  1. Hey all! I would appreciate some help in learning how to make my first heightmap. I have worked on interior cells before, but never tried making a heightmap for a mod, and it seems like there are conflicting descriptions of the best way to do it out there on the internet. I found this tutorial and have been trying to use it to create a heightmap. I had some trouble figuring out geocontrol, so I skipped to using this process: >create a greyscale heightmap in photoshop according to those specifications, raw, 16bit, ibm, etc >use TESAnnwyn with the command line described in this tutorial to generate an esp file from my heightmap Unfortunately it has not worked in the creation kit when I have tried to open the tesannwyn esps annwyn generates. The creation kit has given me some errors, saying the esp is "not a valid TES file," and it doesn't show my world in the list of worldspaces when I try to open it. So my question is how to create heightmaps, because I'm finding this a bit frustrating. I haven't been able to find a good explanation that works so far. I would appreciate some advice. Thanks!
  2. All my settings were default when I reinstalled the kit, and these are interior cells I'm working with, so I don't think LOD affects it.
  3. No, it's definitely not that. Also, this problem still persists after reinstalling the creation kit from scratch. I'm guessing no one else has had this problem?
  4. It's a no-go, the same thing happens even when I create a new mod file, and as I mentioned, it also happens when I try to use skyrim installed on a separate computer (that was also a different mod file). It affects every mod file I've made. So ever other mod file I've created in the past up to this point suddenly has this issue as well, it seems.
  5. Hey all, I am working on a mod, but I have encountered a serious problem when I'm making levels. This bug happens with every level I make and it seems to have started with no provocation, to levels that were working fine previously. Whenever I load my level in Skyrim, instead of the level that I've actually made showing up, recently all that happens is my character falls through blackness - absolute blackness. Like this: http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/884109154777144840/3025EA00762FC2A6104B8A826BAB3D14F013EA33/ Previously, the level worked, and I haven't moved my cocmarker or anything. But a second glitch coincides with this: Generally, I start a new cell by duplicating aaamarkers. Now, whenever I try to do that, instead of seeing the cell, the render window is just full of blackness. Like this: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/14470091/example.png And in the creation kit, the background behind my levels in the render window is black instead of grey, like this: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/14470091/example2.png This just started happening randomly while I was in the middle of editing my level. The level I was working on loaded fine before, and is now suddenly broken. This problem persists whether I restart the creation kit and on another computer which I also ran the creation kit in my steam account on. In any case, does anyone have any insight about this problem? It will be impossible for me to create anything until it goes away, and I wonder if anyone else has had this issue.
  6. Ahh, hitting F5 works like a charm. Many thanks! It's a shame that it doesn't work more smoothly, but it'll do.
  7. Hey, I'm a relatively inexperienced modder. I've spent a lot of time in the Creation Kit thus far just crafting dungeons and I haven't shipped any mods, but now I am interested starting to make polished mods worth shipping. Anyway, though this may indeed be a noob question, my question is about the previews of exterior worldspaces in the kit. There seems to be a very big, recurring issue with large static items vanishing and not coming back, or coming back randomly and unpredictably, even if the camera is moved near them. I'm running into this a lot with large rocks in the landscape and the things around them just vanishing and not being there consistently. Is there a way to address this? In general, also, is there a way to make things pop in farther away? This is what I mean: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/14470091/ck-1.png https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/14470091/ck-2.png https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/14470091/ck-3.png
