im experiencing the same issue. i decided to start a new game recently, using the mods i have had for some time (no issues before). therefore i dont think mods are an issue. it may be a bug with the main quest line - in particular "alduins wall", because i have visited this place before in my current playthrough (ive spent most of my time doing side/guild quests etc). im able to fast travel to surrounding landmarks but not karthspire. even if i walk to karthspire, and set foot in the camp from any direction it just CTDs. i know this hasnt been of any help to you whatsoever, but it seems like there are a few of us in this pickle. lets hope we get some answers, because i know i dont want to start my game AGAIN.....

so as you can probably tell, im crashing to desktop whenever i get remotely close to karthspire. im not sure whats happening, because ive been there before. (able to select fast travel etc) but when ever i choose to FT or even walk to it, the game just dies. it wouldnt bother me so much if i didnt need to go there. but i do, as part of the "alduins wall" main quest line. i havent installed/ uninstalled any mods since starting the game again so i cant see what the issue is. i hope someone can shed some light on this, as i dont particularly want to start my game again (which will be the 3rd time this year!!) after putting 40+ hours into this run through so far.....

ive attempted to sort this myself but still cant work out what the hell is going on. i have uninstalled the game, uninstalled ALL mods and deleted the skyrim folder in steam (to get rid of any potential files that were still hanging around and possibly causing issues). i have reinstalled the game alone (no mods) loaded a save to look at the textures and see how they look unenhanced . i quit the game and activated the skyrim HD 2K texture pack v1.5 only to make sure there was no conflict with any other mod and reloaded my game. ive checked the textures, but they dont seem to have changed in the slightest. i dont know wether its because the mods arent loading properly or not reading the texture files, because im still able use new armours and weapons etc (when the mods are active) but the textures just look s***!! heres a list of the texture mods im using if this helps in anyway???? better males better females CBBE skin texture covereyes detailed faces enhanced blood textures enhanced night colour galaxy - - - not sure if this is texture mod or not, i just put in the list in case envision face large lips for cbbe HD resolution armours parts 1 and 2 improved npc clothing high res plus expansion pack lush trees lush grass lush trees (skyrim flora overhaul compatibility patch) skyrim flora overhaul hi res v15a skyrim HD - 2K texture pack static mesh improvement mod all installed using NMM i have tested them all individually and together but nothing seems to work (no obvious visual change at all) this whole problem seems to have started since i moved steam (and all games) onto a much larger harddrive. all the relevant directories are aimed at where they should be. the mods were working fine before i did this so i dont know what the hell is happening. so to recap - ALL other mods are working fine except for any texture mods. they just appear incredibly flat, dull, and blurry (standard game graphics) with no obvious visual change at all. i apologise for repeating myself, but id like to make it as clear as i can and hopefully get some help, because im at a deadend with this now. it doesnt stop me playing the game but it annoys me that i know i can play a much better looking game..... any help will be appreciated thanks

i wonder if anyone can help me. i am experiencing some frustrating issues with my textures. especially trees and clothing. they just seem to appear very bland with no detail whatsoever, they almost look blurry. i am using some hd texture mods such as skrim HD full v1.5 (landscape, town, dungeons and misc mods), improved NPC clothing, HD high res armours and skyrim flora overhaul, yet they dont seem to be making any difference whatsover. i have uninstalled the mods, loaded my game, reinstalled the mods, loaded the game but there is no visual difference between having them active or not. i dont think there are any confliction issues as i have had these installed before and working perfectly. (i have just recently done a clean reinstallation of all mods and skyrim). if anyone can help sort this it would be great

FIXED!! i still have no idea what the problem was, but installing the 1.6 beta seemed to cure it:D

well , im at a dead end. i decided to uninstall ALL my mods, re-install the game and try again without any mods, but i still gett the same issue. if anyone could shed some more light on this situation, it'd be great. cheers

im pretty sure it has nothing to do with the 360 controller. ive been using it ever since i bought the game way back in november with no problems at all. the characters point of view (1st and 3rd person) are exactly as youve described. i just seem to have problems when mounting horses. i remember being able to ride horses without an issue, not so long back, when i first installed the UFO mod with all 5 followers mounted too. so i really do think i have problem with mods. ill sort through them at some point. at least its not a major issue and i can still play the game:) cheers for the help guys, if you can think of anything else, id appreciate it

first of all, cheers for the replies :) but, excuse what might be a stupid question (im new to this) what do you mean by FOV? i dont use keyborad and mouse controls. im a lazy gamer i prefer to be lounged in a comfy chair using my tv as a monitor alongside a 360 gaming pad :) (apologies to all you hardcore PC gamers lol) the camera seems to want use my characters mid-region as a center point and any camera controls seem to rotate about this area! :S As to the animation mods idea, the only ones i have installed are directed towards female characters, such as female idle, female sprint and catwalk. my character is male, so i cant see this being a problem :S. the only other mod with animations, that i use, is AP. but ive tried uninstalling this (along with josh's patcher etc) but i still get the same problem. maybe i should try uninstalling all my mods, run the game (see if problem persists etc) and reinstall mods. i know this is a pain in the backside and want to avoid it, but if there is another way around it, i'd gladly appreciate it :D thanks guys

hi there, im having some trouble when wanting to ride any horse in the game. - im able to mount them but when i do, the camera swings round to the horses butt, and the horse disappears. my character is still "riding it" - sat in riding position, horse sounds and footsteps can still be heard. - my camera movement is limited, it just seems to focus around the character, im unable to look ahead and see where im going. - PLUS im unable to dismount. all other controls work except the dismount button! which means i have to reload my game. thats it really, can anyone help please? PS the only mod i use that i think interferes with horses ,in anyway, is UFO, which allows all my follwers to ride horses thanks

hey there, i really hope someone can help out here... just like the title states, im getting CTDs whenever i set foot anywhere near riften. ive narrowed it down to literally a ring around the outskirts of the city - - i fast travelled to goldenglow estate, walked to the mansion, faced riften (by the boat at the goldenglow dock) and set out to swim. i got just past the tiny island to my right and CTD!! - fast travel to nightingale hall, walk north towards riften about 30 steps and it happens again CTD! - i tried fast travelling to riften stables and merryfair farm (just NW of the stables) but both attempts instantly CTD before it loaded. so im assuming they are encompassed within this "ring of failure" - i CAN, however, fast travel into riften, and freely walk around town and in/out of buildings, but as soon as i try to exit any of the city gates into skyrim...... CTD the problem only started today (30th may), previously i have been able to come and go from riften as i please. i even managed to complete the thieves guild this morning. no other area has given me problems, ive chosen many random locations to fast travel to and wander around to see if the problem occurs, but nothing happens, the game works fine. i had read a similar topic from a few people having similar problems around falkreath, ive tried the solutions posted there, but nothing seems to work if anyone can help with this i'll be ever so grateful, i just dont know what to do anymore, besides starting a new game. (and that is NOT happening - 2nd playthrough 120+ hours so far...)
