  1. Its great to see the effort and the incredible work you do, both the staff members and mod authors. Happy to see this community gets bigger and better by the day.

And just to celebrate the news, I´ll be increasing my monthly patreon subscription right now, because we all deserve such an incredible quality website and such a creative and helpful community and a donation, no matter how big it is, is the way for a lot of us for helping things continue being as great as they are.

Happy gaming and modding to all!

  2.

So I just bought skyrim a week ago after it was on sale on steam for like very cheap. I've waiting for this sale for a long time and now I got it. I like the mod community and stuff and would like if anyone of you would help me out a bit. I just learned how to use NMM (nexus mod manager) so I should basically know how to download the mod.

Basically I want to improve the gameplay and quality of the game with mods, but I don't know which one I should use.

If there is anyone out there to willing to help me and choose which mods is recommended for someone new into the game.

I would you to post the link and the name of the mod that is recommended for me to add.

I have played the game about 20-30hrs now and I get really bored of the texture and water.

If you would like to help me please sir/ma'am link the mod down below with the name of the mod thanks.

Well, that's only MY list of mods you should have, take only what you wanna pick.

    Must-Have :

SKSE(needed to run a lot of mods)

SkyUI(saves you a lot of troubles from the weird vanilla UI)

Unofficial Patches(almost essential, fixes almost all vanilla bugs) : Skyrim, Dawnguard, Heartfire, Dragonborn

    Enhanced blood textures(really cool, and....BLOOD!)

Realistic ragdolls and force(good to prevent weird death, i even heard of a mod that removes the spinning dance)

Dance of Death(more killmoves and a lot of config for kill moves)

Civil war overhaul(if you think the civil war sucks, you'll love that)

    Requiem(really good immersive overhaul)

Sands of time(a really good way to spice up with the randomness card!)

Live another life alternate start(really cool way to start the game without having to go trough the whole intro)

Helgen Reborn(Ever wanted to rebuild this town? )

Death alternative(gives more depths to the death instead of having to reload each time you die)

Legacy of the DragonBorn(My beloved mod! Can't play without it, it will fill your completionist's instincts) A lot of other mods and supported by this mod and they're good aswell, so i do not show them here(because they're in the page).

Elemental dragons(a fun way to add more diversity to dragon encounters, be carefull, they are not weaklings)

AND A LOT OF OTHER WONDERFULL MODS I MAY HAVE FORGOT/JUST DON'T KNOW!

All these are known to be fully compatible(i play actually with all these, and more).

If you have any issues, feel free to ask/pm whatever you want.

I wouldn´t personally recommend Requiem for a complete beginner, because it changes lots of things. I agree with the rest more or less.

SKSE and SkyUI are a must to have, they are the first step to mod your game.

Also if you´re to try Live another life and Helgen reborn, make sure you first install live another life, go to helgen and start the main quest and then install Helgen reborn I think it crashes the game otherwise.

You mentioned water and textures, I´ll recommend all water mods that I ever used and a couple of graphics mods I personally use:

    Pure Waters

    Pure Waters - Waterfalls

    Realistic Water Two

    Amidianborn Book of Silence

    ELFX Enhanced lights and effects

    Skyrim HD

But the concept of letting mod authors charge for their mods would be a downfall for the modding community.

However, Skyrim is a game with immense potential, imagine the extreme profits they could make by focusing a small team on creating DLCs for the game again. Personally, I have always thought that they should have just dropped ESO and instead focused on expanding Skyrim even more.
TES V is a game that could live forever. Like really, I have dedicated well over 700 hours to the game and I still play it...

Let's just hope it won't be streamlined further

MikkHep wrote: I am fully aware of that. But the money Zenimax spend on making ESO is the same money used for Bethesda's games. When they made ESO they used money that could have been used instead on furthering advancing Skyrim (just my opinion).

Yeah it could be casualized. But compared with older titles, the modding tools are more powerfull, it has more mods than any other game over the internet.

Think about it, if next TES games will be more casualized, well It not be that bad if that helps Bethesda making more money to release better SDK and tools for the community.

Don´t get me wrong I also hate that change, and I myself introduced the series with skyrim!!
However I´m currently playing morrowind, and its greaat, the immersion, the old school RPG feel and the atmosfere.
  4. I´m totally sure it is a texture problem, ELFX only changes lighting in game.

Maybe a conflict between some textures? Does anyone know where is the vanilla cobweb texture in data folder?

I´ll try to restore the vanilla cobweb texture, that seems the most reasonable solution.

  5. Hi guys,

as the title says I´m having an odd bug concerning the spider webs. All cobwebs in game are just invisible for me. I just wanted to know if someone else had this issue.

Of course I have lots of mods installed, I´m figuring out which one could be causing the bug. I think about SMIM, HD DLC + optimizers, even ELFX.

It isn´t a big issue, but aesthetically ruins many things and also when I run into some invisible wall until I remember the problem and slash the cobweb with my mace . The animation when you broke the cobweb works properly. I thinks the texture is missing.

I beg someone can help me with this little issue.

  6. Hi guys, I´m also having the same problem I think.

I actually have Seasons of Skyrim ENB installed. However Im using a desktop PC not a laptop. I have an ASUS GTX 760 without any HD textures mod installed,

however with the ENB enabled I´m getting 15 - 30 FPS outside, but, and this is the misterious thing, the games runs at 50 - 60 FPS inside interiors & dungeons.

I also tried RealLike ENB which is suppossed to run smoothly, but I get the same FPS rates.

I´m using Enhanced Lights & FX mod for lighting, SSAO, SSIL and Depth of Field are disabled on ENB.

I´m getting mad with this problem because IMHO my GPU should run the game at higher FPS. It runs at 60 FPS in ultra without any ENB, so I hope together we can find a solution for this.

  7. I´m glad to see how much people supports this site, yes Nexus Sites offer a great service to both modders & users.

I´ve been using NMM for Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim and it is a great tool. Now I think people should give more support instead of complaining about the software.

I´m offering my skills to the developer team, had already contacted Dark0ne, but I´m writting here to meet other people who want to join the development.

I have VisualBasic.net, asp.net and visualBasic knowledge, don´t know much about C#, but I think i would handle that with some documentation.

Also I have some Visual Studio student licenses, which I´ll be glad to share If this could help the team. I think I have Visual Studio 2005, 2010, 2013 both 32/64 bit version and several editions: standard, professional and ultimate. YEAH! That is a huge amount of licenses, and I´m not going to use all of them anyway.

  8. I will say 'Lord Of The Rings' or 'A Song Of Ice And Fire', i love both sagas. LOTR has more mithical and divine stuff, but ASOIAF is the most deeply described world ever. George Martin´s characters are so complex, more than other charactes from books. Maybe even Star Wars saga, as far as i know, there are several books, spinoffs, comics and other stuff related to Star Wars universe.
