Pretty much this... unless you post the specs of your character, it'd be hard to come to a conclusion as to why you are getting 1hit. Even with 300+ HP, it seems a bit strange... unless you have severely unbalanced your character with non-combat related skills (and I mean SEVERELY, as 300+ dmg per hit for a guard seems unrealistic for any character) mind posting your skills and be sure to include your modified armor rating too. Sure, 1 handed skill is 42 Archery is 58 Light armour is 43 Sneak is 100 Smith is 100 Enchanting is 55 Lockpick is 56 I use Ancient Shrouded armour, upgraded. My armor rating is 312.
