Seeing as the leveling goes on forever, you're not locked into anything. Choose a primary weapon type and then expand once you've mastered it.

 

But yes, I could see people asking for Pistols and Rifles/automatics, as well as explosives and heavy weapons being combined.

exactly! i just like the idea of using a pistol as a backup weapon
