Need Help with an very cool companion quest
VT08 replied to tumbajamba's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Ideas
Well I'm going to support the fists idea. I was thinking he could just smash people with his bare hands. Honestly Tumba, I was thinking you'd be going over more of this stuff with me. ;) -
That's from a mod I'm working on, actually, titled "Ranger Gear". The new armor will be featured in the coming update, along with some other variants of the Ranger armor. A version without the coat would be pretty cool, but I don't think it's very do-able without doing a lot of the work from scratch.

Looks like you're right Desuchan! It seems to be the hat from that mod, just retextured to match the armor in that screenshot. *edit Closer inspection has revealed that it's not, in fact, the same hat. Curious... but an interesting little detail concerning this side venture is that it is a hat that I was searching for almost a year ago and never found! So, thanks a great deal for helping fulfill an old request for a source! I'd practically given up on it. Well, in any case, I'm still trying to find the hat seen in that screenshot. Any further leads from anyone would be appreciated.
-
Shame that the armor's no longer available. I don't think the hat's from that mod though, is it?
-
top is a retexture of http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=24443 hat i dunno. maybe http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11014 probably not though That's the top alright, though the rest of the outfit must have been taken from elsewhere. The hat's definitely not in Pale Rider's collection, though. I should know -- I've had it for some time. Thanks for helping, but I'm still looking.
-
Anyone know where to find this hat? Looks to be similar to a Red Mage's (of Final Fantasy) hat, but naturally in a different color. http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/6587/3124011271762897.th.jpg The outfit would be nice too, and even if these meshes have had their textures modified (which I suspect may be the case) I'd love to know their source.

I was wondering, would it be possible to unlock tattoos utilized exclusively by NPC's (like the one used by the Silent Sister dwarf the player faces in the Proving)? Honestly that's the only one that actually comes to mind, but at the same time I'd like to see some of the extra complexions unlocked as well (the "older" faces used by the Cousland warden's parents, and Wynne, respectively).

It's the Gantz armour, from this mod: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7301 Thanks, Maywire!

Thanks for the reply, but while the accessories are from Tailor Made, the armor itself is not. The reason I assume it's a retex of the Chinese Stealth Suit is because of the general shape and a post in the Tailor Made thread (where the image was posted and commented on as being a retex of the Steal Suit). So, I really don't know, but either way I'm still interested in finding the armor. Also, I've been using Kikai's shop for quite some time, and the necklace I'm looking for isn't a part of that mod. Again, thank you for the reply, but sadly I am still searching for both those mods. If anybody can tell me where to find them I would appreciate it.

Could someone please tell me what mod this necklace is from? *CAUTION: NUDITY* http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/5923/852411250659624.jpg Also, where can I find this retexture of the Chinese Stealth Suit? http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/8291/542411247970731.th.jpg Thanks in advance!

Alright, I'm sure this has come up a few times before, but the search function wasn't exactly helpful when I typed in "Pink hands for custom races". I've made custom races before, but since I was mostly using the default textures (other than the face) I never really ran into any problems. Now that I'm using "custom" textures for the whole body, I keep running into the same problem... that is, neon pink hands. I know that this is usually a sign that there are missing textures or that the wrong directory is being pointed to, but having checked and double-checked that to ensure that I just misplaced my hand textures, I'm not really sure what the problem is. This graphical error also shows up in 1st Person. Any ideas on what I need to do to fix it?

Stop trying to throw the topic in another direction, we havn't even got hold of the basic heavy armour yet! Sorry, it wasn't my intention. I was just trying to offer some suggestions. I'll keep them to myself until everything else has been sorted.

A new race? I don't know, aren't most armors body replacers anyway? I suppose that the lack of fingers and inhuman calves could make for some odd animations, but other than that, porting Tali's armor and having it replace the player's body would likely solve any trouble with the bust size. Would just the helmet be doable? Possibly a retexture of one of the regular human armors to make it resemble Tali's?
-
Out of curiosity, do you have any interest in making Tali's armor?
-
Oh, that does look good. They both look like they'd fit in with the existing gameworld nicely.

