Most people are manipulated in some way whether they realize it or not. The dumber you are the more prone you are to being manipulated. But even very smart people can be manipulated. Unfortunately the average person isn't that bright. I like to believe I've made myself immune to basic manipulation attempts.
One of the biggest attempts at collective manipulation by the government is with regards to privacy. They've more or less succeeded in making people think they're safer when they've given up their right to privacy, like with increased security. The fact is when you give up freedoms for security, you'll simply lose freedoms. There is no reason why they need to pat down an old lady using a walker going through airport security, and when I get up there, they walk me through the metal detector, and no pat down. I guess they think old ladies with walkers are more of a threat than a middle aged White male *sarcasm*.

I got little patience for stupidity on the road way. Like sometimes when people are stopping when they got plenty of room to merge into traffic while moving, and etc. That is why they put horns on cars. And I make good use of the horn when people are acting stupid. Driving is not something I particularly enjoy, so when I'm on the road, its to get from point A to B, and if stupid people are impeding my ability to get from point A to B efficiently, I quickly lose patience with them. When you're on the road, you aren't there as a human, but as an obstacle, or a barrier to other drivers.
Things that particularly piss me off on the road:
Driving under the speed limit on a one lane road - speed limits are there for a reason, use them.
People who think yield means stop.
People who think a flashing yellow light means stop.
People who stop instead of merge on a highway entrance ramp.

I'd like to see Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 remade using the same engine they used for Dragon Age. Keep all the original mechanics intact.
-
I like the combat in Dark Souls, Dragon's Dogma, and to some extent, Monster Hunter. I also like an open world, lots of exploration, towns, dungeons filled with loot. Maybe some of the dungeons could be random generating, so the loot, mobs, and structure varies. I like random mods on loot, but not so random that its guaranteed the vast majority of loot you find will be vendor trash.
I just got done playing path of exile, and I absolutely learned to hate loot mechanics like that in game with a passion.

I don't think its a coincidence that the same group of commies that want to take away free speech rights would also like to take away our guns.
About the worst offense recently I can think of in the USA about a clear attack on free speech rights is what A&E did to Phil Robertson about his comments about homosexuals. The guy is an old hillbilly, and makes no bones about it, what do people expect someone like him to say? Yes there are people like that in the USA, and they don't really care that its 2013, and have no intentions of ever "getting with the times". Which probably has a whole lot to do with why people even watch the show.
The butthurt reprisal was then taken even further by a restaurant chain called Cracker Barrel that removed all the Duck Dynasty products from the shelves.
If anyone has ever eaten in a Cracker Barrel, its a country store, with southern cooking, a place that mostly White people, who are mostly Christians frequent. I'm not saying gay people don't eat there, but they aren't exactly at any risk of offending anyone by leaving Phil Robertson merchandise on the shelves. And the ones who are offended should honestly go pound sand. But who they did succeed in offending are free speech advocates, who made their voices heard, and this battle was won because enough people said something.
People in the USA are getting increasingly irritated with all the PC bullcrap. To the point where there is going to be a serious social revolution here soon, and the ones towing the PC line are going to quickly find out exactly how small of a minority they really are.

I liked Dragon's Dogma, but I didn't like the changes in Dark Arisen. I still sailed right through the DA content like it was nobodies business. I'm strictly against "Balancing changes" being made in offline single player games, and any game that happens in, I'm hugely critical of it. I made sure to buy DA used, so Capcom didn't make anything from the purchase.

I used to enjoy JRPGs a lot, but something happened to that genre of gaming last gen, when most of the games were placed on hand held systems, and also I don't like the art direction, and themes for a lot of the newer JRPGs. They've gotten more kiddy, colorful and whimsical. And I also hate gaming on a hand held. I prefer a larger screen with a traditional gaming pad. I also see zero innovation taking place in that genre outside of hollow gimmicks. Its gotten to the point where I'd rather they make something solid in a way they know how to do well instead of trying to innovate with cheap, hollow gimmicks.
If they call something like FF XIII "innovative", then honestly I wish they would just quit making games, period. They totally missed the mark in that game, and failed to include far too many things people enjoy the most about those games, like towns, story and exploration. No towns, the story was convoluted, I didn't know what the hell they were talking about when they said Lacie or a Cieth until near the end of the game, and the maps were incredibly linear with only a few exceptions. You also couldn't go back and revisit most areas in the game.

