This is what I heard back from Myopic ---------------- Hi, Right now, as far as I can tell, no. Unless you have the patience of a saint (and a hex editor) and wanted to fiddle with the EFSH records to see what you can change. While I see no reason why you couldn't make the effect static when the CK comes out, I think you're right to be concerned about feasibility w/r/t individualising it - there's no way to tell if that'll be possible. My money's on no, but that's a total assumption on my part. P.S. More realistically you could look for an already existing effect that does something similar and see about replacing the relevant enchantment effect(s) with that. ---------------- Looks like there is hope, but maybe not until we get the CK? I don't imagine the blood effects are customized to each weapon, they probably work similarly to the current enchant effects. Maybe with the CK there could just be a way to swap the weapon models out with actual different models once they were enchanted, but then there would need to be a different one for each color. Won't be happening for a while if that's the case, just out of sheer work to be done.

With how enchanting effects work currently I don't imagine it would be too difficult to to make the enchant graphic show up in the actual game world as well since it's just a single texture that kind of floats around atop the item, especially since you can see it in the item menu anyway.

I'm sure these could all be made options fairly simply if they were all possible. :D I'd be worried about it becoming too much later in the game when every piece of armor I have is enchanted and I start to run into more and more enemies with enchanted gear as well. My personal taste is less overt than most people's I'm sure (especially considering I already shy away from most of the armor sets in the game because they are a bit over the top; the Elven/Dwarven sets are about as "fancy" as I like my armor to get and the Elven looks like heavy armor IMO.) Looking like this, except also rainbow-colored, would be too much for my taste: Again though: these are just my preferences/opinions.

Thanks! I sent him a PM asking whether or not it would be possible. I'll post again here in the thread if and when I hear anything.

LE Skyrim Difficulty Balance Overhaul
Magicnubs replied to Nokturnalex's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
I agree in general about the mage NPCs. I find it odd that I can easily die much faster to any random mage NPC than to a dragon. The only really effective method against this curently is to stack magic resist on a full set of armor, and thus there is pretty much no way to play the game effectively on master without fairly high-level enchanting (or archery, but this usually still leaves a pretty high chance of my companion dying). I'm not saying any method should be easy, just give me multiple paths to success! I don't claim to know how to fix this; that is for people smarter than I to figure out. Maybe implement a standard magic damage reduction when blocking with any kind of weapon? -
This is a fantastic idea for a mod! Support!

No love? Or is this even possible without the CK?
-
I support this! It really breaks the immersion for me that I can be the best at everything and hold the highest position at every institution. Maybe make different ranks within each faction/guild that you can progress up based upon number of perks points spent in certain constellations? I also dislike the fact that I'm "the chosen one!" It feels like a cop-out story mechanic.
-
I like this idea a lot! I actually tried doing this when I first realized I could equip different spells to different hands in Skyrim.
-
I support this! My house feels so dim; I hate being in it. I'm really surprised they didn't include this. Were they concerned about the game crashing trying to render too many light sources at once?

LE Enchanted Weapons get runes on them.
Magicnubs replied to SnakeLegend's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
YES! I fully support this and any mod that swaps out the current ugly enchant graphics! Actually I just posted my own request for this here and yours popped up while I was writing mine! Haha. -
I searched in Mod Talk and Mod Requests sub-forums for "enchant" and "runes" and I didn't find anything, so here it is. EDIT: So, someone posted a similar request here while I was writing mine. Does anyone else really dislike the current enchanted weapon/armor warpy graphical overlay? I find the current enchant graphics just to be kind of distracting and ugly and I don't feel like they reflect the effort put in to the rest of the game. Currently I just have them modded not to show up at all. Request: Would it be possible to swap out the current moving/warping "enchant" overlay with a few static glowing runes per weapon/item and make them show up on armor? The colors could even match up to the current color schemes for each enchant. A really good opportunity to sneak in some real-world Nordic references into Skyrim has been missed here! Regardless of my personal tastes shown below, wouldn't this be an awesome mod? My personal tastes would be only a few dimly glowing, not-too-color-saturated runic characters per enchant. This would keep them from getting old quick, being too distracting and looking weird if the enchant colors don't match up perfectly, especially if they showed up on armor. Something like this (but maybe still toned down with fewer characters that are less bright, but the color is about right): THE BOW IN THIS PICTURE is about perfect in terms of amount of runes I'd like to see, though they could be dimmer and actual characters instead of just shapes/lines. There is too much going on for me on the other weapons.
