So, now that the game is out and has become the new internet punch bag (and quite rightfully to some extent) for the 'misconceptions' and 'lies' that Sean Murray spewed confidently, despite having a tiny game studio; I feel that all is not lost for this game. I believe that it is possible to create the so called 'Murray Mod', a mod that adds bit by bit to the game to turn it into what we were sold on. I hope it doesn't take much longer for somebody smart to decompile the pesky MBINs and to give us a great tool to edit the game's inner workings. We will most probably never have multiplayer, but there are many other things we can add. I have very little modding experience, but I hope that maybe someone else can help to achieve the following: Missing stuff that would be cool: Huge Space Battles: Epic space battles between different races/factionsFactions: The ability to join different factions or pirates in the game where you fight and explore together. The could give you mini 'quests' like gathering resources or protecting trade ships, etc.Large Ground Bases: These could be controlled by Factions which could lead to interesting battles fought on planet surfacesBetter NPCs: In one of the game trailers, NPC ships are showed landing on planets, not just trading platforms. It would be cool if they could also get out, explore and mine the surface of planets.Better Sentinels: Bigger variety of sentinels in the game like in the trailers and concept art.Sand Planets: Again, like in the trailers.Improvements: The Ability to fly lower: done hereNo Instagram filter: done hereLess artifacting caused by LOD and normal Map loading and rendering when getting close to surface in ship. Stackable items in Inventory: Suggested hereSpace combat less terrible: Change the current System to be like in flight games where you get the little circle to aim at in front of enemysMake NPCs talk faster: God, it takes years for the prompts to appear.If you have any suggestions, please tell me!
