I take it you have the main TKAA mod but not Bruma patch.. so you get a couple vanilla potato head kids in Bruma. I'd say no real big deal.
From what the author says, I doubt the TKAA mods will be back.
When you find a mod that you think is great and want to use often, it's a good idea to archive a copy.

Use LOOT as a starting point to get your plugins in a decent load order. You may need to make some tweaks depending upon personal preferences, but it does provide a good starting point.
Official LOOT web page: https://loot.github.io/
Also, you indicated that you are using the Legendary Edition. Are you referring to original Skyrim (32 bit) with all DLC? Or are you referring to Skyrim Special Edition (64 bit) which includes all DLC? I ask because Legendary Edition typically refers to original Skyrim and yet you have posted in the Special Edition section of the forums.
EDIT:
Just realized after posting that you asked about INSTALL order. I'd recommend a different mod manager. Either Vortex or Mod Organizer. Both of these utilize a virtual file system which means that the act of installing will not mess with any other mod. You still need to adjust the priority order according to your personal preference. A good rule of thumb is to sort your plugins and then adjust your priority order to match that order. Anything remaining that did not have a plugin boils down to author instruction and user preference.
Vortex is easier to get up and running but learning how the rules system works in order to get the specific arrangement that you want takes a little bit of practice.
Mod Organizer requires one to have a good grasp on how the various files are loaded by the game. While mods themselves can be dragged and dropped to new positions in the priority order (aka install order), individual files that may be undesired in the "winning" mod have to be located and marked as hidden.
Both can be setup to have the exact same result, how they get there is a little different.
With NMM, one must literally install each mod in the correct order. Getting some out of order can mean having to start completely over. It is doable but you'll end up spending more time installing and uninstalling to get things the way you want them.
I don't understand the statement about NMM Ishara. I know you're very knowledgeable which makes it all the more confusing to me. I've been using NMM a long time and don't see what installation has to do with LO.
At least not after running LOOT and making any adjustments.

Hi Kit,
Check your populated...Reborn mods. I never used them but I think they're all, or some are Skyrim and not SSE mods. You can't use most LE mods in SSE.
-
Before you go any farther there's a few mods you should DL. Don't know which version of TKAA you have, I'm guessing V. one.
Anyway, You dumped RSChildren and it's patches & went with TKAA, so you need some patches from "The Kids Are Alright" files.
Cutting room floor patch
Palaces and Castles patch
Alternate start Live Another Life
Hearthfire Multiple Adoptions
Helgen Reborn.

Yes, you need to choose. If you keep RSChildren, if I'm remembering right, you also need the RSChildren patch for USSEP.
If your son has access to the Internet over there can't he just post his LO here on Nexus & ask for a little help? Setting up a fair sized stable mod load order means reading each mod description carefully and adding any of it's requirements, running LOOT to get initial load order and SSEEdit to check for conflicts.
I think the best way to sort this out would be for you to start a new game with just your sons mods, run LOOT and see where you are then. It's all for naught of course if your son doesn't have a strong enough laptop. -
That's quite a load order. There's some mods there I'm not familiar with.
I'm far from one of the more knowledgeable people here but the first thing I'd recommend is to add the unofficial Skyrim special edition patch. Does your son use LOOT for load order?
I see he has RSChildren and also TKAA. Two mods that effect or change the same thing is usually a no no.
Does he use a mod manager?
Oops. I see he has USSEP.

No, I had no idea of any of that! Thanks smart man!

If you put his mod list in a spoiler here @Nexus I'm sure some of the sharp people here will help.

On the subject of food: Why can I go to a farmers field and take all their crop, right in front of the owners as they are hoeing? I do it but it feels wrong!

The netch is another harmless soul that I don't like killing. The Skaal who claim to kill only when necessary, kill them to prove their prowess?...phonies!
Lots of things in Tamriel are contradictory.

Don't know of a mod that puts a marker above a corpse but the "Detect Dead" alteration spell, (not a mod) lights up dead bodies a pretty good distance away for me.

The most simple way to build a Hearthfire home is to use this cheat mod & D/L the Hearthfire supplies from the files list. All supplies needed to build any configuration you like.

Looks like I'll need to change Nvidia settings every time I want to play RDR2 & then back again after I exit game. Got to be a better way or it's not worth the trouble.
-
I Just D/L RDR2 from steam but when starting game I can't get to settings, (or anything else) b/c size is a mile too big. How do i fix?
PC HDMI to Denon receiver to 55" TV

As JRJump said it could be anything, Bad mod, high string count, etc. Sorry I couldn't have been more help.

Did you try a save game script cleaner like Fallrim tools?
-
Adding & deleting mods mid-game is always dangerous, as it changes the L/O. If you could go back to an earlier save and recreate the L/O you had at that time, that might do it. Sometimes though it's just best top start over & learn from your mistakes.

Did you use the restorations "Bless Home" spell home on Mammoth manor? After using the "moving" dialog on one of the kids they wont move to the new home until you leave them, so go do something else & they should turn up at the new home a little later. Important: If you are using a child mod like TKAA, be sure to read and follow the inst. in the description and sticky for whatever version of the child overhaul you're using.

My sound from pc suddenly quits and can't find anything in Nvidia or pc settings to help. At the same time I notice there's also a Nvidia driver update available, so I update Nvidia & sound is restored. Happened 3 times now and have no idea why. It's a GTX 1080 card. Anyone know why the sound is quitting & what the driver update has to do with it?
I have pc output going into Denon receiver via HDMI but don't think that has anything to do with the problem.
I have think the update may be resetting something, but what setting?
-
One easy way to keep from getting an unwanted CC update is to go to steam page; R. click SSE / properties/ go to updates and on automatic updates select " only update game when I launch it."
You also need steam running before launching the game with SKSE, or it will update, so I'd recommend setting steam to run at pc start up. In steam go to settings/interface, and check the box if it's not already checked. -
Thanks, mystery solved. Simple Stuff everybody probably knew but me!
TKAA is disappeard?

Some of the TKAA mods take off the child flag which makes them killable. Unfortunately that also does open the door for a pervert to misuse the mod in unintended ways. Pretty sure there are other child mods that take the child flag off also though.
