  1. The Soul Gem Overhaul Mod is a mod that makes Soul Gems more interesting by giving the player the ability to control the number of Soul Gems, set them to be contraband, set the number of uses for each Soul Gem and gives players several new spells that completely changes how you use Soul Gems. Players are able to highly customize the number of Soul Gems by overall, normal, black, size and location with a vanilla and random option always present. Players can also customize the new type of Soul Gems called Magicka Gems which are explained below in the very same way and control the spawn location of spell tomes, make the player have the spells already or make the spells available only after a certain level is achieved in a school of magic that the spell corresponds with. While this mod started off as just an alternative to using souls to fuel enchantments, it also became about innovating how we use Soul Gems to make the world as a whole more interesting. Magicka Gems - Soul Gems that have been altered to be able to hold a being's Magicka rather than a soul, allowing these gems to be used as substitutes for Soul Gems for enchantments or used as storage containers for a person's Magicka, giving them an alternative to potions for restoring their Magicka. These gems however are incapable of holding a soul ever again unless transformed back. It was this new type of gem that inspired the creation of this mod. Spells Name: Purify Soul GemSchool: AlterationCost: Description: A spell which turns Black Soul Gems into normal Soul Gems able to only contain animals souls as the gem does not lose it’s capacity. Doing this allows for one gem to hold multiple animal souls however, the soul of a sentient being will be removed from the Soul Gem. Name: Blacken Soul GemSchool: AlterationCost: Description: A spell which turns normal Soul Gems into Black Soul Gems for capturing sentient souls however, doing so frees the animal soul(s) within. Name: Divide Soul GemSchool: AlterationCost: Description: Turns a Soul Gem, Magicka Gem or Life Gem into several of a smaller type. Name: Soul Gem RestorationSchool: AlterationCost: Description: Combines Soul Gems, Magicka Gems or Life Gems into one of a larger type. Name: Lesser Summon Trapped SoulSchool: ConjurationCost: Description: Summons one or more souls trapped within a Soul Gem. They are not summoned as familiars however but rather souls temporarily tethered to the physical realm. If an animal race, they will immediately attack you however, if it is a soul of a sentient species, then you can usually talk to it. If the spirit is killed, it will disappear, leaving the soul gem empty. Name: Summon Trapped SoulSchool: ConjurationCost:Description: Summons one or more souls trapped within a Soul Gem. They are not summoned as familiars however but rather souls temporarily tethered to the physical realm. If an animal race, they will immediately attack you however, if it is a soul of a sentient species, then you can usually talk to it. If the spirit is killed, they will return to the Soul Gem and cannot be summoned until the following day. Name: Greater Summon Trapped SoulSchool: ConjurationCost: Description: Summons one or more souls trapped within a Soul Gem. They are not summoned as familiars however but rather souls temporarily tethered to the physical realm. It cannot however attack you as long as you possess the Soul Gem it resides in unlike when summoned with the lesser versions of this spell. If the spirit is killed, it will return to the Soul Gem and cannot be summoned again for six hours. Name: Lesser Enslave SoulSchool: AlterationCost: Description: Enslaves a soul summoned from a Soul Gem to your will, turning them into a familiar. However, the soul can and will betray you if your Magicka falls to below three hundred fifty or you are unable to defend yourself except by stagger. Name: Enslave SoulSchool: AlterationCost: Description: Enslaves a soul summoned from a Soul Gem to your will, turning them into a familiar. However, the soul can and will betray you if you run out of Magicka or you are unable to defend yourself except by stagger. Name: Greater Enslave SoulSchool: AlterationCost: Description: Enslaves a soul summoned from a Soul Gem to your will, turning them into a familiar. However, the soul cannot betray you like when summoned by the other, lesser versions of this spell. Name: Contract SoulSchool: AlterationCost: Description: Creates a magical contract between you and a soul summoned from a Soul Gem, turning them into a familiar. However, animals can only be made a contract with if you have not committed murder and are not a necromancer. The exception is if your a Werewolf or Werebear as normal bears or wolves will make a contract with you readily if you are a werebeast of their species. Sentient