  1. The Under Ground Hideout from F3 doesn't work (for me anyway) modding into a RFCW game. I wanted to get some sort of "nice" place for the F3 version of RFCW so I don't have to go back and forth all the time. I thought maybe a mod adjusting an already existing structure would work, like the Megaton house, but it caused a crash on load too. So, is it possible to mod the Megaton house from a RFCW mod instead of the actual F3 files? Or is there a fix for the underground hideout to get it to work? I am putting this here, because it seems to me that the most likely cure will be a new mod that would work with RFCW instead of a straight F3 or NV mod.
  2. A1 was .45 also. The Star was a 1911 style pistol made in Spain and this one is chambered in 9mm, since much of the world outside the USA preferred a 9mm in military chamberings. The one displayed looks like a Star A series, but it is hard to tell for sure what kind of Star it is exactly. Would be most likely 9mm Luger/Parabellum or maybe 9mm Largo. Anyway, what would you call it? "Bad M0ther F*#$^%" would be the obvious choice......
  3. To me, Yes Man is the only option. Leaves Vegas free to develop without constraints. Or better yet, under "my" benevolence. After the dam, 1st order of business is to establish again diplomatic ties with NCR through Crocker and work on a relationship with definite lines and constraints. To the ends of an alliance against the obvious evils of the Legion. Lease NCR Camp McCaran back, send them power from the damn and Helios one. Send them fresh water and assist them with agricultural supplies/food. 2nd order of business is to clean up the areas outside of the strip with help from the Kings, free up and clean up the mess in West Side to improve security while helping the honest(er) residents retain autonomy. Enhance protection from Vipers/other gangs by cleaning out vault 3 and restoring it as a home and base of anti gang operations for NW NV. 3rd order would be to either encourage the Kahns to continue to move east, or to stay but reduce their dependency on the drug trade, or better yet, to work with the Followers to turn their "cooking skills" to better use. Encourage and support the Followers in their quest to bring a better life to the Mohave. 4th order would be to establish ties with the BOS. (I, through my game play) are a "Brother", so this should be easier then it looks at first glance. Ensure lack fo prosecution from my new New Vegas faction. Open trade and ties with Jacobstown, Novac, Primm and Nipton (if it come back). Allow NCR to maintian outpost at Mohave Outpost. The list of works to be done would be long, and would take years. However, to me it has always seemed that the best choice was Yes Man. NCR was always second to me. House third, because he is/was too callous towards humanity to believe that anything beyond the Strip would ever flourish under his control. He had YEARS to make a difference, nothing happened. the argument could be made for House by saying he offers freedom too, but I disregard that in with the simple proof of the Strip and its elitist ways. The Legion, as always, is dead last, simply because they are by far evil, and I value freedom too much. Any faction that crucifies people and burns towns and makes a game of it is not ever a faction I would support, even at the barrel of a gun.
  4. My first Steam experience was this: Buy a game that requires "internet 'activation'". Figures, "Has DvD, must be a code". Installs on computer, jumps through hoops. Make Steam account. "Seems odd for an 'activation', but meh". Steam begins 10 hour download because lives in the country and only has DSL. "10 hour download?!?!?! WTF 'activation' takes 10 hours?!?!?!" Steam troll like a pro! This is why Steam makes folks mad. Then, the famous "waiting for Steam to update" when I want to play a game, for up to an hour. Or maybe having to enter my $#%#!$51 age every 43!$~%!$%%Y@! time I go and look at a game, while signed in to my 37 year old account. Oh, maybe it is the constant running in my back ground eating my precious RAM. There are many pros to Steam, but I hate the cons much. Maybe not as much as I like the pros, but damn close. Oh yeah, right now, I am re-installing NV after screwing it up with a massive mod. 10 hours of nothing to do. Be nice if I could just pop in my disk.....
  5. Of course, then it would still show as "holstered" while equipped, but that would be a poor man's way of doing it, yes.
  6. I am having these issues as well, and I am sorry to bother, but were are these files at? I found CASM, but not the anti-stutter or the 4 gig mods. Where would they be?
  7. First post. I will try to keep it from being too n00b. First, I have played Fallout since "Wasteland" (on the IIGS), being 37 years old. Fallout is about the only game I keep coming back to time after time. One thing that annoyed me since the beginning of Fallout 3 was the whole lack of holsters thing. However, I found a mod that added them, so the look is much improved (http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=41410) (love this mod!). However, when the pistol isn't equipped, the holster is empty. Ugh. Other things that have bothered me have been where exactly do my non-equipped weapons really go? I have a Katana, say, and it just disappears when I switch to a shotgun or pistol? Or anything else for that matter? WTF? My thought was if someone could add a mod that would show several different weapons at once. It would work like this, (in theory). You could have one melee, one large and one small weapon showing at once, for your three most likely hot weapon locations, being 4-2-6 or left-right-down. Pistols would be on the hip, in a holster if a holster mod is present. No sense in adding another holster, or make it addable content. Rifles/Shotguns (full length) would be on the back as they are. Knives, Katana and the like (grenades? Ripper?) on the left hip. So the mod would have to recognize the type of weapon in the 4-2-6 slots and then display them in the proper locations. Or each slot (4-2-6, or even more) would assign a weapon to a specific location (2=on the back, 4=left hip, 6=right leg, 3=high right side -isn't that where grenades display? I don't remember?- and etc.) for display and use purposes. Just think, your character could really look like this-- http://images.wikia.com/fallout/images/8/89/Cowboy.png ---and display several weapons at one. True that it would be less useful if you had a three rifle character, but hey, nothing is perfect, but maybe there would be a way to keep from displaying three rifles at once in the assigned locations? Or maybe this has already been done, if so, just point me into the right direction. Thank you. Guy