The label of "Freedom fighter" or "Terrorist" all depends on who controls the media.
-
PC is alive and well across the pond as well, I see.
PC and arresting someone over PC are 2 different heads of the same beast. They've driven it into being law, whereas in America the worst you'll receive are labels and possibly being socially outcast at the very worst.
And ironically, it wasn't long ago that Mandela was viewed by the British government as a "terrorist", and regardless of the brutal methods of the ANC under his leadership, he is a hero - or else. You familiar with the term "Necklace"? Basically they put a tire around your neck and set you on fire along with the tire, which was ANC butchery at its finest.

I got a G700, and I like it pretty well. I got mine online when it was on sale. I wouldn't pay $80 for one, and I got one for $60. They're worth $60, but not worth $80.

A sandwich shop owner endured eight hours of questioning by police and had his computer seized for three weeks – after making tasteless Nelson Mandela jokes on the internet.
Neil Phillips, who runs Crumbs in Rugeley, Staffordshire, says he was also finger-printed and DNA-swabbed after officers received complaints about what he insists were harmless gags.
In one online post, the 44-year-old wrote: 'My PC takes so long to shut down I’ve decided to call it Nelson Mandela.'
The reason I put this in debates, is to discuss whether or not you think its fair to arrest someone for something like this.
My opinion:
If they're arresting people over stuff like this in Britain, then its clear to me the people there live in a police state. Hitler also had people arrested that said things that didn't fit their twisted ideological model.

A person is only worth as much as they can prove by their actions. And yeah, that means a lot of people aren't worth much, unfortunately. Equality and egalitarianism are alien concepts to me. If you want to be equal to someone else, then prove it. Don't whine and complain, and make excuses. Its not possible for every individual to work their way to the top, it has not ever been or ever will be. And nobody should expect it to be. Some people are simply smarter, and/or more driven and motivated than others. The vast majority of tasks that need to be done in an economy are menial grunt work, and someone has to do it. That means there isn't even enough room at the top should everyone aspire or even be capable of achieving it.
You currently got a situation where higher education is being made too easy. And what I mean by that is there are more college students than there are professional jobs for these people. And a lot of people are going to run into the incredibly harsh reality that they may have went to college to obtain an unemployable education, or studied in something there isn't a whole lot of demand for in a fiercely competitive field where people with ivy league degrees are preferred over their humble community college degree.
How much would it suck to go to college for 4 years, rack up student loan debt and THEN be stuck doing grunt work like being a cashier at walmart for 10 or 11 bucks an hour? And then be stuck there for 3-4 years? This happens, because no matter how much anyone tries, the simple fact is not everyone is equal. And when you try to get in the way to prop the little guy up, in the end they end up getting screwed even more. Like, instead of just working a grunt job, now they're working a grunt job WITH a student loan debt to pay off for that unemployable education they got. My cousin is in this exact same situation. And she regrets it. So if you're going to college, you better think long and hard about what you're going to major in, or you could find yourself in the same shoes as my cousin who got an unemployable education.

I just got finished with Vandal Hearts II. Its a SRPG. It was original in a lot of ways and I enjoyed it. The gear made the classes basically, and then weapons had skill slots of them, and differnet weapon types had differnet skills. And then there was a dual movement mechanic in the game, which meant for each turn, both you and the enemy moved one unit, and if you could predict which of your units the enemy was going to attack, you could not only move to avoid being hit, but you could also predict where the enemy was going to move to attack you, and then attack them from a different location. Lots of ways you could bait the enemy AI to make it easier to predict who they are going to attack and when. I quickly figured out the AI prioritized healing before attacking, and that the AI attacks always prefer to back attack if they're in range to do so. So for example, if 2 units are within range to be attacked, but only one of them is vulnerable to a back attack, you can predict which one gets hit by using such methods.

I don't think getting rid of Windows is an option, it'll still be needed for older games even if every future PC title supports Linux, it would be nice not having to worry about updating to a newer version of Windows because M$ has decided to not to update the DirectX in older versions though.
You'll be able to emulate older versions of windows no problem. I got an emulator for windows 3.1 and 98 that I used to run some really old games that just aren't compatible with Windows 7.

