  1. I've not used it and don't know how well this mod works, but it might be something like you're looking for: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=8095 Another mod with a similar idea, but a little different (recharges your weapon on a kill): "Changes the 'Soul Siphon' perk to refill 100% of your weapon's charge on any kill." http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=6519
  2. If you're simply opening up an existing chest and changing the Name, but not the ID, then ALL chests of that type in use in your Skyrim would reflect any changes you made. An easy way I find is to open-up an already existing chest object in the CK (an easy way you might find an already exiting object / item is in the filter type what you're looking for, in this case "Chest", then at the bottom of the navigation tree click on the "All", then it will show all references using "Chest" as part of it's ID. Try to pick one that is a "Container", the icon looks something like an open-drawer), then in the ID field give it a new unique ID, example; "MyFancyBookChest1234" (without the quotes), then save it. It will ask if you want to make a new form (or wording similar to that), then once it's saved, open up the "MyFancyBookChest1234" object, and you can change some properties as you like, in the Name field give a different name if you like, "My Fancy Book Chest", add or remove items from it there, and even attach a script to it if required. You can repeat the process as you like, so make one with an ID of "MyFancyJournalsChest1234", save it, open it, name it as you like, add or remove items as you like, attach a script if required. Of course use your own unique ID and names as you want. Good luck.
  3. I'm still fairly new to making mods for Skyrim and using the Creation Kit, but I'll try to give you an example of how I've adjusted Stats for some NPCs or creatures. Here's a screenshot of the Stats tab of a default "EncFrostbiteSpiderSnowLarge" character: http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee503/lwd1234/Skyrim/SR_pic_01a.jpg I used it as a template for making large-spiders for quest-9 in my "Awnuld the Bold" mod. Here's how the Stats tab looks after I've made the changes I've wanted: http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee503/lwd1234/Skyrim/SR_pic_02a.jpg You can see the default spider is somewhat "weak" in it's stats, but I wanted my spiders to be more of a challenge to the Player than the default. The default spider is set at level 8, and will be level 8 regardless of what level the Player is. I wanted my spider to have a level adjusted more in keeping with the Player's level, so I have checked the "PC Level Mult" box. Then I put in a Minimum and Maximum level that my spider could be. I also have a Level Mult set to 2, so it will be even more of a challenge to the Player (will basically also add a 2x multiplier to it's stats based what level the Player is, but still having a minimum level of 12 regardless). This may seem like it might be "too much" of a challenge, but, in this case, I think by the time a Player reaches level 10+, they will have acquired decent armor, weapons, items, spells, potions, etc.. whereas a spider can't wear armor, can use weapons, doesn't use potions, spells (unless you count it's "bite"), doesn't heal itself... so even though my spider will be fairly challenging to a Player, I think my stats for my spider seems to work well in this case. I gave it a Health and Stamina offset of 150. Stats are generated automatically, and, from what I understand, you'll see the Minimum Level skill values being displayed according to the Minimum-level set, but, it will automatically adjust according to whatever level the Player is if having the PC Level Mult box checked. Also, if basing a newly created character from a default template, in order to changes stats and such, you would need to un-check some of the various check-boxes as seen in the "Template Data" area (seen towards the lower-left corner), otherwise, whatever options you leave checked there will have stats and such based off the default template character and that tab would be "greyed out". So, for example, un-check the "Use Stats" box if wanting to manually adjust some of the stats yourself. Hope something of that helps. Good luck!
  4. I'm still fairly new with making mods for Skyrim and using the Creation Kit, so I could be wrong, but I'm guessing you could probably do that by opening some already existing item, then give it a new ID, save it, and you could then make some changes to that new item's properties. I've been able to make new items this way for some of my quests in my own "Awnuld the Bold" mod. For example, for one quest an item the Player finds is a "Ring of the Lock Master". I used some default ring, changed the ID to something new, gave it a new name that would show to the Player, changed the Enchantment on it (I set it to give a boost to the Player's Lock-Picking skill when worn). As I'm not a graphic-artist, nor do I have the programs or know-how to change the model, so I just kept the model default, but you could also probably change the model for it as well too if you knew how to do that.
