  1. I dont know how or where i got them but ive ended up with some pretty cool spell effects

1: when i cast a freeze spell on someone it actualy freezes them in ice

    http://www.tesnexus.com/imageshare/images/1528346-1276305036.jpg

2: when i use a fire spell it turns the person into a flaming corpse

    http://www.tesnexus.com/imageshare/images/1528346-1276305064.jpg

    all the spell is is:

    Damage Health 100pts

    Frost Damage 100pts

    Fire Damage 100pts

    Shock Damage 100pts

    Absorb Health 100pts

    and it does those effects

I think it might be from the magic mod LAME which i vaguely remember when i used a while back having those fantastic cool effects. It might also be DEADLY REFLEX but am not sure since i think that one dealt more with decapitation and bodily dismemberment. Gonna have to check these out and see how the latest versions play :)

  2. I've been waiting for this since the day they announced the project - but I guess I'll have to wait a little longer since my German's a bit rusty.

A dreamlike surreal virtual world breathtaking in its essence of art and beauty united to bring forth the child of joy..the peace of spirit which comes of something that takes us to another world another time. Thank you for this gift.

Hail with great respect the Masters SureAI!

  3. not entirely right, youre missing one thing..

You have to rename the MP3 to:

    FOR OPEN WORLD MUSIC "Explore"

name the soundtrack atmosphere_[a Number] - could be atmosphere_10, then the custom track would play after the 9 vanilla ones, or you could put it in front, by naming it atmosphere_01, then renaming the others, to having a higher number (vanilla 01->02, vanilla 02->03 and so on)

    FOR DUNGEON MUSIC "Dungeon"

name the soundtrack dungeon_[a Number] Do the same as above if you want it to be played before, or after the vanilla ones

    FOR BATTLE MUSIC "Battle"

name the soundtrack battle_[a Number] Do the same as above if you want it to be played before, or after the vanilla ones

FOR CITY / HOUSE MUSIC "Public"

name the soundtrack town_[a Number] Do the same as above if you want it to be played before, or after the vanilla ones

Note that if you dont do the renaming, the soundtrack will not be played.

and for the Imperial City question - No, not unless if you use a mod.

( I havnt heard of any - maybe because I havnt searched for any..)

Thanks tpower for the very interesting info on the naming convention to get the music playing in some order instead of randomly. I never knew this and i've been adding music in my games since MORROWIND.

  4. Just say about your character and what makes him/her bad@$$ I'll go first:

My character's name is Seras and she is a vampire/diclonius/ninja/pirate/wizard/necromancer who is also a billonair and owns a flying castle!

    Race: Diclonius

    Class: Custom

    Weapon: Flame Sword

Armour: Ninja Armour + Ninja Mask

    Gender: Female

    Specialty: Necromatic Magic

My character's name is Arturo he is a male Knight Of Dibella or since i cant fit all that in the class name i just call the class Dibellian. He travels the lands exploring the world discovering its beauty in all its many form aswell as protecting it from the forces of evil. He opposes any entity or behaviour which brings misery and stagnation of life. He is a practioner of restoration and destruction magic and highly skilled in blade and blunt weapons especially them spikey maces  He wears heavy armor for the discipline of character it brings carrying armor which weighs so much around and the discipline it brings to his body as it sculpts his flesh into a musculature frame of strength to live a long and healthy life. His favorite weapons are the magical ones which flow with the essence of life.

  5. I voted for High Chancellor Ocato. He seems like a good guy, been there for ages, loyal to the empire, and any emperor he served under. He is educated and a skilled battlemage, does his job as best as possible at the crisis which caught the land, not to mention that there is no emperor, ass the last heir died.Of course,it is a hard thing for him as well,to hold the empire together while being targeted as a 'power-hungry' by the counts and nobility,so one more thing for admiring him. Also,he showed great respect and was on the top level of his duty when Martin came to the palace and Mr.Dagon came to play baseball with Imperial Watch.Deffo deserves a throne seat.

