  1. Hey there, I'm desperately tring to edit my follower Mjoll's outer appearance, first in the NPC editor, then in the creation kit. I read and watched several tutorials on editing NPCs in general and on dealing with the "brown-face-bug", but it just won't work - the changes don't appear in game. Now I was wondering, if there is a difference between editing "normal" non-follower-NPCs and followers? Do I necessarily have to rename her in the CK? Maybe one has some advice for me or maybe a tutorial on editing existing followers? Edit: I don't know, if this is of relevance, but I just read, that I have to also tick and load the update.esm, before I start working with the CK. When I do so, I get several errors like the following one: Assert File: C:\_Skyrim\Code\TESV\TES Shared\misc\BGSLocalizedString.cpp Line: 2871 LOCALIZATION: Error opening or reading strings file. Then the CK crashes. I already deleted both the skyrim.esm and update.esm and have them reloadad via steam, but the problem remains the same. Any suggestions on that?
  2. No I don't have "pretty faces" installed, but maybe I tried it out in the past and there are still some remains in the guts of the game? And I see, it's not a bug, it's a feature... ;) btw. after reading other actual threads, my problem seems to be due to patch 1.5 ... so I'll wait for further suggestions ...
  3. After starting the DK and loading Aelathehuntress (as active file, ticking nothing else), I get the following warnings: "MASTERFILE: LOCALIZATION: Lookup failed for ID: 0x00012584 from strings file: STRINGS/Skyrim_ENGLISH.DLSTRINGS" (repeating for about 30-40 other IDs) then directly followed by "MASTERFILE: NavmeshInfo 00028e37 has no parent space, ignoring" and several "MASTERFILE: Errors were encountered during InitItem for reference: ...." Finally when the stuff is loaded, I select Aelathehuntress and press ctrl + F4 to export facegen data -> another warning pops up "FACEGEN: Tint mask texture '...' is not the correct expected dimension of 256x256 ..." (about 5-6 times) and then finally it says "Done." When launching the game now (making sure the mod is ticked before starting), I get the browned-head problem and still no changes ... WHAT NOW??? (btw. your attached files won't open and concerning that F4-thing ... I'm just a modding noob, not a retard .... :whistling: ) EDIT: I just saw, that Aelas ID in the CK is 0001A696, but in the game it is 0001A697 ... if this helps?!?!
  4. Uh, looks like I missed a HUGE step. I never used the CK before ... :geek: Could you get a bit more into detail on that? What do I have to do first when opening the CK? What data do I have to load/select? Aelathehuntress as active plugin-file? And then, after doing what you said (and ignoring several eyeliner-warnings ^^) and saving the data ... guess what? It still doesn't work! What else could I be missing?
  5. Hi, I startet playing around with the NPC Editor, but am completely desperate after several hours of trying! I picked Aela the huntress and changed a bit of everything, to see, which changes really take effect. No matter what I tried, the only things that did change were size and weight. Also the warpaint vanished after changing its color?! The rest (haircut & -color, selection of nose, eyes, etc.) always remains unchanged. I checked for data in the wrong places (e.g. /interface and /meshes) and found none, also tried everything with a savegame from last week, before I installed the NPC Editor. Same result. Other presently active mods are: A quality world map, Apachii sky hair, Better beast races v2, Cloaks of skyrim, Crimson Tide - Blood, Enhanced night Skyrim, Feminine running forward, Fhaarkas softer animal fur, Fountain of youth beauty project, High quality food, Improved male hands, Improved NPC clothing, No more blocky faces, Realistic water textures, SkyUI, Vivid eyes & Wars in Skyrim. Of course I tried with all of them being deactivated, but the result ... you can guess it ...
