  1. I know exactly what happened to this guy, He hit the Macro Recorder Button by accident and set his "g2" key to type that stuff, how he managed it I have no clue. I have a normal keyboard and mouse lying around I can try the game with those. Assuming it doesn't work (as that's becoming theme around here) what's next, try the game on my laptop?
  2. ok i mentioned that save because on my xp computer I used it to play the game (it's rather unstable) when i backtracked to the atrium it didn't crash, i didn't try that on this computer so just ignore it it clearly is not helpful here. my keyboard is a logitech g510s mouse is a logitech g600 mmo gaming mouse all the extra buttons can only be used if you set up macros for them so there's no 'new' keys that would require the game to support them no FOSE no mods on this install nothing like that lets try this make a save in the atrium, however you want, give me it I will load it and see if it crashes Is it possible that a keybind can make the game crash, it got to be something else right? Is there anyway to like get a log file or some telemetry from the game to know what's happening under the hood when it crashes?
  3. just turn off active protection, then download it and install it.
  4. ok, I used those files, rebound my keys, quit and restarted the game, and I still crashed
  5. what is going on now is confused me becuse I don't know what these TWO files are for, can you: can you show me what vanilla files look like, tell me specifically what each ini does, tell me what this is and why I see it EVERYWHERE, if i'm not supposed to do it: Please answer each of these questions, so that I can comunicate to you more clearly. also tell me what you think I did step by step because I think we are having a communication problem
  6. Ok answer me this and things might become clear in a vanilla fallout 3 my games folder is there supposed to be: An INI file named FALLOUT.ini an INI file named FalloutPrefs.ini also becuse I have no idea what's going on anymore -- tell me what they do, are they supposed to be like the same? (as this is how I found them if it's not supposed to be that way I'm clueless as to how the change happened) Note: I never edited these by hand except for the busethreadedai modification that as i understand it you must do if you have more than to cpu cores or the game will be unstable. Other than that I have done nothing to the files
  7. Here is ordered list of what I did last night Un-Installed Fallout 3 with Revo Uninstaller Pro (Free Trial) Install Fallout 3 Again Activated the DLC and made the load order correct Played the game and did not experience crash on entering atrium Quit the game (was going to post here but decide i should test it to end of valt) Re-bound keys with ingame settings Crashed when I entered atrium Deleted FalloutPrefs.ini (this holds data for keybinds) so the game would build a new vanila file Played the game again, no crash in atrium Without quitting the game re-bound keys with ingame settings menu Loaded save again (without quitting) Crashed when I entered atrium
  8. No I did not directly edit the ini files, All I did was bind the keys with ingame settings menu I gave you FalloutPrefs.ini becuse that's where data for keybinds is stored which is the only thing that changed, once again I never edited these files by hand, I assumed that you would need it to do something with it? Oh gosh i would never rename an ini file for a game that's like shooting yourself in the face. You want my Fallout3.ini? Attached
  9. I have to most curious thing to report: So after i did the uninstall using the software you linked to I ran the game, I didn't bother rebinding my keys (I don't use the normal layout) becuse i thought it would crash It didn't I exited the game and i was gona chome here and say "i can't believe that worked" but then i thought I'd better test to the end of the vault, I simply can't use the default controls so I rebound them, then the game crashed like before. Intrigued I deleted FalloutPrefs.ini (the thing with control bindings) and ran the game again, no crash (in that room I didn't go farther) then without exiting the game I reloaded my save, rebond my keys and it crashed again. here is my FalloutPrefs.ini:
  10. An uninstaller should delete files in appdata correct, steam did not, so is there any files else that i need to get rid of (registry entries maybe) Am I over thinking this still Again sorry for emotional outburst I hope that we can move past this
  11. s#*! I way over thought this sorry now i see why you got so frustrated which led to my... emotional outburst.... side note: wasn't bait I meant all of that (but enough of that)
  12. Perhaps i have did not word the post well, regardless I don't see how attacking my person helps. I now see that I misunderstood you post about how everything is corrupted and I have destroyed everything I treasure Saying that i think the game files should not be replaced is simply bunkum and balderdash you may or may not have noticed but I asked for to file locations you want me to delete, you know so I can delete them and get new files, like you wanted I would very much like to know where all the assumptions you are making of me are coming from becuse you're right I asked for help -- not to be painted an idiot Now becuse this isn't an instant messaging service and so that i may have steps to follow immediately after this one; assuming that replacement/elimination of game files does not fix the problem what would the next step be. (please stop insulting please)
  13. you over react save files (for games), music, pictures not operating system files or drivers (why would you think that? you not insisting that i have to make new family pictures everytime i buy a computer are you) the things you would keep if you bought a new computer that said I have wanted to delete all fallout 3 data before and i don't know all the locations that it keeps data what i know is that its in my documents and appdata/local is that the only places? also assume that this is not the problem, what would be the next step?
  14. No mods, no tweaks, no NMM, no mods, nothing plugins.txt is included --------------- when I tried after fixing the load order the order was: Fallout3 Anchorage ThePitt BrokenSteel PointLookout Zeta to launch the game I clicked "Launch Fallout 3" in the FOMM program What happened is basicly exactly like the video that I shared -------------------- becuse it works for you then it must be one of these? hardware (drivers included)Some settings in a config file somewhere (when I was moving all of my data between computers I may have missed some fallout 3 data that i was trying to eliminate)my game files were somehow broken in a way unknown to me
