  1. Well, the specs for a lot of future PC games are going to be tied to and limited by the power of these console systems. Which means any PC that wasn't totally budget that was built in 2011 or later, will probably be running the multiplat PC ports at mid to high settings for the next 4 years. If you got a PC that beats the PS4 and Xbone, you'll have a PC good enough to play the PC ports of a lot of games, and they'll probably look/run better as well.
  2. You said $2000 is max, but I'm going to assume you don't want to spend more than you really need to. 3. Yeah, time slows down the closer you get to the speed of light. So if you go to the nearest star traveling 99% of light speed, the time it takes to get there according to you might be only a few days, but years have passed for people on Earth. A trip a few light years one way, you could burn up 10+ years of Earth time just by traveling a long distance at near light speed. Of course, this poses a serious problem for anyone thinking of traveling at those speeds. Should they have family members or loved ones on Earth who will age much quicker than they will.
  4. I would choose the past. Like 3000-5000BC. I would be very interested to see how they constructed the pyramids in Egypt. Another timeline that would interest me is 800-1100AD, particularly the Viking era. I'm extremely curious as to how/why they lived the way they did. Like what drove them to brave the seas the way they did, and go out into the complete unknown? What drove them to attack and raid others, when they had plenty of resources and knowledge to live fairly comfortably (relative to that time period) in Northern Europe? I can't think of many examples where a people seemingly live life by the extreme, without it being a true necessity. Based on current trends; the future really doesn't interest me that much. I would avoid visiting the future simply based on the possibility that I would lose ALL hope for humanity based on what I'd see there. I don't want to see WW3 and its aftermath, as well as governments becoming increasingly tyrannical. Seeing WW3, and nations that used to be free turned into police states, I would absolutely lose all hope for the future of humanity.
  5. http://img4.hostingpics.net/pics/158707comp6.jpg Looks like the gap between systems is really huge. Its almost unbelieable. The PS4 version is 1080p, compared to 720p on the Xbone. And the PS4 version clearly has better textures, AA, and shaders as well. To be fair, this example isn't the average, but is in fact one of the most extreme cases in differences in visuals between the systems. But regardless of the extremes, the PS4 versions of most multiplatfor games are going to look better and/or run at better FPS. And the difference is going to be a bit larger than it was between PS3 and 360. I can't see any convincing reason to buy the XBone over the PS4 when its $100 more.
  6. When I'm talking about people stopping when there is a "yield" sign up, this means they should have been able to merge into traffic instead of coming to a complete stop. There are situations where you don't have a choice but to stop when there is a yield sign, like when traffic is backed up and its bumper to bumper, but under normal circumstances yield simply means you don't have the right of way, and must yield if necessary to traffic in the other lane. The problem is people coming to a complete stop when its not necessary. If they do that, I'll lay on my horn to give them some courage. Another thing that irks me, and this is a collective stupidity on the part of several moronic brains working in unison for a combined cluster :pinch:, is people not making use of multiple turning lanes. There is a mall I go to sometimes, and traffic is always backed up because people refuse to spread the traffic out in both turning lanes, but instead just back up one of them to the point where it cuts off access to the other turning lane. The civil engineers put 2 lanes turning left for a reason..... Like? So traffic can spread out and not back up as easily? Instead, these idiots want to herd up like cattle. People just don't like to seem to use multiple turning lanes. I've been known to pass 20 cars lined up in one turning lane, to get to the one that doesn't have a single car sitting in it. I don't know if people just don't like using their brain when they're driving, or that they like waiting an extra cycle or 2 at the stop light before they can turn *sarcasm*. Also, anyone who is scared driving behind the wheel doesn't need to be driving at all. Fearlessness should be a requirement for driving on the road. If I have to wait because someone is scared, then *lays on horn* If I was to base my faith in humanity around my observations about people's driving skills on the road, it would essentially be zero.
  7. To have "true HD" they'd have to remake all those PS2 games and have higher resolution textures. Otherwise its only being upscaled, because those games weren't created to be run in HD. Also, with the PS4, the emulator would also have to apply a good amount of AA, or the games will still look like crud.
