So I've recently gotten the urge to start a modded playthrough of Fallout: New Vegas in anticipation for Fallout 4 (I'm waiting a year or so to pick it up so I can get it with all the DLC and bug fixes). Thing is, I've been iffy about playing Bethesda games modded ever since an incident that occurred a couple years back when I was playing Fallout 3 modded. I had played about half-way through the main quest, was having a blast with the game, until a sudden brick wall stopped my playthrough cold. After viewing the cut scene of the Enclave invading Project Purity, I lost the ability to save. Attempting to save after viewing that cut scene caused my game to crash. I tried numerous methods of working around the problem to no avail. I had backup saves from earlier, but at that point any motivation I had to keep playing was just drained from me. I haven't touched the game in almost 3 years. My question is, is there anything I can do to prevent something similar happening with New Vegas? I've already disabled all forms of autosave, have installed CASM, installed Mission Mojave, and also installed NVAC and the Stutter Remover. Is there anything else I can reasonably do to avoid having my playthrough stopped dead by a broken save?
