  1. If you have modded items in your inventory/chest, and later you disable the mod providing those items, you will CTD every time you open your inventory/ chest because of the, "bad editor ID". Skyrim can no longer recognize the modded item. Here is a proposal for a way to fix this. In a game called StarBound there is a neat feature where if you have modded items, and later uninstall their mod, your inventory/chest will have bunch of green cubes in their place. These "perfect blocks" are actually a unique crafting item that can be made into a special set of armor for your character. Why not do something similar for Skyrim? If a bad editor id is detected, the ID in question is removed from inventory/chest and replaced with something known (like lock picks or gold). this might make a slight delay for opening things, because it will have to search every time you open a container or inventory, but at least there is no CTD. Is this a good idea? Is it impossible because reasons? Has something similar already been done?