Oh,and, there are rumors and speculations that High Chancellor isn't an Altmer. One more + ! ;)

Perhaps he is the great manipulator The King Of Worms in disguise. Just look at those sunken skeletal like features of his face-

  6. High Chanchellor Ocato. Who better then his right hand man whose been with him since the days of TES 2 DAGGERFALL and whose probably known every character the player has portrayed in some way who has saved the empire in previous games. He could be a very powerful ally or highly knowledgeable dangerous foe. He also has that quality which like the emperor could be very stern when times call for being so.
  7. Variaties Of Daedra

    The Argonian Account

    Witchcraft On Trail

    Darkest Darkness

    On Oblivion

    The Wolf Queen

Forgot the title but the book explains how Sithis came to be and in what form he exists now.

Forgot the title but it talks about nirn plants. Not sure if its given to me at a certain point in a quest.

The book talking about Tiber Septim and his wife especially how they didnt like each other.

And many more books i cant recall at the moment since am tired.

  8. Im not actually sure if they walk there or not, I fast travelled to Azuras shrine, walked down the hill, and they were there, waiting outside...

Yeah, the markers are definately correct.

I'll check the AI later, im going off now.

Maybe you accidently pressed a button or did something in haste or looking away from the monitor for a brief second without realising it when creating that cabin in the Editor which made it a travel point for SI npcs. It could also be another mod interfering with the npcs path grid or whatever its called. I had to remove Bomrets Normal Textures because it was making OOO npcs go off in strange directions or gather all in one spot.

It could be a trigger like weather from another mod causing the npcs to think thats a destination to head for.

  9. Hi there.

It has been about ~2 years since I've played oblivion and I would like to start playing religiously again (the only expansion i own is Shivering Isles)

I'm still fairly new to mods (I have used some before but have never gotten big ones like OOO working)

I'm looking for some mods that do some pretty specific things and suck me back into this wonderful game, I hope someone can help me out :D

    list of demands!

    Gameplay:

-a leveling system that makes me not want to sneak in a corner for hours

-better animations (id like to be able to play in 3rd person mode and enjoy it as much or more than 1st)

    -better combat

    Character:

-affected greatly by choices made in character creation

-a more defined risk:reward ratio for things such as armor type, weapon type, which skills you can max based on stats (or something similar), etc

-is able to dual wield daggers (w/ risk:reward)

-can't be good at everything (melee character can't cast the best spells, etc)

    -can't max out every skill/stats

-more balance in the benefits of race (like choosing Wood Elf over Breton for the imbalanced 50% magic resist)

    Miscellaneous:

-I would like to play on "max difficulty" but scaled properly so the PC doesn't die in 2 hits

-should I get OOO? (I'm not completely sure of everything this mod entails)

-? what else might I want?

thank you for your time

Since you've already played the original unmodded version of OBLIVION yes i would definitely check out OOO since it does most of what you mentioned your looking for. Try not to use too many mods with OOO. Its very compatible with other mods but it does so much great stuff you might miss out on something if another mod is doing the same thing. I mainly use visual enhancement mods which usually keep me out of trouble with conflicts. As for animation mods they're out there just do a search on Tesnexus and you will find plenty that make things like combat moves more flashy and stylish. I havent had any trouble running most of them alongside OOO at least not any that dont use OBSE (Oblivion Script Extender).

On getting killed in one or two hits with OOO all i can say is learn to time and dodge or run away  because thats part of the immersive realism of OOO where you cant take on the whole world as a lowly newbie. You will have to earn your victories by improving your skills and using commonsense in battles mixed in with a bit of luck.

Yesterday i had a blast taking on some bandits in which a few times if i had not backed up from an incoming sword acttack with split second timing then temporarily retreat to heal up i would have died right away. In regular OBLIVION i never felt as if my battle prowess is being honed to a higher level beyond just the stat improvements. With OOO it actually made me the player fight on the edge of my toes making it feel as if victory was half game stats and the other half my real life reflexes in playing the game and thinking quickly..reflexivly.

