  1. I'm in the same boat. Been modding Skyrim to get just the mods I feel the game "needs" in order to be enjoyable ... and each time I ease into a stable game, it's only an hour or two before it starts "crash city" (as in, crashes, then CTDs on startup, or CTDs within the first few seconds, to where it's no longer playable). I don't use the huge mods like Falskaar and all those, I don't use mods that dramatically alter gameplay. I typically just use UFO (because I'd like more than one follower, usually I have three followers), a few follower mods (because the normal ones look like crap), and some armor/weapon mods. I also never use anything that's less than 1,000 endorsements. Skyrim on its own was fun for the first day, learning about it. The NPCs all look like absolute crap though. I know it's a different "time" and it's not in a polished city ... but I'm not going to marry an old hag or keep a follower that looks like she was dragged through a mud puddle and then hit in the face with a meat grinder. It's just sad when you spend more time fixing things than you do actually playing.
  2. Hello all, I'm looking for a mod that increases (or a way without a mod) view distance underwater. Right now, I tried using WATER and Pure Waters (not at the same time) as well as a "Green Water Fix". None of them increased my view distance to any reasonable limit. The problem isn't that I can't see anything underwater. Right in front of me is almost perfect. The problem is that a very short distance ahead it's pure green and so there's only like ten or twenty feet of visibility and then I can't see anything. While I know vision underwater is blurred, I'd rather have the visibility distance be significantly farther, but still blurred, rather than just a mass of green. The way it is now, it doesn't look like it continues to blur so much as it looks like there's a serious green fog in the distance ... takes away a lot of immersion. Any thoughts?
  3. Hello all, I'm looking for a mod/mods that just add spells (not looking for overhauls or big things, might get conflicts) that target the player AND (specifically) allies/followers. Specifically I'm looking for buffs (not heals). Things that might give them extra health or damage output or protection or ... etc etc etc. I tried looking at the most endorsed files under Magic Spells, but couldn't find it. Anyone know of any?
  4. I'm playing on bootcamp ... works perfectly fine and I play on high graphics with essentially no lag and about 80-90 mods on it. Not sure why you can't run it on a late 2011 ... shouldn't be any problem at all. Also, disk space isn't what deals with the "beast" that Skyrim is, that comes from ram and your processor, but even then you can play it fine on low-mid graphics even if you have the lowest MBPro from 2011. Cider works, but just figured I'd toss in that bootcamp works perfectly fine because you're just splitting disk space, not ram or processing power.
  5. Whew! Okay, finally got it working. I ended up using setscale to make the floors larger for some areas. It looks close enough since it will all be that scale for that room. disable/enable worked. Now just have to find the right walls and ceiling ... this will be fun. Thanks for y'all's help!
  6. Okay, so I finally got the floor straight ... that was a heck of a lot easier with the setangle! Now there is only one minor problem ... I keep falling through the floor. I tried using Enable and then exiting and reentering the house, but I keep falling through to the first floor. How do I fix this? If I keep falling through the floor not only will I not be able to extend the rooms, but I won't be able to go far since eventually I'd fall off into infinity. Is there something that I'm missing? The room that is directly below it has a ceiling and I set the floor and then did Enable, exited and reentered. I keep falling through though.
  7. Hello! I'm having a bit of trouble. I've been trying to modify Solitude to make it a bit bigger/more open. I've deleted a couple walls here and there, but I'd like to add more physical space. I was thinking a nice touch would be on the top floor, the wall opposite the side that the bedroom is on, removing that and pushing it back into a sort of 'throne room' type of deal. Then, doing something similar with the basement and adding in like a dragon statue and some odd and end stuff. Unfortunately ... I have no clue what I'm doing. I've tried adding in floors using placeatme and player.placeatme, but it is always completely crooked, it's never flush, and more than half the time I end up deleting a wall or floor that I wanted to keep and end up starting over. I use quicksave each time I get something right, but I'm not getting anywhere. Can someone assist me with trying to get these things lined up and straight? I know the CK supposedly comes out in January, but all I really want to do is create a little more space. I'm sure if I could figure out how to do it just once or twice I would be able to do it from that point. I don't even want to think of how my walls would look, I can't even place the floor right. I tried looking 'straight', but the floor is always crooked. I know I can do setpos x y or z to change it, but it's just never right. Any assistance for a new learner?
