  1. I was wondering pretty much the same things few days ago. I choose to go with MO. And I think I made the right choice. It just makes some things really fast and easy. I've installed a few mods by now, all of them worked, though. You have to do some tweaks with the .ini files, to make it work. At least I did. I'm now running seemingly stable game. I used THIS tutorial to make it work. I used EFF instead of AFT. It works better with CH. The mods I'm currently using are THESE. Now I'm going to add PerMa on top of that. The difference is that I'm using Win 7 and I've never used a Mac, so I can't tell you anything about that.
  2. I installed some other mods - MO. I changed my settings a little to THIS. I also installed ENBoost. Yesterday I got a CTD, but today I used all the bells and whistles to fix and clean any issues as suggested here. I even entered TCL and player.setav speedmult 1500 and flew around Skyrim for a few minutes. No CTDs and the FPS stayed stable, considering. And I kept SFO. It seems stable enough for a gameplay. Now I'm going to install PerMa and all compatibly patches. I made a new profile in case I mess it up. Wish me luck. Thanks, @saurusmaximus for the suggestion. I'm going to post again when I finish with PerMa.
  3. I'm not using ENBoost. I'm going to look it up. I'm already using the Lite version. I'm going to try without SFO, but it really makes a difference, so I'm going to try everything else before that.
  4. So, I just bought used 7870 GHz Edition. The first thing I did is to install some mods for Skyrim. After two day of choosing and tweaking I finally managed to setup the way I liked it. The problem is that while it runs decently most of the time (60-40 fps), when I enter more intense areas, like cities it drop to ~20 which is not good. My specs are: CPU: AMD Phenom X4 9850 RAM: 4GB DDR2 GPU: Radeon HD 7870 2GDDR5 I know that my GPU is bottlenecked by almost all my component, but I want to make as much as possible with what I have. THIS is list of my mods. THESE are Skyrim settings with the CCC setup. I'm currently running it like that. I can post some screenshot of the game if you like. I want to improve a little my fps, but retaining as much from the quality as possible. I don't know which mods are heavy which aren't. I don't know which setting have bigger impact on the performance. I've spend the whole day tweaking it and now I need some help. If you tell me which mod/setting are more demanding and I'm better off without them, I'll be grateful. Also, if there are settings/mods that have little to no impact I would love to know about them, as well.
  5. This... But for many different character builds. Unlockables for quests and skills. Example: Companions have Werewolf Recruits. Lvl 100 Conjurers get Daedra/Undead Recruits. College has a Magicka Radiator (those within a set range have higher magicka regen. Hire assassins and thieves if you see fit. Each guild/ Story-line gives you a few new units, buildings, and defenses. As Dovahkiin, if you side with the blades, you get elite blade recruits. If you dont kill paarthurnax you get a dragon perched on your forts, can teach soldiers simple shouts. Throw in some non-combat resource buildings, gatherers and such. I want this. Yeah, that would be awesome. :woot: Nice idea!
  6. Ahh ok. Thanks. Yes of course. But can I rename the copies? I just tried to run a mod from a renamed copy, and it works, so I guess they can be renamed.
  7. So I need to backup only .esp files? Or also the scripts folder? Did not know I can rename them freely, that is just wonderful. You both guys helped me a lot. Thanks, and kudos for both!
  8. The mod is huge, there are lot of folders, meshes, scripts, sounds and such, also I have tons of other mods which use that folders. It isn't impossible to separate them, but its pain in the a*s. The main thing I'm worried about is that the mod is actually a player house with a lot of mannequins and chests, in which I've stored a tons of items. Thanks though! If that's the only way, I better start removing my items. P.S. e.g. If I have one .esp file which adds a three craftable armors, but I want the three armors to be separated in three files for each armor. Can that be done? Or i need to make everything from scratch again? That would be possible if the CK has Save As option, but it doesn't. How that is possible?
  9. Hi to all, I have couple questions about CK, which I need to answer before I start doing anything. 1. Can I open mod, from another folder rather than from Data folder? I have a mod that I want to upgrade and I don't know if it would work. The mod is loaded in game, and I'm using it in my save, that's why I cant make any permanent modification. I want somehow to load a copy of that mod, and saving any changes to it, without overwriting the original one, and damaging my save. Only after I finished every modifications, and I'm sure that It will going to work, to replace it with the original. And why there isn't Save As function? 2. I want certain item to be crafted/upgraded/melted, but only if i met determined requirements. e.g. I want a sword to be available for crafting only if the player is >= 30 level and/or has OH skill at 100. I know how the procedure is going, but I just can't find these options in requirement field. Thanks in advance! :)
  10. The idea is awesome, actually I though about that couple month ago. When I start watching Game Of Thrones, I was literally shocked, how much this movie looks like Skyrim. There are many things we can get from this movie.
  11. Yea, you are right. I didn't think about the patches at all, but since they change so much, its impossible to make a quest right now. The best we can do now is, waiting and playing. Thanks for the answer.
