  1. It's very do-able, especially seeing the progress in the Pumping Iron mod. You might want to consider aging based on level instead of in-game time. It would be a lot easier to impliment and would give players more versatility with a mechanic like this.
  2. I posted a thread talking about something similar to this. The hardest part of making a mod like this is voicing all the lines for the dragonborn, especially if you're hoping to put in different voices for each specific race and gender. It would be awesome to style dialogue in Skyrim to that of a game like Mass Effect, where you're character speaks and dialogue is done in cinematic games scenes with letterbox camera and allows you to do a lot more with dialogue options. I think Bethesda kind of just farted around when it came dialogue in Skyrim while BioWare really takes the time to write awesome scripts, character development, and do amazing voice acting in their games. If a mod can be made to BioWare Skyrim up a little, that would be awesome. I'd be willing to write scripts for dialogue and voice act if any mod like this was being developed.
  3. I was thinking of doing something like this with the combat system too. The most annoying thing about combat is the lack of good animations outside of kill cams. It would be cool if animations of the player and NPC worked together so there would be an attack animation and then a defense or damage animation to go with it, dealing with whether or not the NPC or player reacted in time to parry the attack. The main thing would be getting the animations and writing the code so that the system would recognize what animation to play in response to the attacker's animation. What you were talking about is do-able, you just need an animator and someone who could impliment these animations into the game (probably via Creation Kit).
  4. I posted a thread about making a dialogue and scene overhaul mod. Basically it would voice the dragonborn, add more dialogue to certain NPC's and followers, add in more romantic lead up dialogue (kiss and hug animations maybe?) before proposing marriage, and have BioWare-styled scenes for dialogue and certain actions (letterbox cinematic style that switches camera view from NPC to player as they speak). I know the voicing would be a lot to do but I can take care of the script writing for dialogue, as well as some of the voice acting since I have professional audio equipment and vocal training. Also, if I had a script written, we could upload it to the mod page and let other voice actors submit their readings of the script part they are interested in - saving us a lot of work. Let me know if you're interested, I'm willing to do a lot of work to achieve this mod so I'm not just asking you guys to do this all by yourselves
  5. I don't know if you're familiar with the Skyrim Witcher Experience mod on Nexus but they are porting over Witcher game material including NPC's. Considering that the Witcher 1 had Dryads in it, they might be putting something like this in the mod. You could ask them about it on their page.
  6. Well it wouldn't be revoicing all the dialogue in the game, only voicing the dragonborn and adding to some NPC's. I'd be willing to commit to the brunt of the work, like I said I just need someone who could handle the Creation Kit side of putting the dialogue in, copy and pasting the script, and someone who could edit the camera for dialogue.
  7. Ok, so we all love Skyrim for its open-world epicness, but some times it feels lacking in dialogue and character development. A lot of Bioware games, e.g. Mass Effect, KOTOR, etc., go into the cinematic camera view when you talk to NPC's and even have other NPC's talk to one another during these scenes. Skyrim seems pretty limited when it comes to this aspect of the game (your character doesn't even have a voice!). Enough complaining, RJ! As a writer and voice actor, I was thinking of overhauling the dialogue/interpersonal relations with NPC's/romance aspects of the game. I'd like to get the game to go into widescreen-cinematic camera view (switching the camera view from NPC to Player when each one was speaking), adding voices for each specific race/gender of the player, adding in dialogue from the player's companions and followers during these scenes, creating more dialogue options for followers and companions that give you insight into their background and develop your relationship with them, and overhauling the romance aspect of the game. Basically this mod would style dialogue in Skyrim to that of a more Bioware influence. I think this would add a lot of personality to the game. I've always thought that it was pretty dumb that you could walk up to a complete stranger while wearing an Amulet of Mara and instantly propose to them, and that you hardly know anything about your followers. The mod could include new animations like handshake, hug, kiss, etc. The more you talk to an NPC or follower, the more you get to know about them and more options would be open to you. Followers should also speak when they have something to contribute to a conversion you are having with an NPC. For example, if you side with the Stormcloaks and decide to attack Whiterun then Lydia should object to your actions and say she is loyal to Balgruf and Whiterun before she is loyal to you, then you have the option to side with her and help Whiterun or fight against her. An example of romance overhaul: you speak to Lydia about her background and past, if you treat her kindly more dialogue options will open leading to a kiss scene, then more dialogue, then proposing marriage. I can handle voice over work (I can get a lot of professional sounding voice actors and myself), I can write scripts for dialogue, and I have professional sound equipment (condenser microphones, digital sound interfaces, audio software, etc.). The problem is that I'm a novice when it comes to using Creation Kit and other modding tools so I would need someone who could actually put my MP3 voice files in game and work on the camera/scene maker aspect of the mod. If we decide to put a few animations in the mod (handshake, hug, kiss, etc.) then we would also need an animator. If you are interested let me know, or if you know any other teams working on something like this could you please put me in touch with them? Thanks for taking a look at my post, and I hope I can get this mod going
