  1. Every single time I find my way into some tomb or barrow that's clearly been closed off for hundreds of years (hell, the NPCs even tell me so sometimes!) it's always a wtf to find burning candles and torches.... Where did they come from???
  2. I'd just emerged from some dungeon on a mountainside when I bumped into the old Orc again - the one that keeps asking for you to "give me a good death". Well, last time I felt bad about and I'd walked away but for some reason I decided this time I should. Trouble was, I was over-encumbered. I knew I'd picked up some rubbish by accident, so before I talked to him I pulled up my inventory and just dropped some heavy stuff that wasn't valuable. Came out of the inventory and this Orc just says (paraphrased cos I was too stunned to memorise it) "Well! I thought I was in a bad way but at least I'm not dropping my rubbish everywhere!" I just stared at the screen, WTF? And then laughed and laughed. Genius bit of programming. Keep meaning to find if the same thing happens with every NPC but also keep forgetting. :)
  3. Best laugh of the day. Thank you Werne! People can use your example to teach their children how NOT to behave. lol!
  4. Thanks for that. Really grateful. I didn't know about them.
  5. I'd love to see a video of you playing amnesia:the dark descent. I played the Amnesia demo, in broad daylight, in the livingroom with 4 other people, who were highly entertained by my reactions. I did not buy the game. :psyduck: Y'know.... I just possibly might give that one a miss!! :D My long-term game is an MMO - Lord of the Rings online. In that game, I'm the leader of a kinship called ....The Elders! ;) Our average age is around 42 last time I checked, and lots of us in our 50s. In answer to another question, I probably play about 20 hours a week on average. That can go up when something like Skyrim or a new update for LOTRO comes out. It goes down when I'm a bit bored with what's around.
  6. I'm 53 and I've played games since the Spectrum... However Elder Scrolls are the only 'real time action' games I've played. And unlike all you types I am a grade A cowardy-custard and possibly the worst fighter the world has ever known! Skyrim scares me half to death on a 5- minute basis, or thereabouts. Needless to say, I'm playing on the easiest level and am waiting for mods that make it ...well, maybe just a touch easier still. Which I did in Morrowind and Oblivion. :P For me, minimising the combat element helps me cope with the "jumpy" side of things without actually having a heart attack... At the moment, my nerves only seem to cope for a couple of hours. Is it me, or is this game scarier than Oblivion was?? (Or did I just forget how that made me jump) (Actually the one thing I remember most clearly about Oblivion was the Thieves Guild khajiit appearing suddenly on my screen after a rest. I screamed out loud and my mouse went flying clear across the room! If Elder Scrolls were films, wild horses wouldn't make me watch them. And yet... I'm addicted. Weird!) ;)
  7. I pretty much hate my bosmer. And I spent forever trying to make her just look ....well, more attractive. Hell it's roleplaying and it's fantasy. I can look fugly and old in everyday life!! For me, personally, the look of my characters makes a huge difference to my attachment to them. I'm living with it though. Waiting for the mods. That's the nicest; people who like them the way they are just won't bother with the mod and people who don't will. Win win! :-)
