  1. I had the exact same problem after reinstalling Skyrim. My issue was caused by modifying the INI file from the guide over at http://www.geforce.com/Optimize/Guides/five-fast-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-tweaks-guaranteed-to-make-your-game-look-even-better/ Re-adding the uGridsToLoad=7 and GridBuffer sections resolved the issue for me. It sounds like if a setting from your save game doesn't match with a setting from the INI file then Skyrim will crash. If you've followed that guide, modified your INI file or installed mods which have then this might be the first place to start. Hope this helps.
