Greetings friends, Recently i've started working on machinima for Skyrim. I've used a combination of FXAA Intejector and Vivid Weathers (with some Dynavision) to get some pretty decent results (if you want to know what i'm referring to look wise, you can look at THIS and THIS!). I've been adding stuff gradually, trying to find performance friendly mods so i can reduce how much FPS i lose, etc. so the machinima are as smooth as possible However, I wanted to upgrade the look and found out that some ENB's look awesome, and don't reduce FPS too much. I decided I wanted to try some to see if (a) that were true considering how much you lose depends on your computer power, and (b) if I liked the ENB look for machinima stuff. I found THIS ENB. I felt like the look was perfect, and it said there was minimum FPS loss. I thought i'd, at least, try it and see how it went! I downloaded what was required from the ENB website according to the mod (so the proper ENB #) and put the files where they were suppose to go. As I was working through this process I followed THIS tutorial. In between following this to a T, and the mod page I was sure I had everything accounted for. When I loaded up Skyrim, I was happy to see the ENB binary on the top left! One thing I did right! And then I loaded the game...and the ENB preset didn't work. I was fine at first. Since i'm not very good with ENB's i figured I'd scower the internet. Several hours later, i'm about to scream because i'm frustrated. My laptop runs with windows 10. Here is the SkyrimPrefs info. I edited the file in the Skyrim folder under my games: [General]fBrightLightColorB=1.0000fBrightLightColorG=1.0000fBrightLightColorR=1.0000iStoryManagerLoggingEvent=-1bEnableStoryManagerLogging=0[imagespace]bDoDepthOfField=1iRadialBlurLevel=1[Display]iBlurDeferredShadowMask=3fInteriorShadowDistance=3000.0000fShadowDistance=4000iShadowMapResolutionSecondary=1024iShadowMapResolutionPrimary=2048iShadowSplitCount=2iMaxAnisotropy=1fLeafAnimDampenDistEnd=4600.0000fLeafAnimDampenDistStart=3600.0000fTreesMidLODSwitchDist=5000fGamma=1.0000fDecalLOD2=1500.0000fDecalLOD1=1000.0000fSpecularLODStartFade=1000fShadowLODStartFade=200.0000fLightLODStartFade=2500iTexMipMapMinimum=0iTexMipMapSkip=0iWaterMultiSamples=0iMultiSample=1iShadowMode=3bTreesReceiveShadows=0bDrawLandShadows=1bFull Screen=0iSize H=720iSize W=1280fMeshLODFadePercentDefault=1.2000fMeshLODFadeBoundDefault=256.0000fMeshLODLevel2FadeTreeDistance=2048.0000fMeshLODLevel1FadeTreeDistance=2844.0000fMeshLODLevel2FadeDist=1e+007fMeshLODLevel1FadeDist=1e+007iScreenShotIndex=2bShadowMaskZPrepass=0bMainZPrepass=0iMaxSkinDecalsPerFrame=10iMaxDecalsPerFrame=30bFloatPointRenderTarget=1sD3DDevice="ENB"bFXAAEnabled=0iShadowMapResolution=2048fShadowBiasScale=0.25iShadowMaskQuarter=4iAdapter=0iPresentInterval=0iShadowFilter=3bShadowsOnGrass=1bTransparencyMultisampling=0bDeferredShadows=1bDrawShadows=1[Grass]b30GrassVS=1fGrassStartFadeDistance=5000fGrassMaxStartFadeDistance=7000.0000fGrassMinStartFadeDistance=0.0000[MAIN]bGamepadEnable=1bCrosshairEnabled=1fHUDOpacity=1.0000bSaveOnPause=1bSaveOnTravel=1bSaveOnWait=1bSaveOnRest=1fSkyCellRefFadeDistance=150000.0000[GamePlay]bShowFloatingQuestMarkers=1bShowQuestMarkers=1iDifficulty=2[interface]bDialogueSubtitles=0bGeneralSubtitles=0fMouseCursorSpeed=1.0000bShowCompass=1[Controls]fGamepadHeadingSensitivity=1.0000fMouseHeadingSensitivity=0.0125bAlwaysRunByDefault=1bInvertYValues=0bGamePadRumble=1bMouseAcceleration=1bUseKinect=0[Particles]iMaxDesired=750[saveGame]fAutosaveEveryXMins=15.0000[AudioMenu]fAudioMasterVolume=0.0000fVal7=1.0000uID7=704797923fVal6=1.0000uID6=1025960700fVal5=1.0000uID5=1025960701fVal4=1.0000uID4=1025960702fVal3=1.0000uID3=94881fVal2=0.4000uID2=466532fVal1=1.0000uID1=554685fVal0=0.8000uID0=1007612[Clouds]fCloudLevel2Distance=262144.0000fCloudLevel1Distance=32768.0000fCloudLevel0Distance=16384.0000fCloudNearFadeDistance=9000.0000[TerrainManager]fTreeLoadDistance=40000fBlockMaximumDistance=150000fBlockLevel1Distance=40000fBlockLevel0Distance=25000fSplitDistanceMult=1.1bShowLODInEditor=0[NavMesh]fObstacleAlpha=0.5000fCoverSideHighAlpha=0.8000fCoverSideLowAlpha=0.6500fEdgeFullAlpha=1.0000fEdgeHighAlpha=0.7500fEdgeLowAlpha=0.5000fTriangleFullAlpha=0.7000fTriangleHighAlpha=0.3500fTriangleLowAlpha=0.2000fLedgeBoxHalfHeight=25.0000fEdgeDistFromVert=10.0000fEdgeThickness=10.0000fPointSize=2.5000[Trees]bRenderSkinnedTrees=1uiMaxSkinnedTreesToRender=20[Decals]uMaxDecals=250bDecals=1bSkinnedDecals=1uMaxSkinDecals=50uMaxSkinDecalsPerActor=40[LOD]fLODFadeOutMultObjects=7.5fLODFadeOutMultItems=4.5fLODFadeOutMultActors=6fLODFadeOutMultSkyCell=1.0000[Launcher]bEnableFileSelection=1bShowAllResolutions=0uLastAspectRatio=3[blurShaderHDR]bDoHighDynamicRange=1[blurShader]bUseBlurShader=0[Water]iWaterReflectHeight=512iWaterReflectWidth=512bUseWaterDisplacements=1bUseWaterRefractions=1bUseWaterReflections=1bUseWaterDepth=1 Let me know if ya'll need anything else!

