  1. It was a problem with some F4se files I suspect -- not related to the Data folder which uninstalled completely via Steam. They were in the Fallout 4 directory, where the .exe is located.
  2. I seem to be having a similar issue. I reinstalled my game, and unmodded I cannot load an old (unmodded) save or start a new one. Loading screen for 2 seconds and then CTD. I'm trying to figure out if some mod failed to uninstall with the mod manager or the game when I removed it. edit: That seemed to fix it. I simply deleted all of the files in the Fallout 4 directory, where the .exe is located, and then used steam to validate the files. You may or may not be having a separate issue.
  3. Last time I played I had probably around 150 mods installed, and I didn't even have everything I wanted. Starting on a new computer and a fresh install (other than enabling modding and getting the script extender) I just don't know where to start. How do you prioritize what mods you go searching for first? All visual mods first? Or something else? How do you make certain you don't pass over mods accidentally, or come across a mod but forget about it by the time you start adding that type of mod? I wish the "track mod" system was better on the Nexus site. It'd be nice to make lists and categories for mods you want to keep track of and remember.
  4. I just finished fixing almost the same issue, it was a specific texture file (roofmetal03_d.dds) but I'm not sure what mod it was from. So for me, my game didn't crash until those textures were loaded in upon going into a certain part of the map. Here's the methodology I used, in case people experiencing a similar issue wish to replicate it: 1. With the textures removed, I went to the location that caused my game to CTD and saved. That way I could load the game and immediately know. 2. 30 at a time, I put the files back in and started my game. If that batch didn't cause a CTD they would be placed in the "safe" folder. 3. The second batch crashed my game and they were placed in an "unsafe" folder. 4. The third and final batch did not crash my game and were placed into the "safe" folder. 4. I started placing the "unsafe" files in at larger amounts, then smaller and smaller amounts, until I had narrowed down which file had the issue. So if you want to repeat it: 1. For me, this didn't CTD on loading the save, but instead in a specific region of the map. What I did was I removed the "Textures" folder and went to the area that I CTD, and saved my game there so I could load it up and know right away if it's still an issue. 2. Narrow down which folder in "Textures" is causing the issue. No need to do them one at a time at first. 3. Narrow down which files in that folder are causing the issue. Start with large batches of files and narrow them down. Put the "safe" files in a separate folder and don't load them in so they don't get mixed up. I'm still unsure about what causes the issue, though. What's different about this texture that crashes the game? If anyone finds out, please do share.
  5. I just finished fixing almost the same issue, except with a different file. I also have the Eyes of Perfection mod, but that file wasn't the culprit for me. It was roofmetal03_d.dds but I'm not sure what mod it was from. So for me, my game didn't crash until those textures were loaded in upon going into a certain part of the map. I suspect that your issue is exactly the same except that your save was in a location where the texture had to be loaded in upon loading in (either you or an NPC near you had brown eyes). But basically my situation was exactly the same as yours. Including that I discovered it after reading about textures causing crashes on the forums and the way I fixed it. 3. 6. I'm having this issue but your solution didn't work for me. However upon removing specifically the "architecture" folder of the textures folder, it doesn't crash. I'm unsure but it may be that I have too much data in Textures. Or it's a botched file within architecture. I'll test more tomorrow.
  7. Not sure, but mine works fine after simply reinstalling the mod. Beta and all.
  8. Glad to see it's being worked on. Came here to say I'm having the same issue. Showing on the Forums but not mod sites.
  9. For me, I started to CTD today when I hover over, not even select, the Power tab.
  10. Hm.. Well thanks for the respond. I figured it'd be pretty cool to have some tank companion being healed by you, the cleric. What about the other way around? Are there any healer companions?
  11. I just thought of something, you can heal your companions, so would it be a viable playstyle to be a healer, allowing your companion to tank all of the damage done by the enemies?
  12. Some thoughts: you are always going to have trouble in Skyrim with rebellious natives, either through monetary (empire taking silver ect) or religious unrest. So the Empire will always have to station a large army there, that is very expensive. If Skyrim ceded that need is revoked, though the empire might potentially have to station significant forces along skyrims borders these might well be cheaper than an occupying force. Then they'd lose Skyrim to the Thalmore, giving the Thalmore one more conquer. It'd only get them closer to taking all of Tamriel.
  13. By joining the Empire you're doing just that. You're not only uniting Skyrim but all of Tamriel, in the long-run. Because Skyrim is a huge part of the Empire's stability. If you remove the rebels from Skyrim and focus on the Thalmore (with Dovahkiin on your side) the Empire could win. It could work the same with with the Stormcloaks, but then again a divided empire is easy to conquer.
  14. Would not using the modified dll cause the mod to break? EDIT: Seems like it..
  15. When I use cinematic lighting the graphics card Skyrim uses is changed to ENB, instead of my Nvidia. Why does it do this? I get really low fps when I don't use my Nvidia and I don't know how to fix it. I've changed the graphics card Skyrim uses in the Nvidia control panel and all that but it still doesn't give me the option to use it in the options menu. When I remove the mod it recognizes my Nvidia card and works fine. Can someone please help me with this? I love the amazing look of Skyrim with this mod but I can't use it. This is like the 3rd time I've posted about this and no one has given me any useful information. Hopefully someone can help, thanks. ~Ping Will someone please move this to Modding Technical Support? I think that's where it belongs. Thanks.
  16. I honestly find the Steam Workshop setup more user-friendly and nicer to use, besides there being little filter options. Just subscribe and load it up. Unsubscribe to stop using it. Of course using nexus prevents compatibility issues (it asks which files you want to keep). But I won't be using it much, until the 50 mod cap is removed or upped.
  17. Yeah, I have an ASUS I got on newegg for like 700-800 dollars. It's got Windows 7, core i7, nvidia gt540m geforce and etc. It runs Skyrim without any problems, provided the options menu runs it with the right graphics card.
  18. Lol, that would be fantastic. Though I kind of want to see his reaction when you're on the Empire side.
  19. Got an alienware about 2 years ago. It looked great until the number keys broke, the lighting on the keyboard displayed the wrong color and it couldn't run FarmVille. Don't get one.
  20. Steam Workshop has a maximum subscription of 50 mods, meaning barely 1/6 (for me) of the mods used will be from that site. Unless that changes Nexus is still the main site for mods.
  21. Does Ralof react to your joining the Empire later in the game, if you choose to do so? Like would I gain anything from choosing Hadvar? It just seems (from a roleplaying aspect) right that I follow Ralof because of the execution but then once I find out how much of an arse Ulfric is I join the Empire. If you do join the Empire does Ralof do anything or does he just sit in Riverwood forever and act like nothing happened, continuing to call Imperials faithless and etc, even though you are one? Thanks!