I second Dark Souls 2, and also Witcher 3.
My brother ended up getting in TESO beta, and he told me the game was disappointing and that a lot of TES fans were not going to like it. He wouldn't give me any specifics.

Last time I went to a Black Friday, I almost got in a fist fight with someone who thought they could cut in line in front of me. Its just too much drama that I don't want to deal with. And you can still get some deals online.

If you're using politicians as an example for lack of common sense, its not a very good example. Most of them are the way they are because they believe the population is really that dumb. And for the most part, they're right to assume that. The average IQ in the USA isn't even in the triple digits anymore.

I don't feel like its up to me to decide which lives get taken, and would not consider it my responsibility to do anything in the situation of #1 or #2.
#3 is different, whereas my own life is on the line, and I'm gonna do whatever I think I need to do to survive. I'll try not to suffocate the baby.

I'm still running crossfire 6970s, and I don't plan on upgrading for awhile. I'll probably wait another year and a half and just get a monster single GPU card. I'm definitely going Nvidia next time. Their driver support is always better than AMDs.

My opinion? You should have just saved up $500 and built a PC from scratch. For $500 you could build a solid base rig that could be upgradeable for many years in the future. With that current setup you squeezed the last little bit you could out of that motherboard that is already really, really old.
Something like this would be budget:

Price breakdown by merchant: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1MD4S/by_merchant/
Benchmarks: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1MD4S/benchmarks/
CPU: Intel Core i3-4130 3.4GHz Dual-Core Processor ($129.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-B85-HD3 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($89.99 @ Amazon)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($68.46 @ NCIX US)
Video Card: HIS Radeon HD 7850 2GB Video Card ($149.99 @ Amazon)
Case: Antec One ATX Mid Tower Case ($46.24 @ Amazon)
Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer ($18.48 @ Outlet PC)
Total: $503.14
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)
(Generated by PCPartPicker 2013-10-09 03:48 EDT-0400)Reuse the 500w antec if possible, and of course reuse your HDD.
This might not be what you want, but its an example of what you can do with $500. That $500 PC could smash Skyrim or any of the top games right now. And don't underestimate Intel I3 processors, they're known for whipping AMD flagship CPUs in gaming.

Corrupted graphics drivers can cause issues. I personally had a similar problem recently on my rig with games running @ subpar performance, and doing this fixed it. You might want to do an uninstall of all graphics drivers, then use drivesweep to make sure all traces of the said drivers are removed. Then reinstall. Google drivesweeper, its a freeware program.
#1 uninstall the drivers & run drivesweeper
#2 reboot and reinstall drivers
#3 reboot again.
Be sure to install the latest Nvidia drivers as well.
Also, something else you might want to check is how many programs you got running in the background. They could be using CPU resources and slowing your gaming down. There is a program called Razer Game Booster, that shuts down non-essential processes in the background while gaming:
http://download.cnet.com/Razer-Game-Booster/3000-18512_4-10913645.html
I used it on my older PC and got a decent FPS boost. You might want to try that. It may or may not work depending on what is causing your problems.

The government has had non-essential services shut down for 9 days, and I'd bet a lot of people don't even know it. Meaning its not effecting their lives in any way, shape or form.
The sun rose and set for 9 days already, and the sky isn't falling.
This whole thing is being overblown, and its not nearly as serious as people are making it out to be.
State and local governments can function without the Federal government.
-
Everyday lives will go on for the country and most who don't even keep tabs on the news won't even know the government shut down.

I don't really care that much if someone is a racist, even if they personally hate me because of my race. I don't have to associate with them. I don't get why so many concern themselves with trying to change the views and thought processes of others. The ones who try to impose their views on others, in my opinion are more dangerous than most of racists are.
I couldn't give a damn less about making the world a better place for "Humanity", nor would I use that as a facade to impose my views on others.
If a person tells me they don't like White people, and don't want to be around White people, then why should I care? Am I supposed to have some sort of emotional knee jerk reaction after hearing those comments?

Its too little - too late. I can already do this on my PC, and my PC does it better.
