I know this is probably a long shot, but I would love a sorting option in the search (Or even when just browsing mod lists) for mods you've previously downloaded for that game. There are several times when I'll come back to a game a year later and cannot find a specific mod I used to have because I couldn't remember the name of it, or when there are unofficial updates to certain mods and you're not sure which one you had last time. As far as other feedback, it's really just the new search that I don't like. Seeing mods for other games when I'm searching, or irrelevant content when I'm looking for a mod is less helpful, not an improvement.

Game crashes upon startup

everything you've posted confirms that you have this documented bug Assuming that you are correct that this has worked properly for you in a previous install . . . that leaves very long involved detective work to discover the problem something you have changed in your hardware/software between the last time it worked and now has caused this bug to surface This means that the bug is not caused by your selection of mods or the order in which they are installed The bug is caused by your operating environment {or it would have been solved before instead of becoming a "documented bug"} Your system has just become a test-bed to unravel this bug. great..... lol -
Getting DLC and mods working
TwistedSisler replied to Wandik's topic in Fallout 3's Mod Troubleshooting
Does anyone know of a good tutorial or guide for installing all the major mods together and what compatibility patches to get for them? I am running FOOK2, WMK, MMM, PB (HD), and FWE. This guide is great, but I am looking for something a little more updated for the newer versions, much like the in-depth one someone did for Elder Scrolls IV with MMM, OOO, and FCOM. -
Game crashes upon startup

from the notes on Archive Invalidadation Invalidated I'm really not sure that I understand what that means. Doesn't the first statement and the second statement contradict each other, or is the first statement just saying that you can close the program after you activate it? Also, this is the first time this has ever happened to me after many installs and on the same computer. idk, I'm really not ready to give up quite yet. It means, that yeah, you can close the program once activated. And it also means, that on some PC's that won't work and you will never be able to play mods. BUT I don't think that's the case, you have lots of mods. Try (just to test) to enable just one mod and running it. Here are a few things I have found out from troubleshooting. Maybe someone with more experience than me will pick up on one of these issues. - If I run the game with mods enabled and Archive Invalidation on then it crashes - If I disable all mods through FOMM except the vanilla content and leave Archive invalidation on then it crashes. - If I turn off Archive Invalidation (regardless of what mods I have enabled) then it will not crash. (but mods obviously don't work properly) - I have installed this game before many times on this computer with many mods and it has run just fine until now. - The only additions I have made to the mod list is Megaton House Overhaul and FWE, but I have double checked all the craziness as far as installation and making it compatible with FOOK2, MMM, PB, and WMK. I can't seem to find any mistakes on my part, but that doesn't mean there aren't any. - I have discovered some discrepancies in my mod list however. I did not realize that I did not need Fellout anymore because it came with FOOK2, but that should not have anything to do with my problem because I have been running them both just fine. It almost seems like I have a mod in my load order that relies on some resources that have been overwritten by another mod. That is about the only thing I can think of, but I have no way of knowing where the trouble maker is. I have literally disabled every mod one by one and the crash remains as long as Archive Invalidation is enabled. The ONLY other thing I can think of is that when I installed my game this time around, I deactivated and reactivated Archive Invalidation after every large mod and every couple smaller ones. Not sure if that would cause this issue, but again, I'm just shooting at stars here. I really do not want to have to uninstall/reinstall the game yet again, but if anyone thinks that doing so may fix this problem then I will resort to that if need be. Thanks for the help given so far and thank you in advance for anyone else willing to lend a hand with this issue. On a separate note, just to cover all my bases, does anyone know of a good (and updated) tutorial for installing all the major mods together? I run FOOK2, PB (HD), MMM, WMK, and FWE. -

So I believe I solved the problem with my DLC's not working, but now I have another problem. With all my mods installed, the game crashes upon startup whenever I enable Archive Invalidation. If I do not use it then I can play, but obviously things are very wrong and I have missing textures and such. These are the mods I have installed. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the problem might be. DLC's not working on GOTY Edition

