice Storm. Perhaps the damage on staffs scaled up for this particular enemy, but I beat a dragon priest earlier and got hit with spells that only did 30 or 40 damage a pop and they also had staffs.

Anyway, I'm very confused here, and is there any reason for this, like this location giving an innate -5000% magic resist? So far this is the only enemy in the game that has a SUPER Ice Storm.

  9. If you want to just fight stuff straight up you are better off with 2h weapons. I tried both and I much prefer my 2 handed war hammer to duel wield maces, its not just about preference I'm a power gamer, and the war hammer just does better damage overall. And the dual wield mace power attack takes too much endurance, and the damage is usually wasted. So I almost never use it, and stick to using the single power attacks, then I quickly decided that I may as well just go with a 2h character if I wasn't going to use the dual wield power attacks. And you need less perks for 2h also. I got the 5 for damage, 3 for ignore armor, and the critical charge. If you wanted to duel wield maces, you would need the extra perks for improved dual wield, and its simply not worth it. Every single one of my perks is well placed and meaningful to my play style if I don't use it I remove it with the console and put it somewhere else.
  10. How about Magic for conjuration pets? It will focus the enemies attention away from you so you can close in on them easier. And also avoid getting hit. And the pets aren't just meat shields either, they do damage.

You can put them on favorite, summon them then switch back to sword and board/dual sword if you want. If you got a room full of 3+ mages, you might want to summon a pet in the room to get the initial aggro.

I leveled conjuration from 20-100 in about 10 minutes after enchanting some gear that let me cast it for free. Find a bandit and spam soul trap on it. and watch the levels go up really fast.

  11. Bethesda should have made a UI similar to this:

    http://i.imgur.com/GW5Zv.jpg

I am not sure if this is a real mod, but someone posted it on gamefaqs, and I love the UI, you should be able to get to everything with one menu, and see all options on the screen at the same time, like they did here. Pretty much all the information you need in one window is available.

Only other information I would include is spell/magic resist levels somewhere to the right of the fatigue bar or to the left of the health bar. Have a little Flame pic for fire, with a % number, same for frost, and lightning. Magic resist lowers damage for all 3, so it wouldn't need one of its own.

If this is a real mod, I would like a link to it please.

  12. My character has over 500 health, and I was actually 1hko'd by an ice storm spell cast by the guy below meridia's shrine. The spell does about 50 damage, double that plus 20% and you got 120 max dual cast, but somehow I was hit for 500ish. Can someone explain? This wasn't multiple ticks it was 1 hit in the face, dead, immediately. I also got around 40% frost resist. Other mages with ice storm didn't do that much, only the guy below meridia's shrine, normally the spell tickles and I don't even care to get hit by it. I'm pretty sure its a bug, because I never saw the same effects replicated with any spell doing way more damage than it should. Unless there is something in there that debuffs my frost/magic resist by like 5000%, its a bug.
  13. Ghogiel, we (the humanity) are not yet in the point were the majority of people really accepts homosexuality nor wants to see it in their computer screens.

Except that's the thing. Short of homophobes who respond to this sort of thing with "axe in the face" and other forms of hatred. Most of us who are, you know, functional in reality have come to accept that people of differing interests exist and that these differences don't mean that person is bad.

On my playthrough, it was first surprise, then awkward silence, then rejection... Same with how it usually is in real life, regardless your gender or the gender of the person asking. That's kinda what makes the game 'real' that emotional (even if destructive and ignorant) response isn't something that can really be forced on a player.

Its not hatred, I just play an evil orc, and many other non-hostile NPCs took an axe to the face, like the courier who kept interrupting me, or some other randoms who said something offensive. But this same evil orc never had a guy hit on him, so I don't know what the OP is talking about. Taking an axe to the face to an NPC that hits on me would be wholly appropriate considering I got bounty on my head in most towns for killing NPCs/guards.