  10. Hi guys! I have the 360 version of oblivion, and decided to pick up the PC version due to the amount of mods it has.

I am wondering what mods do you cats recommend for me to pick up?

I already downloaded darnifiedUI, English ESP/MAP, scarlet monastery and shadowfang keep.

One of my favorites is OSCURO'S OBLIVION OVERHAUL which balances out the game world making it a more immersive believable experiance. It really gives a satisfying sense of accomplishment and reward when taking on what is now a much more tougher world to survive in. The latest version is very stable and as long as you make sure to read the readme you should have no problems.

Here is a link to the OOO trailer on Youtube-

Here is vid showing one of the results of respecting mother nature in OOO-

Vid showing the Light of Dawn sword in OOO aswell some of the cool new visual effects from OOO such as caskets which open just like something out of a horror movie-

    Lock Bashing with OOO-

  11. Waalx's WAC, it's incompatible with most overhauls I believe. It adds armor, weapons and new creatures.

Waalx also has the weapons available as separate modules including ones for individual npc races and enemies. Its available along wth WAC at:

    http://waalx.com/RealSwordsForum/index.php

My other favorite is THE HELLISH ARMORY by Pepsi. Lots of bizzare spooky weapons and armor scattered around the world of Cyrodiil in treasure hunt fashion for the player to find while exploring the world. This one is only available on Filefront.com as far as i know.

  12. Those look fantastic but am pretty sure whatever look Bethesda goes with for TES V it will be gorgeous and fps friendly. Am still amazed i can run FALLOUT 3 with no frame loss while having Anistropic Filtering maxed out at a high resolution with widescreen active.

There was a Crysis version of OBLIVION a few years ago but it was never released due to legal issues.

  13. I believe there was a mod that was released around the time OBLIVION came out which let time pass in certain situations. It was created by the very talented and helpful Modder named brash. So a search using her name on this website or www.PlanetElderscrolls.com should turn up something. Good luck.
  14. I agree using OSCURO'S OBLIVION OVERHAUL Is the way to go. It makes the game world very realistic and more believable immersing the player in a setting that is not focused on them. You will find yourself running from many opponents at first who are just too tough for a unexperianced low skilled character to take on. As you improve your sense of reward will be great as you meet these same foes again and are able to defeat them. Then again you might be the type who wont give up no matter what and defeat some pretty tough characters even at a low level. Either way you will have your hands full.

Theres also alot of cool visual realism in OSCURO'S OBLIVION OVERHAUL like torches that get dropped to the ground during combat when switching to a two handed weapon but stay lit and can be picked up again afterwards. Chests that actually open before your eyes so you can always tell if you look in them when you come across them again. Posters and signs on city walls telling the city folk of the going ons in and out of the city along with the different dangers in the wilderness and how to best avoid them.

I would pretty much just use this incredible mod first then add in other once your confident enough to experiment with mods you may feel will enrich further what you are looking for in gameplay.

  15. AlienSlof did a conversion i believe a while back of a gorgeous vampire suit that looks alot like the Playzine picture you posted but in different colors. I think the original was created by another Modder but am not sure. Just do a search for AlienSlof and check her available work.
  16. I voted OSCURO'S OBLIVION OVERHAUL. It makes the world of OBLIVION very believable on many levels from seeing chests actually open to facing enemies and creatures i found myself running away from til i grew strong enough to have a chance to take on a raging bear or some supernatural spectre among many other dangers.

I have tried and loved many of the other mentioned mods like T.I.E., Frans, MMM etc but OOO had that full package covering all the bases and fleshing out the game world to a realistic commonsense level. The minute i saw posters warning of the dangers of the wilderness on the city walls it was like being there.

FCOM is too scary to even think about installing. Maybe one day..

  17. I've just reinstalled Oblivion and have seen all the great mods, I'm looking to to improve the experience of the armors and weapons etc.

I've done a search but with around 3000 files on both Armor and weapons it will take me ages to go through them all.

Is there an all in one which improves the overall look and feel without having to download them all one by one?

