OK...first! - excellent!! This is a very helpful feature and I think it will save a lot of head/heartaches for authors who do good work and diligently offer everyone the information they need on their description page only to have people not read the thing and ask foolish questions. Second....please don't assume that users ignore that required button. I have downloaded tons of mods and, until I read this message I didn't even realize this existed!! Why??? Not because I am slothful, willfully reckless or just a twerky teenie who doesn't follow instructions EV-ER but because the icon is so damn small and crammed up there! In fact, I usually read desc pages twice if not three times before I do anything. (And btw....have you seen the length of desc pages such as Trade and Barter? Fookin' TOME!!) Why in all the seven hells didn't required files get a larger sized button installed on the same bar as the desc/posts/read me?? Do you think that that might be one of the reasons people get confused and ask?? Anyway, back to the positive: this is an elegant and appreciated fix. And I do thank you!

Well, I don't know what happened but I got it to work after painstakingly uninstalling all mods (to get rid of any possibly corrupted files,) removing skse and hialgo, then adding one thing back in at a time. Started a new game entirely only with the Skyrim launcher. Then added SKSE and used it to launch and all was well. Added HiAlgo and got it to work. From there I literally reloaded all my mods a couple three at a time in logical order (aided by the screen shots I have of the last working load order from BOSS that I had before the trouble.) Freaky! Never had trouble with changing resolutions in a game. I had no .ini changes, btw. The only variable that caused this was the screen resolution switch! Anyway....here it is 24 hours later and it's good to go (except for the fact that I had to do BAD uninstalls of several mods that I should have stopped before uninstalling but couldn't load the game to do so! This is probably fubar'ing my old game but I'm loathe to let it go because I'm so far into it!)

Hi all, I just did a fresh install of the game and all mods. Everything was working beautifully but I noticed that I had a bad screen resolution (that first one that is almost square. I went back into the main options and reset the resolution to the one I usually use. Suddenly the game now gives me a CTD at the Bethesda screen! I can't even go back to the setting that was working. Anyone have this happen before? hints? Thanks!

Nope...don't have it. I really don't have anything added on to it or occupying the same piece of real estate. :-( but thanks for the thought!

Hi Dave....Yes to both: I have unofficial patches for Skyrim, Dragonborn and Hearthfire and I also, logically, have the DB and HF DLCs. What is the conflict?

Hi all, Finally decided to pay my 5K to buy Whiterun but it CTD everytime I try to open the door. I don't have any mods affecting this home so I have no idea why it won't let me in. It's been awhile in-game since I became thane I just didn't need or want the house. But there's a book in it I need for the UFO mod so I purchased it...but can't get in! I tried to do a console disable/enable lock/unlock thing but no go. Hints? Thanks!!

Hi everyone, I am encountering something strange with smithing locks: when I go to create a lock it tells me that the lock needs 1 iron and 1 copper ingot. I actually found a copper ingot on a merchant and I thought i was golden but I still wasn't able to create it. I even found copper ore deposits in the hills south of Dragon Bridge! But...when I look in my inventory I only see corundum ore and ingots which the game is really supposed to use. Something is mixed up! I use Crafting Overhaul and I'm wondering if this is causing a problem...anyone else experience this? Thanks!

OMG!! I do not have a folder labeled "moth robe!" How do I get one of these?? Is there a possible workaround with a mod that replaces these meshes? I have Killer Keos full pack but that hasn't changed anything.

*facepalm!* It is NOT...trust me! It's just distracting and weird at this point...especially when you go into the temple of Mara...I mean, whao!

Hi all....I inherited my son's awesome gaming PC. He has a version of Skyrim installed but he can't recall his password for Steam so we are stuck. No Steamy, no playie. Can I purchase a new version of Skyrim, uninstall his old version, then install my new one? Are there any tricky files that hide and which would make this strategy not work out? Thanks for the help!!

