So, im actually a 3D rigger, at a Swedish 3D company and me and some of my coworkers want to get together and do some wicked content for the game. What is required in terms of applications and plugins? And what formats are we supposed to use, is there any information about what the engine wants in terms of joint limits etc?
Are you thinking about approaching this content creation commercially? or for fun?

Nice work Digital :)
Thanks man :] popped over to the Bethesda site and got loads of advice, decided to release my own content packs as a modding resource so watch this space

Yeah, I think nude mods are for weird people.. what's the point? I wonder, are they jerking off in front of it or what? A well made underwear is a million times better, it's more classy, more grown up.Sticking to the subject, your work seems awesome, Im so happy to have skilled people like you in the mod community!EDIT: I forgot one thing, what people like the most are nude mods.Hahaha agreed on peoples strange love of nude mods  And thanks man, if you have any requests or see a desperate need for anything...(apart from more nude mods, lol) drop me a message

Can't wait to get it into Zbrush and sculpt some really awesome hard surface detail, and yes as an enviro artist I'm totally with you on the love of clutter

Hahaha, Its funny you should say weapons as I've just taken on a texture project for quite a nice looking model.

Well, in my opinion, you're better off releasing your work as content packs for a start. I started my 3D work by releasing modders resources, and I'm still sticking to it. Also, I'm currently working on two large projects and several smaller ones. I think it's best to start alone and work your way up.
I originally wanted to join a mod group to get some pipeline experience for my portfolio, this isn't 100 percent necessary however as I've worked in big groups before. Since that initial post I have been chatting to the amazing Bethesda community who flooded me with requests and advised me to get my stuff out there as dlc packs for modders. This isn't something I'd thought about before but i really like the artistic freedom working this way creates. So now I'm settled on the idea and thought I'd do a bit of research and what people out there are after.

Hey there :] My names Cez and I'm a post graduate 3D artist for games. I'm now looking for employment as an environment / prop artist and wish to get involved with the Skyrim modding scene to help me expand on my portfolio. I originally wanted to join a group but since chatting to the really helpful guys over at the Bethesda site I have since decided to go it alone and release modular and bespoke content packs as a resource for the modding community. What do you guys think, as its Nexus where a lot of my stuff is likely to be avaliable to download in the future. Would this be more helpful to your project and to you as a modder? and if so what kind of stuff would you like to see?
Examples Of My Work, if anyone has any proposals drop me a PM :]

That is an example of purely awesome work, I just realized I totally suck at 3D moddeling. Now I'm sad :(. Good luck with searching for a team.
Plus if you ever need any help or advise I would be more than happy :]

I play Halo and love team play so clans make total sense. Its a good way to meet people who are awesome at the game and play regular. I've made loads of new friends through clans, my brother even gets paid to play pro with his Xleague Tv Gears Of War Clan. First time I saw him play I was so proud, lol.

Ooooh nasty :( Yeh! def get some rest. Wisdom teeth can cause so many issues, when your up and about drop me a message, no rush :]

-
The construction set is not out yet sadly :(
-
I'm certainly up for working on this mod if your after artists to collaborate with?. Just sent you a PM so let me know
-
Did you get the name of that mod in the end?
-
I'm sure you could do both, no reason why fur couldn't be used to both insulate and decorate :)
-
I was looking for a group to work on a larger mod with, but to just rework existing textures in this fashion looks like a great little solo project idea :) I have all sorts of stuff eating at my time currently. But if i don't find a group ill certainly be back to this one.

I remember playing that on the Sega Dreamcast, awesome game :)

Joining a mod group vs releasing content packs

If your more familiar with Maya stick with that as your 3D package, It has great animation tools also. For your asset workflow If your going to go high poly and bake down then you either have the option of sub division modeling in Maya or taking your work into something like Zbrush or Mudbox. Download sculptress, its free and will give you an excellent idea of how such packages work.
To bake my normal maps i use an excellent utility called Xnormal, ambient occlusion I bake using mental ray within 3DS max. Then to further tool the normal/ambient and create the diffuse/specular, Photoshop. I constantly have my work loaded up in engine, its important as the end result can often look quite different and you need to know how to compensate for this as an artist. I personally love unreal and have also seen some nice results using Marmoset. For presentation renders I use Xoliul Shader 2
