  1. I have a custom follower who has a slightly smaller head and ears than vanilla. Her earrings aren't aligned correctly. How can I fix this? I've resized hair in Nifskope, but I've not had any success actually moving meshes. Thanks for any advice, Odey
  2. You can stop Steam from updating Skyrim by setting its "appmanifest_489830.acf" file to READ ONLY. Not that it helps you at this point unless you have system restore save point prior to the update you can roll back to. I didn't think it was worth updating Skyrim for the few "new features" and the potential compatibility issues at the time. I still don't but, a lot of mods have been updated now for the Anniversary Edition. I have 700+ mods working with 1.5.97 I've been working on for years. Seems crazy too me to jeopardize all that work by "upgrading." It is still possible to download older versions of Skyrim from Steam but, it's somewhat complicated. Oh, how do I motivate myself to work on modded Skyrim? Good question! I want to obtain the knowledge to mod/and make mods for future Bethesda games like Starfield and ESVI. Skyrim is the only game I'm aware of that has 10's of thousands of mods of all kinds of varieties that allow you to totally customize the game the way you want it to be. No two modded versions of Skyrim are alike. Unless you install a modpack. Making the game conform to your vision is part of the fun of modding!
  3. Here is a video of modded Skyrim with ENB at 4K on a 13900k and 4090. This hardware is unable to maintain 60FPS at 4k... As I suspected. Now, this is just one example and we don't know what type of LOD settings he's using or exactly what mods, so take this with a grain of salt. Still, it's disturbing that a 13900k and 4090 "seemingly" cannot maintain 60 FPS at 4K with ENB. And this wasn't in areas that have high draw calls as far as I can tell either. He's not even running that many mods and there wasn't a bunch of ENB lights... It appears DX11 is the bottleneck, well and *cough* ENB... Gotta have that though right? 30% Hit! approx. There are all kinds of variables that could have skewed this test. Like I said, grain of salt. I was expecting way more improvements from that hardware on modded Skyrim though. The game just doesn't seem to scale well at all with a ton of mods and ENB thrown at it... The NEW DLSS Mod I read about sounds interesting though. > https://www.gamesradar.com/skyrim-dlss/
  4. The question is how much. There are no definitive benchmarks showing how much single core performance impacts draw calls in Skyrim. At least not that I can find. The vast majority of FPS slow downs or spikes (on high end systems) seems to be caused by draw calls above 10K from my research on this topic and personal experience on over 50 different modded builds. Draw calls seem to be the number one culprit of poor FPS in Skyrim.
  5. As a lot of you know, draw calls above 10-11K cause massive fps hits in Skyrim SE due to DX11 limitations. My question is, has anyone upgraded to a modern cpu like the 13900k from something like a 9700k and seen a significant FPS improvement in their game? I am trying to find out just how much single threaded performance impacts draw calls. A lot of people like to speculate on this topic, but I'm looking for actual before and after evidence on the same modded build after a cpu upgrade. Not videocard upgrade. My FPS stays at 60fps at 1080p until I hit around 10k draw calls. Then it drops to around 45fps. This is on a heavily modded build (600+mods) with ENB, Dyndolod Ultra Trees, Grass Cached out to Far Lod, 4K textures, etc. All I want to know is if you upgraded your CPU and saw a significant improvement or not in draw call performance. I have my doubts on much of an improvement because of DX11's "supposed" soft cap on draw calls around 11K. Thank you, Odey
  6. Hello, this is my first post ever here. (in the SE forums) I've been digging for several days now trying to find a way to move the freecam vertically or in the y axis without moving forward or back. None of the camera mods have this function as far as I can tell. I use an xbox 360 controller to control the flycam or freecam. I've also looked for mods that allow camera scripting, or the ability to program a short path and trigger it. ie. pan straight up 50 feet and stop.... My question is: Is this a hard limitation of the game? It seems so from my investigation so far. I want to do vertical lift-off shots like what you may have seen from drone footage. So I'm hoping someone knowledgeable in this area can answer this. Thank you, Odey This abandoned mod is the closest thing I've found so far that even talks about y axis camera scripting: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/79041 If Meridia can blast you "straight" up into the atmosphere, hold you there and let you float harmlessly to the ground.....Ima thinkin it's possible to do the same with the camera! 1:23 - 3:45 in video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6fFSgyTRCs So the code is there. Somewhere. Buried deeeeep...
