    Pip-Pad/Pip-Boy 2000 Cause CTD exactly 20 seconds after boot.

    I'm at my wits end here, I really hate the base Pip-Boy, but I can't get either of these to work and I have no idea why at all. I've installed them manually and with NMM. I've tried to start a new game, load current save, old saves. Nothing works, and that's if I even make it to the menu at all. The game pretty consistently crashes within around 19-20 seconds.

    So this is probably a stupid question, but I can't find any solutions anywhere. I just reinstalled Skyrim, and started installing a few mods, and every time I launch the game, it just says "Skyrim has stopped working, windows is checking for a solution to the problem." I've never had this happen to me before, and I have no idea how to fix it or what mods might be causing it. Can someone please help me?

    Why is my performance so bad?

    Hey guys,

     

    Why is my performance dying? I have a lot of texture mods and the vivid weathers enb (as well as a few others) and my fps regularly dips below 30fps. I know I should expect a performance hit from mods, but I run almost every other game maxed out at 60fps. Are mods just badly optimised or should I upgrade my CPU/GPU? I intend to upgrade soon anyway, but I don't know what to upgrade...

    Put it on the end of your load list & see what happens.

     

    Also download the mod manually & look at the file structure. Then make sure that the all their files in your game are in the proper place.

     

    This is the only mod in my load list that Loot gets wrong. If it is not near the end of my list I get brown heads.

     

    I also replaced their textures with ones from the Mature Skin mod to cut down their impact on the game.

    Thanks so much dude, for some reason loads of meshes were missing, had to manually sort it out, all good now.

     

    This is another reason why I'm planning to switch to Mod Organizer from NMM, it has a way to 'see' the conflicts of textures/meshes - even from non-loose files that you cannot normally see. Jones177 suggestions are all good too.. This is a bug that hits a lot of modders from time to time. It's aka as 'the gray face bug' or 'dark face', lot's of videos and articles out there on it - and to this day, not one concrete 'all encompassing' fix for it.

     

    I had one follower get it -Celestine the healer - but it did not show up right away. As we left Whiterun, I know for a fact that her face was of normal color, then after a battle inside a bandit fortress, I noticed her face was a dark purple color. I remember I had installed a mature skin replacer - but from a mod suggesting it was an 'all in one' esp for all body types. Apprently not! I was able to fix her issue by manually copying in her mesh/texture files without involving NMM. That fixed my issue.

    Yeah I'm gonna switch to mod organiser soon, everyone says its way better.

    For some reason, the faces (and only the faces, everything else is okay) of a few, not all, characters are purple. Only Illia and Aela have done this so far. Anyone know why? I've attached a photo and my load order. Please please help.
