Ok, I'm having problems again. This time I went all the way through Operation Anchorage, did some other quests, and I am at the point where you go to Vault 112 to find your dad. I don't know what the problem is, but every time I get within the vicinity of Evergreen Mills my game crashes when I try to save, and continues to do so from that point on. I haven't added any new mods since it was working, so I have no idea what the problem is. Does being in the area of Evergreen Mills cause save corruption or something? -

I started a new game, and so far so good. I'm doing Operation Anchorage right now, and there have only been a few crashes. -

I only have a single core processor, and those other fixes didn't work. The game crashes when I try to save it normally too. The only one I didn't try is creating a merged patch, because I have no idea what that is. -
I just got back into playing FO3, and I got some mods as well. The problem is that the game is crashing CONSTANTLY, to the point where I am spending as much time starting up the game as playing it. The most frequent crashes happen when I am attempting to quicksave. Also, the game crashes when I enter Craterside Supply or my Megaton house (so far). I have all the DLC's, the game is patched to 1.7, and I am using FOMM with Archive Invalidation and FOSE. I have tried to isolate what mods I have active to see if any specific mod is the problem, but none of them are causing the problems specifically. Any help would be much appreciated! I think that it's preferable to at least give the appearence of a populated city. All of the cities are really small, and if you really want every building to be populated, just program a bunch of buildings, give them a generic interior, and make the inhabitant npc's called "citizen" and have a dialog rotation just like the guards(without the arrow in the knee of course)

I did, those at the docks and stables were generally indifferent. I completed 2 playthroughs of the civil war quest, one stormcloak and one imperial. I talked to almost all of the NPC's before and after (not all of them, I didn't go scouring the ratway to find a non-hostile beggar to talk to) , and I didn't count the guards, since they are sworn to obey the Jarl, and will take the Jarl's side no matter what. I basically talked to the NPC's, and if they didn't have an in-depth dialog I looked at either their actions or I cycled through their responses until I got something that at least hinted at who they supported. For example, in Dawnstar, the original Jarl is pro-stormcloak, but on the other hand you have the former legionnaire and that lady who later becomes Jarl. The boss of one of the mines is stormcloak, the other is imperial, and I believe one of the shopkeepers is imperial, and the rest are indifferent, hence the small margin of superior imperial support. As for total support across the entire province i estimated. I'm not going to calculate every non-hostile npc and calculate it out, i just don't have the time, let alone the interest, to do so. I classified indifferent as either not having a definite support for either side or not even mentioning the war, seeing as how if they actually cared they would at least mention the war. Let me start off by saying that the Silver-Bloods don't believe in anything but money and power. They just want to seize as many opportunities as possible to gain as much power as possible. I can just imagine Thonar playing sycophant to Galmar as victorious Stormcloaks enter the city, all to become Jarl. Therefore, I counted the Silver-Bloods as indifferent. The number is compiled from the rest of the citizens, almost all of whom voice support for the empire except a few, including that guy in understone keep who is angry about the hall of the dead situation I really don't think this is the case. Bethesda is almost religious about inhabiting every single one of the buildings in cities with an NPC. They did it in the Fallout series, and they did it here as well. Personally, I would be thrilled if they enlarged the cities with a couple hundred buildings and the villages with a dozen buildings just to give the APPEARENCE of a populated settlement. They could just mark the doors "inaccessible" and not even program an interior, just at least make it looke like someone lives there. I mean, for the central trading hub of the entire province Whiterun is a little underwhelming with a total NPC population of im guessing 40, maybe 50(not including guards). When the bandits outnumber the civilian population, you know you have a problem.