  5. Here's a good in-depth Skyrim Tweak Guide: http://www.geforce.com/Optimize/Guides/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-tweak-guide At the bottom of each page click on the "Next" link to continue to the next page of the guide. Of course only make any changes that you feel comfortable doing or think suitable for your computer. Cheers! :) PS: They also have another "ini" tweaking type of guide here if interested: http://www.geforce.com/Optimize/Guides/five-fast-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-tweaks-guaranteed-to-make-your-game-look-even-better
  6. You might like my "Awnuld the Bold" mod: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=11934 "Awnuld" is a voice-acted quest-giver (I did the cheesy voice acting myself). It's a made-for-fun mod with a sense of humor in mind for the Awnuld character, though some of the later quests can be quite challenging. And, you even can pick up "BuBu the Brave" (from Quest 8 ) as a faithful animal-follower. Currently there's 9 Awnuld-Quests with this mod, and if there seems to be enough interest, I may make more. Cheers! :)
  7. Okay, I think if you want a lootable-item to have a chance of randomly being on a just-killed NPC, then you would do that from the "Traits" tab, look towards the bottom and you'll see a field named "Death Item", and a drop-down list to choose from. I believe that a death-item assigned that way already has a random chance of if it will be there or not. Look under the "DeathItem..." choices from the list for a specific type of drop, so for a random on-death item that might be on a bear the Player has killed, choose an item of "DeathItemBear", or alternatively "DeathItemBearCave" or "DeathItemBearSnow" accordingly, and the item generated would be something suitable to a Bear (maybe a bear-hide / claw / etc?). You can still add items to an NPC too from the Inventory tab as well, but I think items added there will be on the NPC regardless either if the NPC is still alive or dead.
  8. You could go to the NPC's Inventory tab, right-click on the inventory list to add a new item, then select an item of your choice from the drop-down-menu button that should become available.
  9. I don't know about your first problem, as for now I've only mainly been experimenting with making quests for Skyrim using the CK. For the second part, if you accidentally mess-up / remove / change something for the main game, you may be able to fix it by following info from the following page: http://www.creationkit.com/View_only_Mod_records
  10. I was curious, so I did some searching, I've not tried these console commands myself, but it might do what you want: removefromallfactions (supposed to remove the Player from all factions) RemoveFromFaction XX (XX being the Faction ID). I found a list of Faction ID's here: http://skyrim.mmo-game.eu/lists-npcs-and-factions/#faction So, according to the Draugr faction list, the ID's are: 000E0CDB : Draugr Ally Faction (DraugrAllyFaction) 0002430D : Draugr Faction (DraugrFaction) 0003D72A : Draugr Faction (DunAnsilvundDraugrFaction) 0003D72F : Draugr Faction (DunAnsilvundSpecialDraugrFaction) 00096E47 : Draugr Faction (dunSkuldafnDragonFaction) So, to remove yourself from the "Draugr Ally Faction", you might enter the console command of: RemoveFromFaction 000E0CDB Anyways, not sure if that will work for you, but it's worth a try I guess. Good luck.
  11. Ahhh, I see. Well, looks like you've got it working now. Cheers! :)
  12. A side tip that can perhaps help lengthen the life of a graphic-card and the computer; Clean the insides of it sometimes (perhaps once every couple of months, up to you though how often). Dust-bunnies and dirt built-up on the cards, fans, vents, etc... over time can cause problems, overheating issues, etc... A can of compressed-air can help with this (be careful not to focus too long with a concentrated-blast of air on just one part though, keep the motion going and use short bursts of air). Keep the computer well-ventilated (ensure nothing is blocking the air vents). A clean and cool computer is a happy computer ;)
  13. First I'd suggest to do a "verify integrity" check to see if you have any missing or corrupted files with your game's installation; Steam > Library > right-click on Skyrim > Properties > Local Files > verify integrity of game cache. Be patient while it does a check, and if it finds any missing or corrupted files it should re-download replacement files for you. If you're still having troubles, then I might suggest to try one-by-one, un-checking mods you may be using to rule-out if it's a mod that is the cause of the problems. If not, then you might consider adjusting some of your game's graphic settings, perhaps try Medium or lower for some settings. Good luck.
  14. Ahhh, I see... then the sometimes shadow-striping effect I see is also probably caused by some light-sources. Thinking back on it, that could be it as usually it was in some dark dungeon area and there were some light-source nearby at the time I noticed this issue.
  15. I have a somewhat similar issue, but, this shadow-striping problem only appears for me in certain areas (like inside some dungeon area), and then it's usually only temporary and will suddenly clear-up. It's like some shadowing or textures suddenly fully load into memory or something, I'm not sure. You might try a mod like this to see if it helps clear it up for you: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=8043 Edit: Just after I made my post, I seen you made a new post that reads: "I just figured out the issue.". So, what was the issue and did you do something to fix it?