I learn well by watching video tutorials and jumping into CK and trying stuff out. Unfortunately, as I learn how to build worlds and such, I've come to realize that my landscaping skills are rubbish. I'm not referring to the act of doing something (pull the land above the water, go to this menu to change your water type, etc) but the aesthetics. Like, I'm not joking when I say my world atm is literally just plains. I mean, the farm is located in a vast plain field as is the farming community two minutes away, and I attempted to make hills and started making a forest, but it looks terrible. I'm afraid of building more hills and such because they look so weird. Does anyone have recommended tutorials (video or written) that walk you through how to not make something look like trash? In addition, I assume if one is creating a new world, you have to nav mesh absolutely everything since it tells the NPC's where they can walk?

At this point in the early stage of this mod, I'm experimenting and learning how to do stuff before I get to it farther down the road in my mod journey. It's important to me that I know 100%, when the time comes, that I'll be able to get my characters into Skyrim without problems (since this will turn into a mod in the far future, and i am aware that i will have to PM the mod owners and ask permission to use their mods in my mod). My plan is that, once I get them into the game with no problems, I'll leave them as followers...for now. Once I figure this out, I'm writing down the steps in a notebook for later. Anyway, to my problem. A friend brought Photo booth to my attention. It made more sense to use it rather than the small, not so powerful character customizer in the Creation Kit. Unfortunately, because I use Enhanced Character Edits, i'm having some problems. So, I use Photo booth to create my character. I proceed to finish as so: Then, when I load up Creation Kit, it looks like this: He went from being a somewhat cute looking half elf to an old nobleman that wants to bite your head off. This is how he looks when I load him into the game. I can provide a photo if desired. My friend helped me locate the hair for him. But long story short, how do i get my new NPC/follower into the game with all his edits in Enhanced Character? Here's what they look like in the game:

Thanks man. Appreciate the reply. Enderal was the issue. I was unable to play Skyrim when I had Enderal loaded because the files weren't available. When I got rid of Enderal later, the necessary files re-appeared. That's good to note. I'm early in the writing stage, and nowhere close to knowing how many lines my companion romance will have.