  8. I recommend getting a Cooler Master Hyper 212+ or 212+ Evo for a CPU cooler. It will run you no more than $30. Its the best CPU cooler you can get for anywhere near that price range. A 212+ is good enough to OC my I5 2500k to 4.7ghz (1.326 Vcore). For a $30 cooler, you can't beat it. Also, SSDs aren't that huge of a deal. I just had my SSD go bad on me and it was a royal pain in the ass to recover my data after my SSD failed. It lasted about 2 1/2 years, which is common for an SSD. SSDs don't last as long as mechanical hard drives, which I normally get 5 years minimum out of. So if you get an SSD, know the risks, and know that it will likely be the first thing in your PC that goes bad, or needs replacing. And I was only using my SSD as a caching device, and I don't think it did as many writes as if I would have used it as a primary drive. So that likely means you can expect to get even less mileage out of an SSD used as a primary drive. Also you can save a few bucks by getting the Z87 extreme 4 motherboard, instead of the extreme 6. Unless there is a really good reason you need the extreme 6. For gaming - 1600mhz ram is fine. Don't overpay for faster ram, because the cost to performance increase simply isn't worth it. And you want to generally get the best GPU you can possibly get for your budget, with CPU being a close secondary. Here is what I came up with: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2Nfg5 CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($239.99 @ Newegg) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.99 @ Newegg) Motherboard: ASRock Z87 Extreme3 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($114.99 @ Newegg) Memory: G.Skill Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($77.99 @ Newegg) Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($59.99 @ Newegg) Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 770 2GB Video Card ($357.86 @ Newegg) Case: Cooler Master HAF 912 ATX Mid Tower Case ($59.99 @ Newegg) Power Supply: Corsair CX 750W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($79.99 @ Newegg) Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer ($26.97 @ Newegg) Total: $1047.76 $1047.76 without the OS. Also you forgot to include a PSU, but I included one. I think you can get a better deal on an OS than what is listed. And for single monitor @ 1080p resolution, you don't need more than 2gbs of Vram. The HAF 912 is a really good case for the price. Cooler master cases in general got nice air flow, even for the lower priced models.
  9. Its too little - too late. I can already do this on my PC, and my PC does it better.
  10. Most people are manipulated in some way whether they realize it or not. The dumber you are the more prone you are to being manipulated. But even very smart people can be manipulated. Unfortunately the average person isn't that bright. I like to believe I've made myself immune to basic manipulation attempts. One of the biggest attempts at collective manipulation by the government is with regards to privacy. They've more or less succeeded in making people think they're safer when they've given up their right to privacy, like with increased security. The fact is when you give up freedoms for security, you'll simply lose freedoms. There is no reason why they need to pat down an old lady using a walker going through airport security, and when I get up there, they walk me through the metal detector, and no pat down. I guess they think old ladies with walkers are more of a threat than a middle aged White male *sarcasm*.
  11. I got little patience for stupidity on the road way. Like sometimes when people are stopping when they got plenty of room to merge into traffic while moving, and etc. That is why they put horns on cars. And I make good use of the horn when people are acting stupid. Driving is not something I particularly enjoy, so when I'm on the road, its to get from point A to B, and if stupid people are impeding my ability to get from point A to B efficiently, I quickly lose patience with them. When you're on the road, you aren't there as a human, but as an obstacle, or a barrier to other drivers. Things that particularly piss me off on the road: Driving under the speed limit on a one lane road - speed limits are there for a reason, use them. People who think yield means stop. People who think a flashing yellow light means stop. People who stop instead of merge on a highway entrance ramp.
  12. I'd like to see Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 remade using the same engine they used for Dragon Age. Keep all the original mechanics intact.
  13. I like the combat in Dark Souls, Dragon's Dogma, and to some extent, Monster Hunter. I also like an open world, lots of exploration, towns, dungeons filled with loot. Maybe some of the dungeons could be random generating, so the loot, mobs, and structure varies. I like random mods on loot, but not so random that its guaranteed the vast majority of loot you find will be vendor trash. I just got done playing path of exile, and I absolutely learned to hate loot mechanics like that in game with a passion.
  14. I don't think its a coincidence that the same group of commies that want to take away free speech rights would also like to take away our guns. About the worst offense recently I can think of in the USA about a clear attack on free speech rights is what A&E did to Phil Robertson about his comments about homosexuals. The guy is an old hillbilly, and makes no bones about it, what do people expect someone like him to say? Yes there are people like that in the USA, and they don't really care that its 2013, and have no intentions of ever "getting with the times". Which probably has a whole lot to do with why people even watch the show. The butthurt reprisal was then taken even further by a restaurant chain called Cracker Barrel that removed all the Duck Dynasty products from the shelves. http://www.examiner.com/article/cracker-barrel-apologizes-says-it-is-selling-all-duck-dynasty-products If anyone has ever eaten in a Cracker Barrel, its a country store, with southern cooking, a place that mostly White people, who are mostly Christians frequent. I'm not saying gay people don't eat there, but they aren't exactly at any risk of offending anyone by leaving Phil Robertson merchandise on the shelves. And the ones who are offended should honestly go pound sand. But who they did succeed in offending are free speech advocates, who made their voices heard, and this battle was won because enough people said something. People in the USA are getting increasingly irritated with all the PC bullcrap. To the point where there is going to be a serious social revolution here soon, and the ones towing the PC line are going to quickly find out exactly how small of a minority they really are.
  15. I liked Dragon's Dogma, but I didn't like the changes in Dark Arisen. I still sailed right through the DA content like it was nobodies business. I'm strictly against "Balancing changes" being made in offline single player games, and any game that happens in, I'm hugely critical of it. I made sure to buy DA used, so Capcom didn't make anything from the purchase.