  12. My dream mod can called, something like Conqueror Mode. 1. Player to be able to buy a castle/fort in Skyrim, wherever you want...At the first, it will be ruined, but later you can repair it. 2. After you buy a castle/fort, you will be able to upgrade it - make new sections, stronger gates, more towers, barricades and such. 3. To be able to hire an army (archers, two-handlers, one-handlers) to protect it. Mercenary soldiers, at first, then you can upgrade them, with steel, dwarven or even ebony armor & weapons. Also, later you will have two types of army - Main army, which is not so strong and well armored, and Elite army which are expensive to build but very strong, and heavy armored. 3.1. Different types of army - archers, two-handlers, one-handlers, but also mounted knight, very expensive to build but enormously strong, mounted archers, heavy knights and such. 4. To be able to buy a workers, who will work at mine to collect ingots, forests to collect wood, and farms for food. You can use these resources for upgrade for the castle. When you enlarge houses, the population eventually will grow. 5. To be able, to make a special building for soldier training, make a soldiers from from farmers and such, which of course cost resources from the castle. 6. To be able, to give orders to any soldiers in your castle, and put them in strategy positions/ 7. To be able to make your own army, not just a few idiotic mans, but a hundreds of heavily armed soldiers. 8. To be able to make a politics with others holds, e.g. to be allies with Whiterun, but enemies with Solitude. 9. To be able to trade resources with allied factions. 10. To have your own steward, court wizard and thanes (in our case they will be called knights), they will be honored to protect you, as your own personal guard, and will be next to you when you lead a battle. e.g. Lydia, Iona, Jordis etc. easily can be honored for a knights, and it will be given special armors and weapons, and they'll following you wherever you go. 11. To be attacked buy random (...and no so random) enemies - dragons, bandits, orcs, forsworns etc. But not a bunch easy killable, bandits, but a massive attacks from hundreds of them, or a huge invasion by hordes of a hundreds orcs, like in TLOTR. :D 12. To be able to make huge champagne from a hundred of your soldiers, which a sworn to carry your burdens or die for you, and attack enemies faction, like Whiterun, Solitude, Riften, and if you won you become Jarl of that faction. How simple is that...
  13. So you want to wear robes, but you want to have more armor? It can be made a mod, which adds a few craftable robes, but with armor rating. e.g. Novice Robes = Iron Cuirаss (25 / 30) Apprentice Robes = Steel Cuirass (31 / 35 ) Adept Robes = Dwarven Cuirass (34 / 45) Expert Robes = Ebony Cuirass (43 / 38) Master Robes = Daedric Cuirass (49 / 50) You'll have a robes with armor ratings, and weight. The armor rating can be taken from the whole set, or only from the cuirass. Also, the weight can be removed, and the robes will still have armor rating, but it won't weight so much. Of course it will be a little OP. At least, this is the easiest way to be done.
  14. Ohh, I didn't know about that one. Thanks man! :)
  15. 1. I mentioned movies just for an example, mostly for the armors that can be created. There's a lot that can be seen from them. Well I've never played previous Elder Scrolls, and I don't know what Knight of the Nine was about. The fact that has been done already in previous part of Elder Scrolls, makes it even easier to be remade in Skyrim. Of course, not entirely identical. 2. In Skyrim there is a few quest that mentioned Daedra Lords and Priests, but nothing more, just random quests. All this Daedra type thing is so original that I wonder how Bethesda didn't make a whole quest line for it. Daedric should be special, not just regular craftable armor like Iron, Steel etc. The only thing that differs from the others is the armor rating, and that is not good at all. What are these books you talk about, where I can find them? 3. The most intense I know about is UFO, but it does not include this functions.
  16. Hello, to all! From about a week or more, I have few ideas that I want to share here. I'm sorry in advance, if there is already mod like this, or there's another topic about it. I wonder why there isn't new quest lines yet? Maybe because, it spends too much time and efforts and no one want to do it for free. But, there is so much mods, for which from far away you can tell, that it has been put a lot of work in them. So why not? Here is my ideas: 1. New quest line, like a Dark Brotherhood quest line, or Thief's Guild quest line, but the story is about Templar Knights. At the end of the quest line, the player gets Templar Armor set. JaySuS has already awesome crusader swords. And its not only Templar Knights, there is a lot more stories from which can be made wonderful quests. Movies like Lord Of The Rings, Harry Potter, Arn, The Mummy etc. can be used as examples. 2. To be able to craft yourself Dragon and Daedric armor is not fun at all. They should be artifacts which are given at the end of long quest lines like Nightingales set. For me Daedric armor is special armor, which no one should have, and which contain enormous power that only the chosen can control. The armor may have fire resistance, magic resistance and such, but to be vulnerable to frost etc. Same thing with the dragon set. For example, the dragon armor can have a resistance to any kind of dragon attack etc. You may be able to craft it, but after completing the quest line. The most important thing is that the armors should be connected with some history. That will be for the people who want to be able to craft it. 3. Definitely, must be made a mod that allows player to control his followers in details. For example to be able to say to Lydia to use sword and shield, axe and shield, two-handed, bow or to dual-wield. Also the option the say to your followers when to attack, and when to stay idle would be very useful. I personally hate when i see a bandit or wolf, my follower to jump right in the moment and kill it, but on other side I play with ACE and ASIS on Expert and most of the time I really need help, so the only decision is to be able to say when to attack and when not. I know that Im giving only the basic idea and not enough details, but there is so much opportunities and you don't know from where to start. Thats why I'll be glad if anyone who read this topic gives his opinion and his idea for quests and such. I'm really sorry about being so troubled and unable to do these things myself. I don't have the time, and the knowledge for the most. Thanks in advance!
  17. This topic is old, but still if people wonders there is a mod that can do these thing, and many more. It's called Community Uncapper by Elys. Read it's description for more information.