So i'm sick of the lack of decent male romance followers for Skyrim. They're either female followers, buggy, not romance-able or just...no. I figured since I was looking for something specific in my google search I might as well just suck it up, and mod it myself. I started writing the dialogue at school, and now i'm at home trying to get the Creation Kit to work. It's been at least a year since I tried it, and i can't remember if I had this issue before. Right now, all I want to do is create a few in game NPC's/followers as practice, and amp up what i do with them little by little until I'm comfortable. Unfortunately, when I click data to pick the main Skyrim file, the window opens but there are no files to choose from. I'm not sure if i'm suppose to search for something, or if the files are suppose to just pop up. Can someone help? In addition, for all those who have created followers with custom voices, when would you recommend seeking voice actors to play roles? Would you wait until after all the dialogue is finished? Or, when you're 3/4 of the way through and 100% determined as to how many you need? I'm quite new to this, so I apologize if this is in the wrong area. I'd appreciate any help!

Unfortunately it didn't work. I also tried disabling all my DLC, and logging into my only profile. It won't go past the first loading screen. Anyone else have any ideas?

I'll give it a look. Since i'm running my game via Steam, and we have insanely slow internet, i can't download the game on a PC beforehand. I haven't tried moving the info.plist file, however. If I can find it (and thus far, i've been unable to) I'll move it. But files are insanely harder to find on a Mac.

I realized after posting this, originally, that it was in the wrong spot. I deleted the content (and replaced it with a more appropriate topic to fit that board) and thus, moved my issue here! I apologize if i'm causing anyone a headache over this as I'm on a time limit. First, I sincerely apologize if this in the right spot (this is my first time posting on here). Since Mac isn't PC, and this involves a combination of a DA game (Origins) and a port (wineskin), I thought this was my best bet. In addition, this isn't a bug report, but a plea for help! I've gone on two days with this problem, and i'm very very frustrated. If this is in the wrong spot, please inform me and i'll go to wherever i need to to re-post. This was originally a post on steam (something I posted), but i'm copying and pasting. Someone suggested I do this because people here might have knowledge and ability to help. I've added a little bit more to my post. From my post on steam: I've stalked every single forum thread, question and possible solution on the internet. I've installed dot20, CSMT, and physx (via wineskin). I've tried almost every solution possible, and Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition is still giving me problems on steam. I've been trying to get it work for two days on my Mac via wineskin. Here's a rundown of the problem:Loading up the game works. I get to the menu. I hear the music. Everything is very smooth (minus the intro video flickering, and eventually, the intro video goes black. That is a wineskin problem, and i tried to fix it with no luck. Eventually, I disabled the intro video). I click "New Game" select Dragon Age Origins. It goes to the loading screen, works for a few seconds, freezes, and gives me a program error. It reads as follows, "The program DAOrigins.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I've disabled the sound. I've downloaded dot20, CSMT, and physx. I've lowered my graphics to lowest setting possible, and tried playing in Windowed mode. I've verified cache integrity. I can't remember what else i've done (I will let you know if you offer a solution i've tried). I've downloaded the game twice (steam decided it was necessary, and once again i sought the internet for any comment or message that may help. Of course, I found nothing so i let it go. Slow internet results in a 12.5gb game taking over seven hours to download). However, i'm getting a little frustrated. I would appreciate any help. I don't understand code, or complicated computer talk. Otherwise, I would've solved this problem a long time ago. And i request you don't ask me to "purchase a PC." I've started saving for one, but I have a long way to go (This Mac was mandatory. I needed it for something else). I apologize if I sound rude. This problem is giving me a headache, and I have limited time to find a solution. Here are my specs: OS X YosemiteVersion 10.10.5MacBook Pro (Retina - 13-inch, Early 2015)Processor: 2.7 GHz Core i5Memory: 8GB 1867 MHz DDR3Startup Disk: Macintosh HDGraphics: Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536 MB I'd post the details from the error, but it won't let me. I'd appreciate any help. This game is old, so I assumed it would give me fewer problems. I've wineskined Skyrim with 0 issues. Thanks!

I realize I posted this in the wrong. I apologize sincerely. I've moved it to the appropriate area. Though, I am curious as to how games like Skyrim, etc. run comparing a Xbox to a PC or other. For example, does the game run smoother on Xbox then PC?
