  1. It's my 1st mod upload to the nexus called The Orthonian Race. It's a custom race mod. I still think it is an isp problem. We had some tropical weather 5 days ago and I think it screwed up the signal out here. I will keep trying.
  2. Update: The file is about 25MB and it uploaded to my google drive no problem but will not upload to my Mod page using the nexusmod upload page still gets stuck at 4% then it shows a web not available page that says my connection was interrupted. It worked when I uploaded a 2MB misc file to the same Mod though. I dont get it. I tried it with chrome, IE, and chrome on my cell phone none would finish the upload.
  3. yeah I tried with IE also but still no go. I think it may be my ISP messing around with something ATM it's a 3g signal and it's still new out here in the boonies of Thailand. Will have to try again in a few days. Thanks, Bob
  4. I don't know why? It only gets to 4% sits there for awhile and then I lose the website all together. Any suggestions?
  5. Well if all your texture mods are using 3.1 to 4 GB or VRAM and your 7800 series AMD card has 2 GB of VRAM then that is prolly the start of your problem. Textures use video ram (VRAM) and not system RAM so as far as texture packs go it doen not matter how much system RAM you have. Skyrim is a 32 bit application that will only recognize a small part of your system RAM so again having 16 GB of system RAM is not helping Skyrim one bit 4 GB is plenty. You should look into the newest ENB series as it has memory management built into it letting Skyrim actually use more of your system ram so help with stability. You should use BOSS to sort your mod load order and tell you if any of your mods have dirty edits in them which you can clean with TES5EDIT. Search Google for a tutorial. You should also look into a mod management program like Mod Organizer or Wyre Bash (which is what I personally use) that way you can install and uninstall mods quickly and easily. Also if you have a save that was saved with dirty or troublesome mods and you try to use it on a fresh install it will still have leftover stuff from those mods even if you don't reload those mods again, so you start a new game as well if your previous save game came from an install that crashed a lot. I am also using a 7800 series AMD card (7870) with 2 GB VRAM and I use almost all of it with the texture mods I have installed plus I have ugrids to load at 7. As long as you don't go over the limit of your VRAM you should be OK. I don't get too many CTD's and when I do it is usually something I have messed with to cause it. I hope I have given you some info you can use!
  6. mabey thats where beth got the line from?
  7. So what your saying is that your 7 year old Alienware comp is better that what you could buy today..........um OK. At least you got me to laugh thanks for that. I have it running on a Gateway from 1994. 16 megs of ram ROCKS! 2 fps smooth as silk. They made computers better back then the silicon was purer lol! Seriously just keep you drivers up to date will get rid of most problems but not all Skyrim is buggy.
  8. One thing you can check is if your video card GPU clocks are switching to max after starting up Skyrim. I had horrible load times and really bad stuttering at times and I checked Nvidia inspector and found out that my GTX 460 was trying to load and run the game at 50mhz GPU and a memory clock of 135mhz and something like 50MB's of video ram! Turned out the power states for the video card were not switching correctly. Was like trying to run Skyrim on a video card from 1994 lol.
  9. I figured it was already unrealistic so I just said screw it and upped my carry weight to 3000 and never looked back. Hoard everything else back at breezehome. Let's see I need to clear those Draugr out of that tomb. 8 swords....check, 3 shields....check, 3 or 4 sets of armor....check, 1000 lbs of potions....check, etc. Can never be too prepared.
  10. Skeevers and wolves have pockets to carry gold and fingers to wear rings on or sometimes if u r very lucky a jewel up their butt!
  11. I was running around somewhere and I noticed 3 wolves running away from me. Took me awile to catch up with them so I could kill them. I killed them and was looting the corpses when I turn around and come face to face with a large Male Elk. Thing was staring right at me! Then it started screaming, whistling, yelling, whatever right at me. I didnt know if it was going to attack me or what. After a few seconds it stops turns around and runs away. I guess it was thanking me for killing the wolves that were chasing it? Great WTF moment.
  12. I used to have a big ego too on such matters; once even wrote a little self published book on the matter, specifically to help explain away paradox in modern quantum theory. I thought I had consciousness pretty well explained enough for me, as well. Perennial problems in philosophy didn't seem too mysterious either. Feels so long ago, now. Today, I'm less certain of everything, so uncertain that I doubt my doubts and would never claim to know for sure that you are wrong as I was/am. Funny how getting older will do that for you. I bet that little ant in the backyard thinks it has it's universe all pretty much figured out also. Humans must be the most arrogant species on the planet or off. Science is founded on THEORIES that arrogant people use as FACTS. Nothing more than another form of Religion IMO or should I say IN MY THEORY if that makes it sound more science like.
  13. Funny I agree with everything the OP said but strangely I still love this game and possibly I am even addicted to it. I must be more stupider then I thought lol!
  14. Funny you mention the RARE muffle enchant. I got a pair of muffled Ebony Boots from a chest somewhere cant remember where now. Silent heavy boots lol!
