  1. I've tried this to limited success. The first time it worked fine but then when I went back to edit it and add new mods I was having problems with the file making itself read-only and reverting to the previous file with no mods, also I would activate the mods, and need to edit the plugins.txt file, which deactivated the mods in NMM, and when I activated them the file only showed the Fallout4 and two dlc .esm's.
  2. Last night (Wednesday) I was playing Fallout 4 with mods installed and had no problems, logged out to go to bed and came on earlier today and the game would not load any mods. Saw the problem was caused by the latest update and read the instructions to fix the problem (adding a asterisk * before the name of each of the mods in the plugins.txt file) and it worked fine. Only thing I had to do was unprotect the file to allow me to save it. I logged out for a while, just came back online and installed another mod which allows me to scrap stuff and means I won't need the two mods I am using (scrap everything and spring clean. Followed the same process, deactivated the two mods, activated the new mod and started the game but when i click to load my game the game crashes to my desktop. Figuring it was the mod I deactivated it and tried to load the game again and once again it crashed as I tried to load. Just wondered what people think is it the mods, the plugins.txt file or the game save as have a nasty suspicion I have once again lost game progress (or more importantly time spent building) due to an update either stopping mods from working or corrupting my safe.
  3. Since the update (Update 1.3) I have had nothing but problems, game crashing, game freezing, etc, which has when I have asked on a certain platform used for playing video games, been blamed on mods. Truth of the matter is if the mods don't work it's more than likely my fault for installing them wrong, or installing mods that clash, when the game crashes and burns like this, with mods and with no mods installed anymore, that is entirely on Bethesda and whatever they have done to undo the good work of this mod by making it screw everything else up. I have had a couple of problems with mods and either the mod creator has helped me or I've realised how I have messed up and fixed the problem, as certain as I can be any problems I am experiencing isn't their fault but the fault of the patch.
  4. I'll be 40 in the Summer but always nice to see there are people older than me here, after all, why should these youngsters have all the fun

    Old Newbie

Hi I'm Jim and I'm 39 and from The Wirral (near Liverpool) in England. I'm currently unemployed and (contrary to what the British press would have you believe) looking for a job, so filling in the spare time I have travelling through Skyrim, dying a lot and cursing Lydia (it's part of a Housecarl's job to be verbally abused by his/her Thane, I checked the contract  ) originally on the PS3, and now on the PC.
