I'm curious if it'd be possible to disable post processing effects like bloom and hdr thourgh CK. COuld someone help me please?

Skyrim is very cpu-hungry, your core 2 duo wont be enough to max everything out, especially shadows, as skyrim uses the processor to render them. Forget AA and put everything on medium or high and you'll get a decent framerate. Also, get the latest skyrim patch, helps with some problems. What drivers are u using for your GPU? The newest catalyst has a lot of skyrim-specific optimizations.

Try to set the fTreeLoadDistance to 0 in skyrimprefs.ini. It doesnt actually disable trees, dont worry but it helped some people with this problem. I've seen many threads about this and by the looks of it, this is a problem with the game engine not being able to properly use vertextexturefetch on some ATI cards.
