Infamy, Karma, nothing or something else?
Vangarrett99 replied to Sheralynn's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Yeap, reminded me of Fable as well. Reputation, infamy, karma whatever it is, they should be implemented as if how they track crimes in individual hold. And let's say if you have a reputation of pillaging villages, then there should be wanted posters of you in that hold and nearby ones. People will know you, fear, cower, shun and run away from you for fear of their life. There is a natural aura of evil that exudes from you. If the reputation is a positive one, then your fame precedes you. The people of the local hold and nearby ones will hail you as a hero, welcome you, provide free shelter, food, gifts and naturally ask you to take on quests. There is a natural aura of good that exudes from you that make everyone comfortable with you. lol -
MMmm... you guys are good. Took your history lessons huh? :D I like the link between Bosmer to Celtic Druids. Make sense,,, but don't think Wood Elves are cannibalistic? Now... how about the Dwemer or Dwarf? They are kinda like a 'lost civilisation' aren't they? They are technically advanced even in the ancient days. Stargate anyone? :whistling:

Germanic tribes are noted for their axes not bows. English and Welsh longbowman are closer. *shrug* Yeap, in medieval Europe, they use more of crossbows than bows/long bows. The crossbow is a simpler weapon to master. The English were the only nation to favour bows/long bows than crossbows in Europe. And of course.... archery is sometime like a basic skill to the plains people. In those days, western calvaries couldn't match up with the easten ones because they lack horseback archery. The best shock calvary is still the Mongols. They had superb heavy calvary and very mobile light horse archers. Come to think about it... Skyrim should integrate horseback combat and archery? That would be fun? :whistling:

What we are lacking in Skyrim are Airships, Gunpowder, Flintlock Firearms? So many centuries has passed, and there is no advancement in technology at all? It would be interesting to load a blunderbuss with gunpowder, ball bearings and then fire it? lol Where are the Airships?

I used to dig Elderscroll History, then I took an arrow in the knee? :wallbash: Alrighty... serious business now. Let us draw the parallels to our medieval world... The Imperial is based closely to the Roman Empire. Style of clothings, military grabs, buildings, terminology (Legate, Legion, Legionnaire). Even the names resemble Roman. They worship Talos, who is the first Emperor. Roman worship their first Emperor Julius Caesar (Posthumous) as a godlike figure. (Liken that of Jupiter, who is the equavalent of Zeus) Nords are vikings. Period. (Everything about them is Norse) Redguards are based loosely on Corsairs that plagued Mediterranean Sea's southern coasts (Algier, Trebizond, Morroco). Bretons should be the Brits, Normans, even Gauls. They belong to the same stock. Argonians are perhaps closed loosely on Mayan or Egyptian? They are beastmen and rather primitive. Their primitive culture could draw a parallel with the Mayans and Egyptians. Khajits would be the Nomadic People of the African Plains and Savannas. I believe I do not need to go into details on the resemblances? Next... we have the mer or elves. The Altmer could be the Atlanteans? They are the fabled people of Lost Atlantis which was described in some records as a breed of highly-intelligent, sophisticated race who has a highly-developed culture before they are lost to us? lol The Dunmer are the Turks. Dark-skinned, tenacious, warlike and extremely adept in combat. On Vvanderfell in the wastelands and deserts, there are many nomdic tribes, and many Turks are nomads until the formation of the Ottoman Empire? Now... the Bosmer... this race I can't seems to find a parallel to it in our real world... (Robin Hood and his Merry Men? English?) Someone help?

there is a suggestion for you. Khajit caravans. Make one and travel around the world(until u get atked by bandits). Maybe you should get some bodyguards too. Good suggestion!

I'm gonna mod myself a 2-horse drawn wagon house that has all the amenities of a home in it. Wait... maybe I should mod myself a Floating Castle in the Air that follows me around in the sky when I go adventuring? lol

Good ones. Betcha not heard of this one yet: I used to visit Riften for the Black Briar Mead, then I saw Maven in her sleep flushing down at the meadery. Hmm... The lavatory is two stalls away? Hmm... wonder why Black Briar Mead is golden with a perculiar smell?

My next character wears no armour. He is kind of schizo like Cicero. Rattling non-stop in high-pitched voice, speaks in the 3rd person and does'nt make sense... lol Imagine a guady dressed swashbuckling bard equiped with a lute and a shortsword (WHERE DA HELL ARE THOSE SHORTSWORD?) Always high on Moon Sugar and Skooma... Equipment will be bows, shortsword, no destruction magic, just illusion and conjuration... Yeap... that will be interesting to play?

The Crucial Question that Demands an Answer!
Vangarrett99 replied to CalibanX's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Well... there are the Falmers. Or are you looking for something like the 'Ambomitable Snowman' aka Yeti? You should visit Planet Earth, and you might find one on the tundra of Siberia or perhaps Greenland or Antartica? Not on Skyrim, not the last time I checked. -
Magic as I know it, is a mystical power channelled from the Weave that comprises of cosmic energies from heaven (to some extend, hell) as well as earthly ones drawn from the land, elements and living organisms. Magic has the ability to alter, transmute, transform, beguile, create, destroy, heal and control. It is omni-potent, it can do everything and anything. It is an unparalled power equal to a deity. The magic I seen in Skyrim is nothing like that. Hell, I can't even cast a spell to levitate or fly up a mountain top? And I can't make polymorph people into animals? I can't make transmute my form into water or gas to fit into the environment. I can't use telekinesis to propel objects around with the power of my will. I can't create mirror images of myself to beguile the enemies. I can't do simple cantrips such as making simple illusions between my palms. All I can do... shoot fire, frost, lightning from my hand. Make iron ore turn to silver. Trap souls, banish daedra, create a light above my head, call forth ethereal weapon, animate dead corpses. I'm not complaining... but it seems a Magic-User of Skyrim can only do this much. Hell, magic should be something much grandeur and potent... :wallbash:

Go into your nearest Potion Seller and ask for a Face-Lift Lotion?

How Combats and Magic should have looked in Skyrim!

Go take an arrow to the knee. -
Honestly, the arrow and the knee thingy is getting tiring, but still.... it is kind of entertaining to see the meme sprouted again and again... :wallbash: How about this: I used to raid Giant Camps for Mammoth Cheese, then I saw a Mammoth unloading the content of its phallus onto the bowl. Was wondering why Mammoth Cheese got that extra sourish and pungent smell? :whistling:

Sweet Lydia. Before Marriage: "Good life to you thane", "I am sworn to carry your burden" After Marriage: "Stop swigging mead you pig, and help with the housechore!", "AM I sworn to be your slave?" :wallbash:

1st Shout: LOL :D Last Shout : HUUUUULK! :D Yeap, you got it. Hahahaha~

You guys are getting it wrong. The Thalmor is the most powerful faction on Summerset Isle, but they are not representative of all the Altmer race. If you read the history after the Oblivion Crisis, there was an internal strife within the Houses of Summerset Isle, whereby the Thalmor won the power struggle and became dominant. They revived the old Aldmeri Dominion and is bend on world conquest. Bottomline is... not all high elves are evil and snobbish. Though in Skyrim... most of the Thalmor are portrayed as such.

Moooooooooooooore Moon Sugar for Khajit~ :psyduck:

High Elves, Bretons and Orcs: Top Three Races 1st Edition
Vangarrett99 replied to PunjabPirate's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Nah... there is no such thing as better race. Would an Orc Wizard be a better Wizard with a redundant Berserk ability? And does a Breton Fighter hit harder with a weapon with magic resistance? Doh, make up your mind. Some race are better in certain roles, but there is no better race.
