Does it need OBSE?

A counterpart to the Mod Detectives thread would be useful. An entire subforum, not so much. That's already implicit in posting in File Requests/Suggestions.

If it's the bot-spawned comment thread, probably not. -
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_game_controversy#Germany Contra (Probotector) and Half-Life are mentioned. Presumably, there are others, but I don't feel like checking other sources.

Water breathing's pretty much it for alteration, but you do get elemental and physical resisting spells. Morrowind had Element Shields damage attackers, which I first noticed when I failed a quest.

Wait a second. A school that allows you to turn enemies (or townspeople) against their friends, prevent enemies from attacking you or send them fleeing, prevent them from casting spells, order them to fight for you, drop them to the floor while you beat them about the head, or let you stay unseen while this mayhem is going on is useless in combat?

Of course, it could be argued that werewolves would be 'weak' to steaks.

When I get up there and attack someone, a guard just teleports up to arrest me. Granted, I just shove him down again, but still...

Indeed. "of Doom" would be so much...doomier. Still, better than "of Cheezburgers". Seem to remember mentioning to someone (on dial-up) that resumable downloads might be something to ask for. No idea if they did so, but either way now slow-connectioneers will have something worth getting premium for. What would "multi-threading" be, for downloads?

500 things you have learned in Oblivion

603b: There's Apocrypha, although its organization would drive Melvil Dewey insane. And I'm sure that Sanguine's ten times ten thousand realms include at least a few hundred which have booze, and possibly mudcrabs, available. 603c: There is, or was, the Ritual of the Innocent Quarry. Not all involved consider it entertaining, though. 603d: Ask Anhaedra about that one. -
I've said it before, but it bears repeating:

Depends what you mean by debatable. For instance, a debate on evolution might not be against the rules, but the odds are good that some people will start arguing it from a religious standpoint, which is likely to result in a lock.

Reading pinned threads is often a good place to start.
-
Were you thinking of having this as new topics created for the articles page, or topics that have gotten off the ground being featured on the acticles page? I'm inclined to favour an option to allow anyone, or maybe established forumers only, to nominate a thread for Article status. Nominations could then be confirmed, denied, or 'wait-and-see'd by a moderator, or perhaps by a member of a somewhat broader group.

Last time I downloaded something from Fileplanet, it was free. They do seem to have the page set up so the free servers aren't at the top, though.

What I meant by "by NPC or by faction" is that it could be a checkbox, off by default, that can be selected when making a given NPC or faction. If it were faction-based, it would only apply between members of that faction, and only if they weren't already attacking each other. I would see this as something that is only applied to the player for companions and escort-quest NPCs. Having it as sort of a "No betrayal during combat, unless someone hits you with Frenzy" rule might be a good way to go.

May've been mentioned, but these functions would be nice: OnHits --- block condition, runs when the scripted actor hits someone. Another name might be better, as there's an OnHit block already. GetLastActorHit GetLastAttacker --- may be an equivalent function already A "Take no damage from friendly fire" option, by NPC or by faction, would probably be well-received. An option to disable it might be a good idea, though.

That guy is supposed to be in the river south of Gnisis.

(By the way, I've done a bit of math, and my calculations show that Snow Ninja's volume in the form of water ice would be about 6500 solar masses. Congratulations, Snow Ninja is now a black hole! Or the volume was misstated, in which case fusion might have time to begin before complete collapse.)

I've found an Ash Slave walking around the sea bottom near the mouth of the Odai River.

Not exactly powerful, but certainly odd...the Spear of Falling Feathers. A Daedric spear with a CE Slowfall enchantment, rendering one who wields it immune to falling damage. There's always Almalexia's Hammer, a Daedic Warhammer with as powerful a Shock enchantment as it can take, powered by the soul of a god. And the Ward of Abernanit. Not a weapon, but a Daedric Tower Shield with a CE 45-point Fortify Block enchantment. Given that successfully blocking prevents a melee attack from doing any damage, this should significantly increase combat effectiveness. Although I've always though that Death Blow of Abernanit is mistitled, as Abernanit is a Bitter Coast smuggler hole, while Ebernanit is a Dagon shrine, which better fits the book.

Mudcrabs are pretty good at looking like a rock until you're close, though. I'd say they're a little bit more potentially frightening than, say, Nix-hounds.

Daedric Battle Axe, which I think I enchanted with Drain Health enchantment. The key was all the Fortify Strength potions I used, and the Fortify Intelligence potions I used to make them. It appears that Dagoth Ur's script resets his health to 1000 if he's damaged, so you need to do 1000 damage in one hit.

Amazing battles? Well, I killed Dagoth Ur. By hitting him.