souls are more difficult to make a contract with as you must be able to convince them though some will not need convincing. Name: Lesser Soul To Magicka ConversionSchool: AlterationCost: Description: Converts one or more souls within a normal Soul Gem into either Magicka, transforming them into a Magicka Gem. Name: Greater Soul To Magicka ConversionSchool: AlterationCost: 450Description: Converts one or more souls within a Black Soul Gem into Magicka, turning it into a Magicka Gem. Name: Soul ConversionSchool: AlterationCost: Description: Converts one or more souls within a normal or black Soul Gem into either Magicka, transforming it into Magicka Gem. Name: Lesser Soul Gem ConversionSchool: AlterationCost: Description: Converts an empty Soul Gem into a Magicka Gem. Name: Greater Soul gem ConversionSchool: AlterationCost: Description: Converts a Soul Gem, empty or filled into a Magicka Gem. Name: Drain Magicka GemSchool: AlterationsCost: Description: Transfers the Magicka within a Magicka Gem to the caster or a vial. If put into a vial, it becomes a Vial of Magicka. Name: Transfer To Magicka GemSchool: AlterationCost: Description: Transfers the caster's Magicka into a Magicka Gem for later. Name: Spell Gem AlternativeSchool: AlterationCost: Description: Allows for a Magicka Gem to be used in place of a Soul Gem for enchantments. Name: Magicka EnchantmentsSchool: AlterationCost: Description: A powerful spell that not only allows a Magicka Gem to be used for enchantments in place of a Soul Gem but drain the item's user's Magicka for enchantments when the gem has been depleted. I know it may not be too lore friendly but I never really liked the Soul Gems, I don't like the concept of killing someone to steal their soul to use for enchantments, it feels to evil though I admit, I'm a bit hypocritical because I like being a Werewolf, Vampire, Dark Brotherhood assassin and thief. Anyways, I apologize for not putting cost, I didn't really know what to put. I hope you like it! Note: If no one does this, I'll try to get around to eventually doing it myself but it's quicker for you to do it.
  2. I have heard of a mod that lets you rebuild the college and I think the guild but I haven't tried to find it nevermind play it yet because my computer sucks.
  3. 1: The Blades have used Dragons in the past and their reason for wanting Paarthunax dead is bullshit, that needs to be modded out. It's either they are fully loyal to you regardless of your stance with the Dragons because your the true heir to the throne or they can die by your hand. Yes, this absolute is very Sith-like but damnit! They started it! If I could figure out how to get the stupid console command to work to make them not essential, I would kill them but I have to settle with using the follower tweak mod to force them to be my followers. The reason I believe it should be this way is because you need followers who are by default loyal such as Lydia. 2: Being friends with Paarthunax, you should be able to use the Dragons as well as part of your army and if they don't want to, you can always threaten to kill them and absorb their soul to make them more cooperative. Leaving out the Dragons as possible allies is fairly foolish, no insult intended. 3: Being the leader of the College of Winterhold should ensure loyalty however, there should also be a way to earn their loyalty without becoming their leader as not everyone wants to go through the entire quest line to get their allegiance and anyways, it would help greatly for replayability. 4: Like with the mages of Winterhold college, you should be able to earn their loyalty without even joining the guild by earning the respect and loyalty of The Circle because after the first one or two times, the story line loses it's charm. 5: Again, earn their trust without becoming their leader, maybe by donating a great deal of gold to them or contracting them to get stuff that you want often so that they feel like your someone valuable to them. I don't think it's too much of a stretch to employ them as spies however, I think since you have them as allies, their spies, the beggers would be your true source of information delivered to you by the Thieve's Guild. 6: This one I don't believe you should be able to earn the trust of as they are very different from the other guilds instead, you can perform the Black Sacrament to hire them to kill annoying enemies that you can't just kill in battle. Of course, if you are The Listener, then you automatically have their loyalty but should still have to talk to the Night Mother first before using them to gain the throne as to not invoke the wrath of Sithis. That's about it. Maybe somehow be able to convince imperial soldiers and Stormcloaks to join you but I'm not sure how to go about doing that.
