  1. The Shi are really their own faction and are not a part of the NCR. Whether or not they help the NCR is up to them and is not guaranteed. In New Vegas it's mentioned that they do want to route power from the Mojave to not only New Vegas and other areas but to Shady Sands as well. Not only that but they wish to optimize the power flow as well and it's mentioned that Helios One is only outputting at 1% of its potential. Here's some excerpts from the NPC Thomas Hildern that kind of paint the need for power and also hint that NCR's food production and consumption are not balanced. [Do you control the Dam from here?] >Directly? No. But we attempt to maximize its output. You have no idea how difficult it is to provide power to an entire nation. >So far, they've only managed to achieve one percent power output. I'd send help, if I could spare the personnel. [NCR has a food shortage?] >Not yet. But our government understands the value of proactive thought. Our studies project an imbalance between production and consumption. And here's an excerpt from Angela Williams that shows they send power back to Shady Sands [Are you a scientist?] >But I know every inch of the power grid from Hoover Dam to Shady Sands. That's what we do here - try to optimize the power output from the Dam. >Some of the others are working on an agricultural project, but... truth be told, they aren't making much progress. Not yet, anyway. Short of it is NCR has BIG problems during the events of New Vegas and the first battle of the Hoover Dam and New Vegas wasn't really written with Shady Sands being nuked in mind. With it being nuked, it really both changes some story elements and also enhances others. In particular, NCR's food problems and potential power problems.
  2. Fallout TV's out and it's really not half bad at all. The show does do some write-in lore though that actually enhances the story some. In particular, in the New Vegas story the NCR actively seek two sources of power in the Mojave - Helios One and the Hoover Dam. But the way the story conveys it all kind of paints NCR as being heavily expansionist and needing them only to secure or deny a new region from an opposing faction. Perhaps they are expansionist, however in the Fallout TV series: With the above spoiler in mind the NCR is painted as being more dire for their own survival and subsequently more understandable for how they conduct themselves in the Mojave. They're not just wasteland taxmen looking to expand anymore. As it is in vanilla New Vegas, NCR is one of the more un-likable factions in the game.
  3. Just had this idea for a mini-quest when watching A Christmas Story on TV.. A family of four Settlers could be found on the world map. The family consists of: Adult male - the Father named Mr. ParkerAdult female - the mother, named Mrs. ParkerChild male - RandyChild male - Ralphie The family are all sitting around a table getting ready to eat dinner then all of a sudden a small pack of wild dogs rush in, take their dinner and knock Mr. Parker down and run away. The son, Ralphie pulls out his Red Ryder BB gun and takes aim at the dogs, fires, and..... Critical Miss! The kid damn near shoots his eye out and is knocked to the ground too. Mr. Parker at this time gets up off the ground and yells "Sons of bitches! Bumpeses!" while Ralphies mother is there tending to him. (The scene this references here: ) After this scene it would be possible for the player to speak with Mr. Parker and receive a quest from him to find and kill the Bumpus hounds. Upon finding the Bumpus hounds the player will notice their owner is there with them - Old Man Bumpus himself whom is a Ghoul. Old Man Bumpus won't let the player harm his dogs without a fight so your choices from this point are: Reach no compromise and kill Old Man Bumpus and his dogs to complete the quest.[strength>7] Intimidate him so he puts a leash on his mutts so they're not a problem for others. (This gives +50 experience upon success)[Charisma>7] Convince him that his dogs are a problem so he puts them on a leash. (This gives +50 experience upon success)LeaveAfter dealing with the dogs the player treks back to Mr. Parker. He'll thank the player for dealing with the dogs and mention that while you were gone that he talked it over with his son and decided that it is better for you to have his gun than him. You are given the Red Ryder LE BB Gun along with 200 BB's.
  4. I've a suggestions to fix that. Re-texture the Prydwen to resemble Randy Savage. When the Prydwen flies by after defeating Kellogg (THIS SCENE) change all of the dialog spoken by the Brotherhood guy to Randy Savage saying "Oooh yeah!". Maybe for added coolness have Randy dive off the Prydwen during the flyby and elbow drop the Sole Survivor.I haven't done any drugs today I promise.
  5. Today after browsing the Fallout wiki I was reminded of something from older Fallout games that has yet to make it in to the newer ones; Dwarves. http://i.imgur.com/n5NaOga.jpg These were present in Fallout 1 & 2. They were never major characters or anything but they did provide extra "flavor" to the wasteland. If someone bothered making the model I at least would be interested in using it for future mods down the line. I believe there's lots of interesting/humorous possibilities for dwarves in Fallout 4 and would like to see them back.
  6. Currently each Settlement has its own inventory for materials to be used for crafting. This is a real nuisance when I have to craft something and my materials are on the other side of the map. So I suggest a mod that unifies all crafting inventories in to one. This would be bad for realism yes, but would be a huge QoL change for those of us that enjoy playing with the settlements/crafting features of the game.