I would say more like 70-75% are in favor of the empire. Solitude's inhabitants are almost 100% for the empire, some are indifferent(no clear stormcloak supporters, hence Ulfric leaving Elisif on the throne if he takes over) Morthal's inhabitants are indifferent. Markarth's inhabitants (not counting forsworn) are about 80% for the empire, 10% indifferent and 10% stormcloak Whiterun is about 60-30 in favor of the empire with 10% being indifferent Falkreath is 80% indifferent, with 10% empire and 10% stormcloak Riften is 70% indifferent, with 15% both pro and anti empire Dawnstar is around 40% for, 30% against, and 30% indifferent Winterhold is indifferent Windhelm is actually about 50% stormcloak and 40% empire, with the Dunmer strongly supporting the empire along with some Nords, along with the 10% indifference

The Thalmor captured the southern coast, and their main force was in Hammerfell. Emporer Mede withdrew the Legion that was fighting the Thalmor so that they could assist in retaking the Imperial City. The commander of said legion left a large force of his veteran legionnaries behind to lead the Redguards in their fight against the Thalmor. The Legionnaries left over (about 10% of that legion) fought so well that the Thalmor believed that the whole Legion was still in Hammerfell, and they kept about half of their army there while the other half was destroyed by Emperor Mede. The Legionnaries that stayed behind even helped the Redguards after the war to force the Thalmor into signing a treaty. The Empire never abandoned Hammerfell, they just did so "officially." Mede is smarter than he seems. As for all this vaunted Redguard hostility towards the Empire, I have yet to experience any after putting many hours into the game in two separate playthroughs. All the redguards I've encountered (that weren't hostile) are friendly towards the empire at best and indifferent at worst. The Alik'r never talk about the Empire abandoning them, and they're the ones with the most right to complain. Regardless of if there is bad blood between the Empire and Hammerfell, reuniting them into the Empire is a vastly better option than letting the Empire disintegrate into disunified kingdoms that will inevitably fall one by one to the Thalmor. I used to think the Stormcloaks were a better choice, but then I took a common to the sense.

You just contradicted yourself. you said that he wasn't power-hungry, yet one of the few things that matters to him is being High King. Regardless, just listen to his conversation with Galmar after you take Solitude. Case in point. It's also another kingdom that will fight alone. "Divide and conquer" holds true in this instance. I have said this many times, and I will say it again: the Thalmor CANNOT BE STOPPED by disunified, individual kingdoms. It takes an empire to topple an empire, whether it be an empire imploding on itself or one conquering another. Say Skyrim breaks off, the empire disintegrates, and the Thalmor invade Cyrodill. Cyrodill will stand alone, and it will fall. Next, let's say they attack Skyrim. Skyrim will stand alone, and it will fall. And so on with High Rock, Hammerfell, Black Marsh, and Morrowind. The Thalmor need not only use military conquest, they could just as easily implement puppet governments as they did in Valenwood and Elysweyr. Ulfric and the Stormcloaks care for nobody but the Nords, and will come to nobody else's aid. Nobody will come to Skyrim's aid because of how they treat other kingdoms and their subjects. One by one, the kingdoms will fall. Their only hope is to join together and build up enough strength to take the fight to the Thalmor. While that may be true, they certainly refer to the resistance still being alive as present tense, indicating that there is at least some Thalmor presence, probably more along the lines of spies and Thalmor puppets in government than actual soldiers at this point.

Not really, if you ask people about Ulfric almost all but his most loyal supporters will talk about his selfishness, how he's conceited, power-hungry, etc. 1 example is the Stormcloak replacement jarl for Falkreath. The Dark Brotherhood questline affords the player the opprotunity to eliminate the Emperor and the would-be successor in one fell swoop, opening the door for a new era of leadership. Even if you don't kill the Emporer, your actions alone would probably give you enough popular support to take over. All it takes to change the course of history is the will of a single man. Surely you realize that the Argonians and the Redguards realize that if the Empire disintegrates, the Thalmor will be able to pick off the individual kingdoms one by one, as they already did in Eleswyr and Valenwood. Also, I'm not so sure what the situation is in Hammerfell. The Redguards definitely pushed the Thalmor out after the great war, but the Alik'r refer to cities that recently fell due to a certain traitor(im not going to spoil it, it's a quest), and they say that the resistance in Hammerfell is still very much alive, implying that there may be some reason for people to believe that it isn't. Maybe the Thalmor invaded again? I'm not sure, but there seem to be hints at that.