I have UFO but have never been able to have more than 4 followers with me at a time. When I try to hire a 5th follower one of them drops out and goes back to their spawn spot (wherever they originally came from.) If you see them again they just sit there and launch insults at you but you can't re-hire them. So....I have no idea how people are getting their 15! (PS - Here's a huge tip! Never equip a follower with a mega awesome piece of gear that you wouldn't want to lose! I use Convenient Horses and keep everything of real import to me in my horse not on my followers. They are way too unpredictable!) That said, right now I leave my group of followers at inns when I am in a town because I don't need them when I'm just walking through towns checking in with people or doing smaller quests. I only take one follower into caves/dungeons because having them all cram in there and fight each other and crap just wore me out! So having multiple followers is starting to wear a little thin. I suppose if I had my gameplay setting at hardcore it would be different and the lot of them would be helpful for dragon battles but I keep my gaming level moderate and just get smart about gear. Two followers through UFO and Convenient Horses mod is really the best way to play it in my experience. Just my NSHO so take it for what you paid for it! :-D

OK....this might already be covered somewhere. If so please just copy and past a URL for me. Since updating to the newest version of Skyrim (after a year of not playing) I have the weirdest thing ever: naked priests. All of them. Male or female...doesn't matter. I only have two clothing/armor mods loaded: Killer Keo's full version and Immersive armors. I switched them both off and no change. These aren't random NPCs either. We're talking all of the main game priest characters such as the male and female head priests in the temple of Mara. (EXCEPT Jade...why??) (Melomal and Dyrini or whatever their names are, are naked.) Naked, naked, naked. And it's ONLY priests. Everyone else is covered. At first I just averted my virtual eyes but now, after a couple of months, I really want them to have their clothes back. Nekkid is kinda boring. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Any hints as to why this is happening? Grazie!!

Uh, no, it's not that complicated. After you add the file to NMM, just hit the activate mod buttton, and NMM will just install the files correctly as if you were online. HA!! :-D OK...oh well....at least I was entertained for awhile

Thanks, ChanChan! I actually figured it out after a bit....but for Adipose: You not only have to install the file's .zip into NMM you *ALSO* have to extract all the files and put them in your Data folder in all their appropriate places! *grumblegrouchNMMisjustlikeObamacare*

Ooo! Ok...can you please explain how to add the files to NMM manually? I added a file directly to the Data file but it didn't show up. A poster on mentioned that they had to "add the files to NMM" but I have no idea how this is done save through downloading off the file page. Would you please help? Thanks so much!!

First...yup, I've completed the College of Winterhold quests. I rule the College. :-) So, yup, I've been here before with that quest, but now I'm on the quest for the fragments of Gauldaur. Every time I try to enter the mine: CTD!! I've tried it alone as well as with my follower. I've unistalled possible mod conflicts. Nada. Just keeps crashing. Any ideas? And for the record, yes all my updates to all my everythings have been duly serviced. I'm one of those crazy ana* people who do not mess around and am constantly cleaning, defraging, updating and backing up. Anyone else have this issue? Cheers!

This one is hard to see but what it shows are spiders in mid-air and ghostly companions that eventually drop out of the sky and make plopping noises all around.

Thanks, Blackrampage! Yes, Skyrim. This really helps as I've just gotten so fed up with the whole CTD every 60-75 min. I'm going to try to re-install my game and see if anything changes. Very frustrating!

Hi everyone, Apologies if this info is posted somewhere else. I've tried a search for the info but haven't come up with anything so I guess I just have to ask! I've seen other posters in other threads talk about making a backup of their savegames. I looked through all the folders and files in the game but don't see anything that says "savedgames" anywhere. Sooooo....how do I back up my saved games in case I want to do a clean install of this game? Thanks in advance!

I think this is an outstanding idea! I love Phantur's suggestions. Also, it would be fun to have a storyline where you are involved in, say, having to transport a prisoner, y'all flirt like hell along the road, and then maybe have the option to have them escape, you have to hunt them down, you find them, fall in love, then you have to decide whether or not y'all will become outlaws or you turn them in anyway or you find out that their "crime" was trumped up and you take it upon yourself to clear their name whilst trying to hide them..... So many possibilities! But mostly I vote for having tension between the two characters in the beginning. The NPC could also be constantly starting things in the towns or on the roads to get the other NPCs to begin to question you or think you said or did something to tick them off and start a brawl whilst the prisoner tries to make an escape. I am far too over committed RL (hence over a month of play and my character is only level 10) but I LOVE this game and will stick with it over time. A well planned, well executed romance mod would be fantastic. Also...my ignorance is showing: What is the "CK" y'all are waiting for??? Cheers!