I'll try Reinstalling without the Unofficial Patches and see where that gets me. Thanks for the help. I'll let you know one way or another if that worked or not. -
DLC's not working on GOTY Edition
TwistedSisler replied to TwistedSisler's topic in Fallout 3's Mod Troubleshooting
UPDATE - Ok, I just spoke to my brother (he's been playing it too). Apparently there is evidence of the DLC's in the game. The trap door in springvale is there. The lady that wants you to look for her kid in Point Lookout is at the bar in Rivet City, but the boat man is not there. Also, he said that when he goes to the UFO crash site, he gets the signal and the quest, but he doesn't get pulled to the Mothership. So it seems that they are only half-working. I do have quite a few other MODs installed, but the DLC's are first in the load order right under Fallout.esm. I used FOMM and another guide to help me sort the load order. I'm going to go ahead and post my load order here anyway, just in case I overlooked something. I'm not new to modding, but that doesn't mean that I've never made a silly mistake or two, lol. DLC's not working on GOTY Edition
TwistedSisler replied to TwistedSisler's topic in Fallout 3's Mod Troubleshooting
Nope, but a Textfile called "DLCList.txt". There is only one bsa file and one master file for each DLC. Yes, a big difference: do not install FO3 into the default location in the "Program Files" Folder or disable UAC. Good luck I have it installed directly to my C:\ not program files. Also I never use UAC, that feature is total garbage, lol. Just a question, have you ever left the vault 101? those messages show up only after that. Yes (again, probably should have mentioned that). I've gone as far as Megaton and nothing yet. -

Good luck I have it installed directly to my C:\ not program files (that was my bad, I probably should have made that more clear). Also I never use UAC, that feature is total garbage, lol. I'm really at a loss... I've done just about everything I can think of and the DLC's just don't seem to be working. I've never had this problem with any other copy of Fallout. I really feel like I'm overlooking something really stupid because there's no way that these just aren't working for no reason. I'll try a few more things, but if anyone else has any ideas, I would be very very grateful for the help. -
I want to first apologize if the answer to this is in a very obvious place, but I have searched a bit and haven't really found one for my specific problem. I recently bought the GOTY Edition of Fallout 3 and installed both disks to my C:\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3 directory. When I play the game, none of the DLC's seem to be working at all. I don't even get any of the radio signals or the Broken Steel Level Cap message. I looked at my Data folder and all the BSA's and ESM's are in there and activated through FOMM. I even tried to go into the GFWL folder just to see if they were there too, but the xlive folder doesn't exist on my computer (I had show hidden files selected). I also tried to disable GFWL, but it didn't solve the issue. Are there more than just the BSA's and ESM's that should be in my Data folder? I am running Windows Vista 64bit if that makes any difference. Any help or guidance on this issue would be very much appreciated. :)

Request: Medkits to heal broken limbs
TwistedSisler replied to TwistedSisler's topic in Fallout 3's Mod Ideas
lol, ok maybe I don't want the game to be THAT realistic. I mean it is a game, I understand that, but having a medkit would at least simulate some sort of dressing the wounds instead of just sticking yourself with a stimpak and your limbs are healed. I looked at that link and its not quite what I was looking for. I'm just simply looking for an item which its sole purpose is to repair limbs and have that ability taken away from the stimpak. -
Request: Medkits to heal broken limbs
TwistedSisler replied to TwistedSisler's topic in Fallout 3's Mod Ideas
It just doesn't make sense to me to heal a crippled limb with a needle. Something else I was thinking about (not sure how feasible it would be) is to bring back the doctor skill from the classic Fallout games. I'm about to check out that link evilneko sent. I'm not so much concerned with the amount of stimpaks being used as much as I am with the realism in it. My two problems with it are 1. I don't think that one item should do two completely different things. and 2. As I said before, you cant heal a broken limb by injecting yourself with a needle. -
Does anyone else get annoyed when you have to use all of your stimpaks to heal your broken limbs? Just a small request to bring back medkits and use them to heal broken limbs so that stimpaks only give you HP.