  14. title is a bit long but it explains exactly what i want/need, too many times ive found enchanted gear that my companion wouldnt wear, i cant see the logic in refusing to wear it, because in a lot of cases the gear is downright better than the standard gear they wear, so all im asking is a button be implemented on the companion trade window that when clicked forces the companion to equip the gear

Are you trying to give them light armor, when they are wearing heavy armor, or the other way around? Some companions that use a Greatsword, I tried handing a Warhammer to, because its also 2 handed, and wouldn't auto equip it unless I removed their greatsword. But if I handed them a better quality greatsword, they would auto equip it. Companions have a weapon preference. I never had a problem with them auto-equipping armor, if I gave them an improved version of the one they were using. And there is no reason you wouldn't want to give them the same armor they use because they have some skill in it.

If you are trying to give them a different armor type its possible the armor they are wearing that they are skilled in gives them better protection than the armor you are trying to give them, which means they won't auto-equip it. I just tried giving Vilkar Glass armor, and he wouldn't equip it, which means his basic heavy armor gives him better protection, because he is skilled in heavy armor. If I give him Daedric, he will auto-equip it.

If you got more than 40 or 50 in an armor, and have some perks, the very best armor of the opposite type is going to be worse than the worst armor of the type you are skilled in.

  15. Dragons get way stronger as you level up, so the player actually has a chance to beat them at a lower level. At level 60 Elder Dragons take 3 power attacks with a 470ish damage War hammer to take down. Still take 2 hits if I use berserker rage, any and all trolls die with just one normal swing.

Those overpowered weapons everyone is talking about are pretty close to being what you need to be doing in the 60-70 range, and I suspect that weapon will be about the same as a normal steel 2h weapon at the beginning of the game at level 70. If its taking more than a couple swings with a 2h weapon to drop your average foe, on adept difficulty, you are underpowered.

  16. I recommend changing the UI that deals with crafting, for example when I level enchanting I have to do 3 clicks, push enter, and click yes, every time. Very annoying. Be better if I could just click 3 times to select the stuff and then keep clicking once to craft a bunch of items and change the items/enchant/modifiers if I want. Same thing with alchemy. Very, very time consuming to level alchemy and enchanting because of the UI. Smithing is fine, I highlight an item hit e and click. I also don't like the box that pops up asking if I want to craft this item. If you want to eliminate that box entirely, and make crafting one click, or simply press E to make the item that would be freaking awesome. Possibly put a tab in settings to eliminate the box, some people might like it but I absolutely hate the game questioning my actions every time asking if I want to craft X item, after doing it a million times. I hate the crafting UI in this game with a passion. I hate the UI in general, but this takes the cake.

Alchemy in general needs to be more intuitive. If you created a potion, it should be on a list of potions you can make that you can highlight, and click E to make providing you have the materials, and crafted the potion once, instead of it being a bunch of guess work. Alchemy desperately needs some UI mod love. The entire way Alchemy crafting works in this game needs an overhaul.

Here is an idea, you would have a tab showing different potion effects, for example Restore health, click that and it will have a list of available potions you made under that tab, you highlight the potion and click E to craft just highlight and left click, and no stupid window showing up asking if you want to create the item. You make a new potion something shows at the top saying you learned craft XXX potion, then it gets added to a list under its category you can just craft without clicking on materials. Anyone agree something like that would be way better than the current UI? This would help not only crafting but people that want to level their skills up without fighting with a really crappy UI that gets in the way.

I understand something like this might not be possible without the tool set. But I hope someone takes up the task of overhauling the crafting UI interface. And I gave a few ideas. I am certain it would be a very popular mod, with many endorsements. I don't even want any credit for any of the ideas if implemented.

I'm gonna post this in mod requests, also.

  18. Blackreach is the coolest area I seen so far, massive underground area, tons of loot and mobs to kill. A certain quest sends you there. Its the biggest indoor area in the game.

If you want to start the quest that sends you there. Directly north of the mage college is a mountain marker, inside is the quest. Takes awhile to do, very time consuming.

My 2h is 95, so it will gain a few points in damage. The great thing about hammers is they ignore 75% armor, and the sprinting power attack does double critical. 1hko'd a Blood dragon with a sprinting power attack. Plus this character is Orc, so he can do 2x more with berserker rage, any way I look at it I'm 1hkoing just about everything. Currently level 42.
