Hello again I'm going to miss this when it's over :laugh: I'm sure that EW is installed. Recently I tried to install steam and the game on external HDD but it didn't work. It goes like this HDD/Steam/steamapps/common/Xcom-Enemy-Unknown/XCOMData/XEW and then the're three folders: Binaries, Engine and XComGame. I've tried to upload an screen capture but it didn't work. Before external installation, it was on the default folder created by Steam app, and it was always the same, just loads EU, no clue about EW. I've tried to contact Feral Interactive in Spain, but still no asnwer

Still no solution As you said I tried to uninstall everything and then install again. I've got no error message and I can't choose EU or EW; it always starts EU. I tried to find the route to directly start just EW but there's no option to do that. Right now I'm not thinking in LW, I just want to run EW.

Again, thank you Dubious I've asked 2k and yet no answer, and steam keeps saying that I should ask 2k. I'll try again uninstalling and re-installing all again... You're giving me hope, I'm not loosing faith :laugh: Congrats for your work from Spain

In the article all solutions talk about changing .exe files, but i'm using mac and the only EW fils i've founded is a browser but no way to modify the launcher Seam is not giving me the option to choose EU or EW

I'll try to follow the article, but I'm not using any TexMod, just LW mod. And that was at the beginning. Now I'm just trying to start EW

Thank you again Dubious, I think I've discovered the real issue: l think that Steam is not loading EW. I bought a pack with EU, Elite Soldier Pack, Slingshot DLC and EW. And the first coupe of days it worked fine with LW. But now, every time I try to launch the game it only loads EU. That could be the reason why LW doesn't load? Now I'm trying to get all the pack running, and then I'll try to install LV again with your suggestions. Thanks

Hello again This is my last shot... I went back to vanilla. I deleted all files, even hidden ones, of XCOM or LW. I uninstalled the game and then Steam. I installed all again following the exact steps the LW readme says. Installed the game, and checked cache. Launched the game two times before installing LW, then went offline and after that installed the mod. All installation was correct, LW included. But nothing!!!! I've launched the game even with WIFI disconnected, just in case. BUT NOTHING! The game launches normally as if the mod wasn't installed. :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: I'm giving up for real... unless someone gives a reason of hope ;) Thanks for reading :sad:

So... I'm giving up... i've tried everything... deleting all I can imagine and reinstalling everything again... in fact, when applying LW mod it says that the installation was correct, but when l launch the game the menu is pre-mod and i can't select any of the LW options... Ideas?

Now I'm reading all docs of the compressed file of the mod, and it says that it should work on Steam... I don't get it

well... I've uninstalled long war, then XCOM EW, then Steam. Next step install all again. Before even applying the mod I've turned off my wifi connection, and when it was installing it asked if I wanted to restore an old back up. I said "no" and when installed long war, without being connected to internet, I've launched the game... And nothing happened, the mod doesn't work. The only options on game properties for checking for updates were: check when launching the game / when launching steam / or high priority search for updates... I can't turn off update checking... I'm new using mods, in fact this is my first time, and I'm desperate because I've play this mod for two days and its is AWESOME. And now it seems that Steam or my computer is ignoring Long War. And I followed the instructions that Dubious linked (thanks again)

wow Thank you Dubious. I've tried all you said and anything worked. And I have an entra issue; i can't turn off automatic updates. In my steam menu that is not an option... I'm going to try to reinstall steam wish me luck

After just a couple of days playing, Long War option stopped working. The game launches as if I haven't installed de mod and the saved files are missing. I use 2011 imac I've downloaded the game from steam and it worked perfectly. Then I've installed Long War and it worked perfectly. Two days after it crashed and then Long War disappeared. The game has gone back to pre-mod version. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the mod. Doesn't work. I tried to go with Steam offline, doesn't work. Any ideas?
