Got mad at my friend poking me on my modding skills and turned all of the mods off... ...It worked. Edit: I'll gradually go through and reactivate each mod, and see which one was causing the game to throw a fit when I went into that area. HotD wasn't the cause, it appears. It must have been whatever added that cave because it's gone now (re-added HotD and the cave is still missing) -

I shall make a new character for testing purposes and send them out to the inn to see if it was anything to do with my character (doubtful since it was almost fresh, I had only been playing for about an hour). I'll keep testing but this is growing tiring, load, crash, load, walk a few steps, crash. If the recreated character (without the bashed patch/HotD/MOO running) doesn't work I'll comment on Maskar's mod to see if it can be fixed in any way. Bummer, I wasn't expecting quest mods to break the game lol. -

On a slightly related note to this, Wyre Bash is being a pain in the ass and keeps reactivating Heart of the Dead when I rebuild the Bash Patch. Bloody thing. Managed to get it to bugger off after a while. -

Same break, crashes when entering the area near the inn. This time it was near the cave along the road. I had to make a small detour to avoid a bit of a battle between a bandit, a harpy (modded creature that kicked my ass once before) and a mountain lion, but still shows that no matter which way I enter, the crash occurs. Not sure if it's an NPC, or what, because I was able to find the two you mentioned (and I have not started the main quest yet). -

Already got it, trying to get to Brina Cross Inn. No matter which way I go to the inn (from Kvatch/Skingrad side or Anvil side) it just crashes. I do have a feeling it is the cell. I even tried reinstalling, but to no avail. -

I have encountered both the guard and the courier, as well as a highwayman that almost crushed my squishy mage. (Found some light armour on them afterwards to go towards my class so worth it). It's only after these that I encounter this crash. I will reload and try it once I have finished the Bashed Patch. Update: Bashed Patch didn't work, but I at least got closer to the inn this time around by going the other way. As a bonus, the game is now lagging (Seems to have corrected itself) and the Steam Overlay is running at a snail's pace. The crash happens a few seconds after the "Loading Area..." message appears. Here is the updated modlist. -

Yes, that little issue is fixed, however, the case of the crashing is still occurring. I'm trying to figure out the cause. It's always when running along the road between Anvil ans Kvatch/Skingrad, right before I go over the hill towards the Brina Cross Inn. -

I recently wiped Oblivion in order to remod it from the ground up, as my game wasn't exactly the most stable. I have since remodded it and have just started a playthrough, but I already have encountered issues. When approaching the Brina Cross Inn, my game immediately crashes. I thought this was just a regular CTD and reloaded my game, but it happened again at that exact point. For the sake of confirmation I tried it again twice. Yep, crash. This is an interesting issue, I can't seem to find the issue that's causing it unfortunately., Most of my mods are from MGSO or the Code Patch and the rest are either quest/faction mods, compatability patches and one race mod. If anyone can help me figure this out it would be much appreciated. If there are any load order errors, please let me know so I can manually fix them. And what do I do if tes3cmd only flashes up for a brief second, fills in with some text then closes again? Edit: After redoing the distant land generation, the game now loads, however, many of the graphical mods do not appear to want to work. Have you guys got any idea what happened? The game is also a lot less smooth than what it was before. Edit 2: I disabled all of my mods, yet the lag issue is still occurring.

Solved the issue. Qaze's Questorium was the pissant causing the crashing on the main menu. Never really intended to use it, but now that I know it was it causing the errors for the most part. I'll reinstall the poor ENBs that I blamed this on and start a new character to prevent the game getting pissy at me and get back if the game crashing still persists. Odd, it was one of the first mods I installed and ran relatively well until the ENB debacle. -

All of my mods shown by Wyre Bash are green. Still crashes on the main menu. May as well deactivate mods until I find the offender. -

Will do, I have been using LOOT, but not the other two. Edit; None of my mods are red. Seven have an orange tickbox (Qaze Questorium, Dreamborne Islands, Apocalypse - Ordinator Compatability Patch, Dragons Diversified Dragonborn Patch, RDO UFO, Vivid Weathers and Natural Lighting Vivid Atmospherics.). Does that mean that they need to be moved? Edit 2: TES5Edit keeps encountering errors while trying to load the modules. I was able to sort a number of them, but now the game just crashes at the main menu. -

That resulted in almost an instant crash. I had backed up the original .ini files and replaced them back into the My Games/Skyrim folder, but that caused crashing on the loading screen so I deleted them and recreated them by booting the game up. This worked for all of 30 seconds and it crashed again. Any help?

Do you mind posting your mod list? If it worked for vanilla then began doing it with the mods it may likely be the mods. Even if I can't help you if you post the mod load order somebody else can. -
After doing this, the brightness has indeed been fixed, though the view distance has not. Is there a mod that increases the draw distance and fixes the flickering without conflicting with the mods now?

Well, mod issues are usual for me, but I can generally fix things without much help, but this one boggles me. I believed Frostfall to be the culprit as this only popped up when it was installed, but only one of the three issues seemed to have disappeared when I uninstalled it, being the blocky blue snowflake textures. The view distance is still broken, with me being able to see further than I should (with flickering mountain textures), and the brightness is too.