Fallout Tactic Classic Power Armor Add-on
VT08 replied to Bladerting's topic in Fallout 3's Mod Ideas
I'm fairly certain that Fallout Tactics isn't considered canon by most people, including Bethesda. The only reason this seems to be an issue is that most folks seem like they would rather forget that the game ever existed; so, sadly, you might not have very many supporters. But that said, I did enjoy the game, and though it seems unlikely to be the sort of equipment in possession of the Brotherhood (especially in the hands of a bunch of exiles), it IS very nice armor, and it would be good to see it included in the game in some way. It shares some similarities with the present design of Enclave armor, though it is much sleeker in design and appearance. It could likely be attributed to them in some way. Perhaps an armor for battlefield commanders or skirmishers? http://g.imagehost.org/t/0727/BOS_fsb.jpg Also, I agree with you on the Environmental Armor. It was originally going to be included in Fallout 2, but was cut content due to time constraints. It would be great to see it in Fallout 3 as a potential alternative to powered armor. I made a similar request a few months back, but sadly, it never generated any interest. http://g.imagehost.org/t/0355/EA_Sketch_13_small.jpg http://g.imagehost.org/t/0516/Environmental_armour_3d_model.jpg http://g.imagehost.org/t/0172/Environmental_armor_TT.jpg -
There's a mod that uses scripts to increase the size of the power armor, but as TheOutlander said, it also increases the size of everything else. http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2743

Oh, wow, looking good! May I suggest a shoulderlamp (just one, don't want to hide that beautiful detailing after all)? I was thinking something like the colonial marines from Aliens! http://www.colonialmarines.net/armor/armor.html I realize that the helmet probably has advanced vision modes for the wearer, making such a light redundant, but if the power armored trooper is accompanied by regulars wearing combat armor, the shoulder-mounted light could serve as a way to increase a non-power armored squadmate's visibility. Alternatively, make it include a camera! That way, you could reason that footage of the thing in battle is being used either to make vids that can be reviewed by officers and scientists, or as morale-boosting propaganda for viewers back home... perhaps both...

I don't think you have to be a Japanophile to appreciate this armor, acoathanger. It's pretty over the top, and honestly, brings to mind the way the U.S. viewed the Japanese during WWII... that is to say, as nationalistic fanatics. Considering that Fallout 3 is a game full of this sort of thing, with all the propaganda (both Communist and anti-Communist) for the sake of black comedy, this doesn't really feel out of place as it is. That said, I too would appreciate some more "understated" textures that, while maybe including a "made in Japan" stamp somewhere on it to identify its origin, feature a bit less of the overt influences. Maybe something for the special ops/elite infiltrator unit? Like unmarked choppers.
-
Oh wow! This looks GREAT.

The new helmet design is REALLY cool. It makes this armor stand out from its Advanced Power Armor Mark II roots. I love the way that you put the "eyes" in the "mouth" of the helmet. Really adds to the overall effect, I think, suggesting that a camera is used to see rather than just regular lenses. But would you give some consideration to releasing both versions of the helmet? Maybe with different functions/skill bonuses. This way, you could make people that like the old design and the new design both happy. Perhaps the old one is a prototype... ?

Yes, it really is sad that people seem to have no problem with splitting people's heads open with a shot from a high-powered rifle or a hammer, yet get so offended at the mention of sex. I remember that fiasco on the news a while back over Mass Effect. It was, quite frankly, laughable. The human form is natural and worthy of appreciation, and sexuality is far less sinister than bloodlust, but you wouldn't think so from the way everyone acts.
-
Well said, Skree. Whether a person is attracted to the masculine or feminine form, there's nothing to be ashamed of whether it's a well-written description, a well-made piece of art, or in a game with photorealistic graphics.

Does anyone know where to find this hat? I'm absolutely certain it's not in Pale Rider's collection.

Looking good, Baelkin! Do you plan on adding the mask hose?