I don't want this to become a political thing, but the Jews own Israel. It's been theirs since thousands of years Before Christ. The Palestinians are an invented people that exist just to breed hatred for the Jews. Back to Skyrim: How exactly do they plan on doing that? Skyrim isn't very well populated, It's cities are small, it has poor crop yield, it's filled to the brim with bandits and other baddies, and look around! The place is falling apart! The roads are crap, the walls and forts are falling apart, and most of Winterhold fell off a cliff! It would take all of the Stormcloaks years just to fight off the assorted brigands, and even then their homeland is in no condition to support a war with the Thalmor, either in Skyrim or in Thalmor territory. That being said, can everyone drop the "racism" thing? It's getting annoying. First off, it's not racist if they're a different species, which the Dunmer, Altmer, Bosmer, Khajit, Orcs, and Argonians clearly are. Second, accusing the Stormcloaks of being racist is old. Everyone who's not in denial realizes that fact already, so there's no need to keep repeating it.

My point was they fought them to a stalemate and, seeing they could not defeat the Thalmor in their current state, adopted a temporary appeasement strategy, similar to the British in World War II, so they can build up their strength and destroy the Thalmor. Ulfric is just delaying the Empire's efforts while the Thalmor get stronger because he refuses to see in the long term, a disunited Tamriel will fall to the Thalmor. I meant the player. You are the Dragonborn in-game. The last Dragonborn (not just bloodline, but actual Dragonborn) FOUNDED the Empire. It's not a stretch to assume that the next one (you) can save it. Honestly, both of my characters could probably take on a Thalmor army all by their lonesome. Disunity brings only weakness. The Redguards are still engaged in a bloody war against the Thalmor, the Black Marsh and Morrowind are in anarchy with numerous warlords vying for control, the only hope for the non-Dominion nations is to unite and drive back the Thalmor. I also just wanted to point out that the Imperial Army is ridiculously underrepresented in Skyrim. You rarely see soldiers in heavy Imperial armor, you NEVER see Imperial Orc Berserkers, and I've only seen ONE Imperial Battlemage (During Alduin's scripted attack on Helgen at the very beginning)

Did you miss the part where the Empire annihilated the entire Thalmor army and hung their general from the White-Gold Tower? That just opens a door for the next Dragonborn Emperor to restore the Empire to it's former glory. You also have the option of destroying the Dark Brotherhood instead. Face it, the Nords alone (in their crappy light Stormcloak Armor) cannot defeat the Thalmor in such a way that they will be destroyed. They may be able to hold them out of Skyrim for a while, but what happens when they take Black Marsh, Morrowind, Cyrodill, Hammerfell, and High Rock? How will Skyrim stand then? The Thalmor want the Empire to break apart so that they're more vulnerable.

SPOILER ALERT!!!! Ulfric is a Thalmor agent. You find a dossier in the Thalmor embassy in the main quest "diplomatic immunity." Aside from that, the Empire is simply rebuilding it's strength so it can fight off the Thalmor, similar to what the British did in WWII. I actually read an in-game book on the 30 years war and the only reason the Empire lost was because they were woefully unprepared since infighting constituted the majority of Titus Mede I's reign and his son, Titus Mede II, is the current emperor. Honestly, Ulfric is a fool. If the Orcs, Redguards, Imperials, Nords, Dunmer, and Bretons couldn't stand against the Thalmor(Aldmeri Dominion), then how could the Nords alone? The best hope for the rest of the world is to stick with the Empire, rebuild, and drive the Thalmor out of Tamriel. I only saw a bit of this discussion, but I saw some factual errors in one of the posts on the first page, I don't know if these have been addressed already, but here they are: 1. Talos was not Ysgramor. Ysgramor was one of the first to settle Tamriel, while Talos(Tiber Septim) came along much later and founded the Empire. 2. The 30 years war was not a rout, both sides fought to a stalemate and the only reason the Empire was on the losing side of the treaty was because they had fewer soldiers for a war of attrition.