  4. @Slyluver: There is quite a few mods with Requiem in the name, please give the full name when suggesting a mod.
  5. Thanks for telling me about it, looks promising. At the very least, much better than vanilla. I'm surprised I overlooked it when I was making sure nothing like this was already made. Anyways, thanks again.
  6. So one of the biggest things that irks me is that when it comes to bonuses for different skills, they are largely the same and some of the racial abilities are practically worthless. One example of a worthless racial ability is the Wood Elves' ability to control animals as animals will run away from you, making it hard to use the ability and it doesn't last very long with the more powerful ones such as mammoths seem to be immune altogether. With each race, you more or less progress at the same rate at a majority of the skills so you don't actually or at least I don't actually feel a difference in playing as them. That is why I wish for someone to make a mod based on this admittable incomplete mod. The main thing that hasn't been completed is racial abilities though six have them. Please note that this is NOT to affect the NPC, only the player character. Anyways, here it is. The reason that I reset a majority of the races to level one is to me, it didn't make sense for us to start at anything other than level one for a majority of our stats as I have been hardwired by most games to start at level one for everything. The good part of this mod is that it makes each race feel more unique in it's game play, like they actually have talent(s) and while some of the same talents, you may have noticed that I've made sure to give some races more talent than others with the same talent(s) as per the information on the races. For example, the Altmers gain more experience than the Dunmer when leveling the magical schools. The bad part is that this mod makes the game much more difficult just on it's own since it takes longer to get stronger (unintentional rhyme) you need to grind more than normal, artificially lengthening the game. However, this does give you a bigger sense of accomplishment since your more likely to be killed by normal enemies and as such, makes it feel like a hard fought journey rather than a quick paced one with little difficulty. It will also likely increase the difficulty of the lower difficulties (I don't play past adept) and certainly make higher difficulties far more hardcore. If you haven't noticed, I have said nothing about the modifiers from the vanilla game but that is because I want them disabled, replaced by the above. Thanks to anyone who decides to take up this project! Note that I would do this myself but I got too many things vying for my attention with little of it actually getting done already to take on such a project. If this project cannot be done then I'm sorry for wasting your time.

    Hello

Thanks for the advice, I'll definitely do that. :)

    Hello

Hello everyone. That it's, that's my entire thread. You can click out now. What? You are still here? Fine, I'll say something about myself then. Demanding jerks! :) What to say first? Well, I found this website some time last year because of a friend who heavily mods his copy Skyrim and won't admit that he over mods it, no matter how much I tell him he does. But this isn't about my friend. I love adding mods to my game and have an interest in creating mods though I have no idea where to start. This interest probably stems from my desire to go into the gaming industry, something I've neglected to get into because I am such a bad procrastinator and because I am hesitant because I don't want to change how my business makes games and runs because of the crappy political correctness. I've actually wanted to make games since I was a young kid though my mom thought it was just a phase. Although I don't like dealing with coding too much, I much prefer writing and as a hobby do role plays on Wikia and even write fanfiction (loosely using the word write because I have yet to be consistent...). When I am not doing that which is most of the time, I usually watch YouTube or play one game or another. I don't have a job currently to occupy my time but I do hope that I can use my hobby of writing fanfictions and role plays into being a professional author on the side of being a game maker. I also have a YouTube channel I do as a hobby which is not doing so well in which I post videos of gameplay, mostly Yugioh in the past which I've taken down because I worry about copyright issues and talk about things philosophically such as religion. I can't really think of anything else to say other than I joke around a lot but not all the time and I don't particularly care too much for Humans so I'll leave it off there. Congrats if you read all that. :)
