So my idea is kind of simple to implement imo, though I don't know how possible yet with the current tools. I was thinking a sort of more minimalistic mesh replacement / optional for the guard towers, like a 1x1 square floor piece, a small mat or even a marker item (oil lamp/ammo box on the floor). Would make roof and wall defense building more realistic and interesting. :smile: Same functionality with the originals otherwise; just assign a settler and they stand on the marker and maybe patrol between several.

Might be some goof up with CK and follower inventories that keep respawning in the same vein as the ever present hunting bow. Maybe it's helpful for someone else. -

bump Playinf with EFF now, reinstalled or disabled some stuff that I thought could've been the culprit, redid the batched patch and it still happens. I can take all the 320 torches out of his inventory and drop then on the ground as one single torch even when picked up again. So it's easy to get around but kind of tiring to clean up my follower's inventory every 10-20 minutes... It kinda seems to be happening less frequently now though but not sure if that's just wishful thinking. -
Hi, I posted about this problem yesterday in AFT mod page as follows: So today I uninstalled Amazing Follower Tweaks and tried Extensible Follower Framework instead. After a little while, the torches (all glorious 320) were back in his inventory. I had taken them all away and gave him a lantern to carry instead, hoping that without him having any torches they wouldn't multiply... no such luck. So no matter if he has a one torch, a lantern or an empty inventory all together, after a while he will spawn these three hundred and twenty torches out of his butt and I'm pretty well done with it. Not sure anymore what could cause it. Anyone ever experienced something like this and/or knows a fix? My game runs very well otherwise and has been unbelievably stable because I've finally learned to take good care of my mod list and saves... and then something like this turns up and leaves me baffled.

I can't do much besides basic recoloring and NifSkope edits so I'll throw this out here if anyone would like to try their hand with this. So, with my current character I like to ride my horse bareback as it suits their hunter/barbarian style, but sometimes I wish my horse hand some sort or bridle/halter or even just a rope on their neck to hold on to. Something simple. Maybe an option with some sort of pelt for "saddle" too? There's some fancy and less fancy rope halters here for example and some bridleless options here.

bump Still having the same problem. Tried changing over to NMM but still crashing. Maybe it could be animation related? Any ideas? EDIT / Doing a clean install rn.

Tried LOOT, still crashes. Tried the alphabetical order too and it crashed this time, so I guess it was just some kind of dumb luck the last time. Still doesn't work with the load order I posted earlier.

Ok, progress! I'm using Mod Organizer so I made a completely new profile just to test out the vanilla Skyrim + dlcs + unofficial patches, and the game started without ctd. Is it possible for a texture or a animation (= not an esp or esm) etc. conflict so badly with the unofficial patches? I'll just have to start completely over with a new profile then and see if that works out when I put back the mods. EDIT / Did some more detective work and it indeed seems like there's something wrong with the mod order. I added exactly same mods and tried to start the game (while the mods were in alphabetical order aside from esm-files) and it didn't crash. Ran BOSS, instant crash again. Does anyone see anything obviously wrong with my load order because I can't see it... I've trusted BOSS to do all the sorting until now.

Here's my load order atm: Everything should be in the right order and everything is clean. Tried the old ini files, tried completely new launcher generated ones and even tried without. I've verified the file integrity twice within the day already and it seems to have no effect outside the fact that I have to clean the files afterwards. I'm completely baffled.

Thank you for the detailed response! Will try and report back. My uGrids has always been at 5 so that's probably out of question but will look into it if all else fails. EDIT / Cleaned everything with TES5Edit, sorted my unrecognized mods with BUM, ran BOSS, ran TES5Edit (no masters missing), ran ReProccer and made a bashed patch. uGrids is 5 in both the old and new ini-files plus I have StableuGridsToLoad. Game crashes at main menu without warning. Tried to start game with Skyrim.esm, Update.esm + dlcs, textures, animations (everything without and esp or esm) and did not crash. In addition, I activated the unofficial patches and CRASH. The mod pages state that they don't cause ctds but I just.. don't understand what could be conflicting with them. Also tried activating everything BUT the unofficial patches and everything dependant on them (some patches and Better Quest Objectives etc) and I did not crash.

Ok, I've been pulling my hair out one at a time the whole day trying to figure this one out so please help me to figure out the culprit for my sudden CTDs, ok? I had a new character that I played to about lvl 10. Started having memory related crashes so I downloaded the SSME memory patches again, this time making sure I was doing it the right way and finally settling on with the SKSE 1.7 alpha. Okay, all good, but I still had some random crashed here and there and some fps drops so I fiddled around with my enb settings and changed my ini settings to the EWIs High SkyrimPrefs and Inis...... after all this, I couldn't load my save anymore. I reverted back to my old ini-files that I had saved but no luck, no save load, and at some point it started crashing at the imperial logo screen right before the menu text appears. Tried running BOSS about a dozen times, tried cleaning mods with TES5Edit, updating mods, downloading all the tiniest compatibility patches that I could think of... I'm done trying to save the save file but this still happens with "new" load order and a new game! The game actually starts without the unofficial patches activated but I'd really like to have those and I don't think they are the reason for my crashes per se... So, uh, any ideas where to go next? I mean, there's nothing so out of order from my usual set up that it'd be obvious to me. I'm completely lost. Here's my BOSS log: I tried also cleaning the Update.esm, Dragonborn.esm, Dawnguard.esm etc but with no difference in results.. This is after I ran 'verify game cache' on Steam and it restored those back how they were.

Tried the game without Paarthurnax mod and Achieve This - I almost got to ran back to the palace door this time before the game once again crashed, but I doubt it's related. So nope, not either of those. But thank you for your suggestions! And yeah, probably the next thing I'm going to try is to go back in saves but I also tend to overwrite the older ones a lot to save space so /fingers crossed/ hopefully I still have a save that isn't either dreadfully far back or just... nonexistant and thus unhelpful. Haven't done the Civil War quests at all yet either so that's an option too as you said, at least to get to do something. Would be shame if this damn thing didn't work afterwards even then though. :( So. If anyone has suggestions or help it'd be great and really appreciated! -

Recently I've mostly uninstalled mod to be updated, but I did get rid of Isilmeriel LOTR Weapons, Lantar Dale and Amber Guard because I didn't need them anymore, but that was only after I noticed the CTD problem. Biggest changes I've done recently had to to with updating RLO and installing Climates of Tamriel to go with it. Nothing else that I can think of... -
Hi. So I finally started doing the Skyrim main quest a few days ago after doing loads of other questlines (College of Winterhold, Thieve's Guild, Dawnguard, Dragonborn). I'm currently lvl 53. Never had any problems of this sort before, and never any game-breaking problems with mods either. The problem I'm having is a crash to desktop after I reach a certain point in the quest Season Unending. I have talked to Arngeir and General Tullius, but after I talk to Ulfric Stormcloak and the quest updates with "Talk to Arngeir" again, it crashes without warning and without exception. Sometimes it crashes instantly, sometimes it takes a couple of seconds, but I can't advance past this in any way (read: tried console commands too). I installed some new mods recently but they seem not to be the culprit as I tried talking to Ulfric with them unactivated. Also tried lowering the graphic settings, doing TES5Edit clean-up, going back to a earlier save and starting the quest from scratch, etc. Nothing has worked so far and I'm slowly losing my patience. I can do other things and quest just ok, it's just this particular point in this particular quest that causes the sure CTD. Any idea what might cause something like this and where to start looking for solution? I'm getting out of ideas. Thank you in advance.
