I'm also interested in removing the aim penalties. Sometimes 6 from 6 soldiers miss their targets even with a clear line of sight.

The 2nd concept looks really good. I'd like to see pictures, but maybe it's just because I love JA :) One remark. I could be better to show the HP as number not as bar to save some space. This reminds me on the Guerilla NPCs in JA which helped you. Also a training camp on the avenger to improve the ranks and equipment of the resistance soldiers would be nice.

+1 I'd also like to see this. For me JA soldier overview was perfect. @nKZz: What I miss in your concept is the number of enemies a soldier sees. If there is enough space additionally with the hit chance. This would save some time to plan the round.
