  1. I real happy with the SkyUI inventory mod but it's just too little and makes me want more. I was using QD Inventory which is nice but seemed to get values confused. But I was disappointed that SkyUI only handles the inventory when QD Inventory handled Trading, Selling/Buying, etc. which are basically the same interface. So why didn't the SkyUI developer implement the changes to the rest of these similar inventory screens? On the mod page he says his next mod will update the Magic screen - which to me looks like a totally different problem. Why not fix all the inventory screens first?
  2. Yesterday I finally bought a house, Honeyside. I noticed toward's the end of last nights session (after midnight sometime ET) the game got super choppy - unplayable really. So I left Adele sitting in a chair in my house. Today I realized I couldn't even start Skyrim via my normal 4GB launcher so I did some reading here and discovered that the 4GB is no longer needed. So I ran Skyrim from Steam's launcher. Everything seemed fine except Adele has vanished. I also had to start launching the game from skse_loader.exe to get SkyUI to work... but no Adele. :( Anyone have this problem? Any hope to get her back? I did notice that in an earlier save she was there. But I don't want to go back. Thanks.
  3. Thanks for the replies. I've been using 4GB Syrim for many hours now and it has solved all my problems, even the texture glitches.
  4. After placing this post I tried the 4GB Skyrim application and have not had a texture problem or crash since. If you're running more that 4GB of ram in your system this seems to be the fix. Apparently it does nothing to your game files - it just lauches Skyrim with settings that allow the game to access all of your memory. You can find 4GB Skyrim on the Nexus download page. It's well reviewed and it works for me.
  5. I just downloaded the 4GB Skyrim application in hopes that it fixes my problem with textures turning black (or pink) and mostly to fix the frequent crashes to desktop. I'm running in Win7 on a i7 2600, GTX580 with 12GB RAM. The README.txt says that I should just run Skyrim4GB.exe to launch the game regardless of where I unzipped the 4GB files. 1. Does 4GB modify any of my existing Skyrim files? 2. Do I need to run Skyrim4GB.exe to launch the game every time? or 1. Does 4GB modify any of my existing Skyrim files? So that next time I just run like I do now? 3. I've read this is a cure for the crashing to desktop. Could this also be a cure the the HD Textures going black? Thanks all who can provide some insight before I launch into something I can't undo.
  6. rhophius, I have an i7 2600, GTX580 and 12GB RAM, WIN7-64. When you speak of the 4BG RAM fix are you referring to this Skyrim4GB download? How is it used? I did not download it because it said it was source code. I don't have a compliler and no experience with source code. Also, the description makes it seem dodgy. Can you explain this fix in detail? Thanks.
  7. At least a few times every session Skyrim will simply disappear. No freeze just gone back to the desktop without a trace. I restart and I'm back to last save. Is this a recurring problem? I'm running a Gforce GTX580 at ultra settings with excellent frame rates. Sometimes I think it's crashing when I'm galloping into an area with a major vista...but then at times it will crash as soon as I exit a door and am about to appear outside. would love some help with this, my quicksave finger is sore. Thanks.