  16. I used to enjoy JRPGs a lot, but something happened to that genre of gaming last gen, when most of the games were placed on hand held systems, and also I don't like the art direction, and themes for a lot of the newer JRPGs. They've gotten more kiddy, colorful and whimsical. And I also hate gaming on a hand held. I prefer a larger screen with a traditional gaming pad. I also see zero innovation taking place in that genre outside of hollow gimmicks. Its gotten to the point where I'd rather they make something solid in a way they know how to do well instead of trying to innovate with cheap, hollow gimmicks. If they call something like FF XIII "innovative", then honestly I wish they would just quit making games, period. They totally missed the mark in that game, and failed to include far too many things people enjoy the most about those games, like towns, story and exploration. No towns, the story was convoluted, I didn't know what the hell they were talking about when they said Lacie or a Cieth until near the end of the game, and the maps were incredibly linear with only a few exceptions. You also couldn't go back and revisit most areas in the game.
  17. The label of "Freedom fighter" or "Terrorist" all depends on who controls the media.
  18. PC and arresting someone over PC are 2 different heads of the same beast. They've driven it into being law, whereas in America the worst you'll receive are labels and possibly being socially outcast at the very worst. And ironically, it wasn't long ago that Mandela was viewed by the British government as a "terrorist", and regardless of the brutal methods of the ANC under his leadership, he is a hero - or else. You familiar with the term "Necklace"? Basically they put a tire around your neck and set you on fire along with the tire, which was ANC butchery at its finest.
  19. I got a G700, and I like it pretty well. I got mine online when it was on sale. I wouldn't pay $80 for one, and I got one for $60. They're worth $60, but not worth $80.
  20. The reason I put this in debates, is to discuss whether or not you think its fair to arrest someone for something like this. My opinion: If they're arresting people over stuff like this in Britain, then its clear to me the people there live in a police state. Hitler also had people arrested that said things that didn't fit their twisted ideological model.
  21. A person is only worth as much as they can prove by their actions. And yeah, that means a lot of people aren't worth much, unfortunately. Equality and egalitarianism are alien concepts to me. If you want to be equal to someone else, then prove it. Don't whine and complain, and make excuses. Its not possible for every individual to work their way to the top, it has not ever been or ever will be. And nobody should expect it to be. Some people are simply smarter, and/or more driven and motivated than others. The vast majority of tasks that need to be done in an economy are menial grunt work, and someone has to do it. That means there isn't even enough room at the top should everyone aspire or even be capable of achieving it. You currently got a situation where higher education is being made too easy. And what I mean by that is there are more college students than there are professional jobs for these people. And a lot of people are going to run into the incredibly harsh reality that they may have went to college to obtain an unemployable education, or studied in something there isn't a whole lot of demand for in a fiercely competitive field where people with ivy league degrees are preferred over their humble community college degree. How much would it suck to go to college for 4 years, rack up student loan debt and THEN be stuck doing grunt work like being a cashier at walmart for 10 or 11 bucks an hour? And then be stuck there for 3-4 years? This happens, because no matter how much anyone tries, the simple fact is not everyone is equal. And when you try to get in the way to prop the little guy up, in the end they end up getting screwed even more. Like, instead of just working a grunt job, now they're working a grunt job WITH a student loan debt to pay off for that unemployable education they got. My cousin is in this exact same situation. And she regrets it. So if you're going to college, you better think long and hard about what you're going to major in, or you could find yourself in the same shoes as my cousin who got an unemployable education.
  22. I just got finished with Vandal Hearts II. Its a SRPG. It was original in a lot of ways and I enjoyed it. The gear made the classes basically, and then weapons had skill slots of them, and differnet weapon types had differnet skills. And then there was a dual movement mechanic in the game, which meant for each turn, both you and the enemy moved one unit, and if you could predict which of your units the enemy was going to attack, you could not only move to avoid being hit, but you could also predict where the enemy was going to move to attack you, and then attack them from a different location. Lots of ways you could bait the enemy AI to make it easier to predict who they are going to attack and when. I quickly figured out the AI prioritized healing before attacking, and that the AI attacks always prefer to back attack if they're in range to do so. So for example, if 2 units are within range to be attacked, but only one of them is vulnerable to a back attack, you can predict which one gets hit by using such methods.
  23. You'll be able to emulate older versions of windows no problem. I got an emulator for windows 3.1 and 98 that I used to run some really old games that just aren't compatible with Windows 7.
  24. I second Dark Souls 2, and also Witcher 3. My brother ended up getting in TESO beta, and he told me the game was disappointing and that a lot of TES fans were not going to like it. He wouldn't give me any specifics.
  25. Last time I went to a Black Friday, I almost got in a fist fight with someone who thought they could cut in line in front of me. Its just too much drama that I don't want to deal with. And you can still get some deals online.
