  1. Thank you Keldis! http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/29742/
  2. I have never modded, I have no idea where to even start, nor do i have the time to learn unless i quit playing Skyrim altogether. I am wondering if it is possible to make a mod that makes followers "transparent" i.e. able to walk through them to eliminate the blocking problems one often encounters in close quarters. (As a hunter with several animal companions, it is an exercise in futility taking more than 1 or 2 indoors or underground) Or maybe something to allow you to jump over a smaller follower like an animal (Fox,dog, etc) I can see problems with something like this as far as damage is concerned. Something that makes you able to ignore the fact that they are there but at the same time leaving weapon damage alone. This would have to affect ONLY followers to deal with any unarmed combat, I see the problems with it but i still had to throw it out there. I would think if it were possible, it would have been done long ago for earlier Bethesda games (Fallout). Having no experience in modding it's just my hope that something like this could be done. Also, on a side note, why are there no rainbow mods out there?
  3. Issue fixed by tweaking skyrimpref.ini file. Special thanks to MOTOSXORPIO for the help as i am .ini file illiterate :)
  4. What is with the horrible shadows in Skyrim? They look like a lego set! Is there any mod to fix this? i currently have shadow detail set to ultra and cannot run any AA due to yellow flickering. Please help!
  5. After major issues over the last year or so trying to play FO3 GOTY on a top of the line quad core, win 7 64 bit machine, i have decided the only way to fix this is to buy or build an outdated, older computer to play FO3 on. I have tried every fix in the book, every patch, every .ini fix, every compatibility setting, everything including reverting back to vanilla to no avil. I have gotten maybe 1 hour into the game ever..... I am done trying to fix this on my current machine. If anyone out there has a recommendation on a build that will run it at the highest settings i am all ears. Couple of questions i have. (only one really) Should i stick with a single core CPU? Possibly a socket 775? I am an Intel man, i am not interested in an AMD CPU. I currently have a older Radeon 5450 64 bit graphics card taken out of an older XP machine that i was told ran FO3 back in the day but would rather step it up a notch to the 256 bit, 1GB Radeon 6870 sitting around not being used atm. I plan on win xp, 32 bit OS, 4 GB DDR2 memory, and a 120 GB SSD. I am not a pro computer builder by any means, but do have experience building a few systems in the past for my personal use. (including this i5 machine i currently use for Skyrim. (and it runs flawlessly.) On a final note, i want to be able to run it at the highest possible settings with a single 256 bit graphics card. (Radeon 6870, Currently running a 6950 on the i5) Any recommendations are appreciated. Thank you in advance for your time :)
  6. First of all, i cannot help you other than telling you what the problem is, as i have had nothing but problems and have fixed them by throwing all my Bethesda games in the garbage... #1 problem: windows 7... This game does not support win 7. i have a rather up to date system that is too state of the art to play Bethesda games, (any Bethesda game) #2 Steam, I have gotten corrupt data from Steam before, i have been ripped off by steam before and advise against using steam at all. I have had fallout 3 over a year before it went in the trash and i never got to play it more than 10 min's at a time and nobody will help you. I wish i could.... Good luck
  7. I appreciate the response Gribbleshnibit8. However.... I have tried the fo3edit program and have found it utterly useless as it will not let me *edit* anything, i can look all i want, but cant do anything. My FO3 data files are unchecked as *read only* and as far as i can tell i am doing everything right. i have had nothing but problems with mods for FO3.... New vegas, Skyrim and Oblivion have modded well for me over the years and i generally know what i'm doing. i like to manually install mods for those games and have not had any problems until FO3 (GOTY Retail dvd) This is probably a topic for another thread here. http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/617240-mods-just-dont-work-for-fo3/ Again, thanks for the advice, I'll continue to play vanilla and look into the problem.
  8. Yes. the auto aim AlfredTetzlaff posted with this mod below works almost too well for me :) Vats Long Range http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=16874
  9. If anyone has, or knows where to get a simple red dot in the sniper scope (like the gauss rifle for example) without FOSE i would be so happy :) or a way to get the gauss rifle scope on any scoped gun. (sniper rifle, scoped .44 etc.) I have never modded myself. I looked at Geck for 5 min's before deciding i wanted to play the game instead of taking weeks to figure that out. Something so simple ( i think) yet all i find is complicated reticules that have 20 files to be put here and there and requires FOSE or 10 other mods. Just a simple replacer for the vanilla reticule would be ideal. I like to run as few mods as possible to keep things simple and avoid the issues i have been having. Thanks for looking:)
  10. Thanks for the info. Again, sorry if i seemed mad, i get that way sometimes. I mean well :) Anyway.... I'll look into this, i don't think FO3 was ever updated than, as i never did it myself. After many issues with steam i always buy retail disk's and let them do it's thing. That was the 1st problem with FO3 as i read later that it was NOT supposed to go in the usual program folder. (due to a mod that i cannot remember, I'll have to research this) It now sits in C/games/Fallout 3. New vegas and Skyrim sit in the usual steam location, work fine other than random ctd's on new vegas and are both modded heavily. I have not had (many) problems with either NV or Skyrim but FO3 wont take most mods from nexus either installed with the NMM or manually, I know how it works, i played a modded Oblivion for a couple years and had no problem with the 2 newer titles. I have the GOTY edition from Amazon, just started FO3 last month, (yes,i know,I'm late, But NV just whetted my appetite for a more skyrim open world experence that NV offered) I'm going to try reinstalling it back to Program Files (x86)/Bethesda Softworks and start again from scratch. Again, thanks for this snippet of info and to the few pm's i got :D
  11. I have tried, to no avil to get mods working for FO3, some work for a while than quit and start bugging the game, most never work and crash the game from the start. FOMM will not work, FOSE will not work, nor will anything that needs the FO3.ini, it does not exist on my computer, i have searched. I know where it is supposed to be, but it is not there. (same with FONV and Skyrim, the .ini just does not exist anywhere on any drive, anywhere) I can play FO3 just fine in vanilla but it's become boring and i am going back to something else without the mod feature as i have found it more trouble than it's worth. I refuse to buy dlc from steam or any other service, thus i own original dvd's for all 3 games and that is how they are installed. ( FONV and Skyrim mods work just fine as long as they dont need the SE) Not a rant but just wondering if mods are even supported for FO3 anymore, have i been wasting my time? or am i just a total idiot that needs to go back to wow or something? Sorry if i seem angry or something but FO3 imo is a lot more interesting than either of the others and the only one i really want to play anymore.