    Thanks

I cant really think of any all in one packages except for Overhauls which add alot of changes to the game you may or may not like. You might want to check this amazing list with links which should make the process a bit easier:

    http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=164060

Also if your looking for new clothes that fit the personality of the npcs you meet then you might want to give NPC NEW CLOTHES 2.6 Complete a try-http://www.filefront.com/8667087/NPC_New_Clothes_v2.6_COMPTE.7z

Gives OBLIVION a more sexy adult TES 2 DAGGERFALL mood.

  18. I saw a similar situation in an article at GAMESPOT about a week or two ago where they mentioned companies were starting to clamp down on their game properties when it comes to being used in other games for modding purposes due to the economy being so bad.

Not exactly great on a creative expressive level but then again that just means modders have to create their own things instead of putting DUKE NUKEM in FALLOUT 3 etc.

Just be thankful we can still mod these amazing games. Whose to say if Bethesda goes the old DAGGERFALL route and makes a rpg so complete and humongous in graphical detail and storyline they decided to make it unmoddable since the game allows for immense ingame artistic expression without the modding aspect.

  19. It seems like Bethesda is becoming more of a "rush everything out the door, make a quick buck, and move on!" company. Oblivion received a few patches, some terrible DLC, one expansion, and a broken CS update, and was then abandoned for Fallout 3. There are still hundreds of issues, some very major (abomb). Of course, the modding community fixes as many of these issues as they can, but the poor console users are out of luck.

What will we see with FO3? One patch, one expansion, and then off to TESV? Although, maybe that would be a good thing...

Of course, perhaps without a Construction Set, Bethesda will actually fix their problems themselves this time?

    Hah, yeah right.

I agree totally. It didnt really hit me what Bethesda had done til the release of FALLOUT 3 got closer and closer. Its kind of annoying to think just finding the pc version of OBLIVION on release was just about impossible with every store in the New York City area only carrying the X-Box version (cough cough) then to finally get a hold of a copy only to see it riddled with bugs. Now here it is years later and the game still needs alot of fixes but Bethesda only bothers when its an extreme emergency. It seems the days of intense patching from the old days of TES 2 DAGGERFALL to make the game the best it can be are gone.

Embarrassing to have to use a homemade texture mod to improve fps rates when companies like BIOWARE do this kind of stuff for their customers for free with NEVERWINTER NIGHTS releasing heavy duty patches years after the games release aswell as huge mods that are worth paying for. Bioware still has time to both create epic games even while supporting their customer base with game fixes and enhancements for their already released products.

I've already decided to hold off purchasing FALLOUT 3 til later instead of right on release day like i used to in the past. Since Bethesda likes to reward those who purchase later with a fixed product theres no point in buying it right away especially if i have to look all over the city on release day to only find the X-Box version instead of pc version aswell.

After playing The WITCHER ENHANCED EDITION and NEVERWINTER NIGHTS 2 i have seen what are real fleshed out games which dont feel rushed out the door and where the companies involved really care about leaving behind a good taste in players mouth instead of apple pie without the filling.

Playing DEAD SPACE at the moment and its just one more reminder of what OBLIVION could have been but wasnt.

Thank goodness for mod tools eventhough i dont feel they are the real answer since no one can fix the problem the way the people who actually worked on the code can.

Thanks for reading and congratulations Dark0ne on the FALLOUT 3 Forums birth :)

  20. Daerk excellent work! I just found about your stunning work at the official Forums thanks to Pseron Wyrd.I love the crispness in the views now and how things appear. My framerates have also improved quite a bit.The water is really gorgeous! Am using PumaMan's Wilderness Mod that adds fishes to the oceans and it is really a visual feast of beauty! The fish also blend in much more better then before. Now they look like they are in the water instead of plastered over it because of the original coloring.Night time is gorgeous even more so with ModMan's Window Lights Mod and your amazing Mod work. Also dungeons are much more spookier which i have not seen since using CoolDemons excellent True Light And Darkness Mod.Good to see torches and lanterns are of use once more.Thank you!
