Great news! Seems everything is coming together at the same time. M.O. getting fixed, skse out in alpha for S.E., hopefully the new nexus mod manager goes off without a hitch as well when it arrives. Thank you Kazuya for the contribution.
Holy crap! I've been out of the loop for over a week (thanks, Irma) and SKSE for SE is really in alpha?! Also, glad to hear the new build for utilizing DX 9 in Win10 is coming along. Thanks for all the updates guys!

Since your previous card(s) were two 760s, I would recommend a GTX 1070. Something along the lines of EVGA's ACX 3.0 Black Edition with 8GB of VRAM. Plenty of oomph for your SE (and just about any other game out there.) 1070s tend to be the best bang-for-your-buck deals out there. Of course, if you can afford the extra scratch, a 1080 would be even nicer.
Sorry about your bad luck with the RX480. I knew they were power-hogs, but I didn't realize they could contribute to frying your mobo!

This one features Pete Hines' responses when grilled about the Creation Club on Twitter. Oh, man. This guy either doesn't have a clue or simply has the biggest pair of blinders on. When a poster asked why he should pay for CC mods when he could download the exact same mods for free, Pete responded: "It's not the same thing. They don't work the same as paid mods." What. The. (this word has been removed in the interest of young ears everywhere)!? Apparently, Pete believes that if the mod, pardon -"mini-DLC" or "content" is made by a modder, pardon -"creator" and hosted by the Creation Club, it is not, in fact, a "mod". (Insert Picard facepalm here.)
"Double-speak" (more commonly known as something that rhymes with "bullwhip") is a guaranteed way to insult and alienate your fan base Bethesda. You BETTER get someone to sit on Mr. Hines before he does irrecoverable damage to your PR. Uhm, might be too late for that actually...

Gopher points out that you can set your Steam NOT to allow updates for your FO4 (and Skyrim) but that might cause issues down the road. What if you need to verify your files?
It's beginning to look like keeping a back-up of your basic Skyrim(s) would be an even better idea now.
What video does he say that in?
There is no setting in Steam for "not allow updates"
"Always keep this game up to date"
"Only update this game when I launch it"
"High Priority - Always auto-update this game before others"
Those are the only 3 options available these days.
The only workaround I can see would be to select the "only update this game when I launch it" option, so it doesn't automatically update when you log onto Steam. If you're going to play Skyrim, you can then go in offline mode and avoid the update. BUT keep in mind that this method won't allow you to use the Steam features that require an internet connection; playing in offline mode doesn't keep track of your hours played, you can't use the browser, and so on.
There's your answer, Darole. Gopher says this in one of the videos above. Sorry I can't remember specifically which one.

You might find this suggestion a bit boring in the long-run but, I recommend trying each of the six separately and playing through to at least level 8 to see how they "feel" to you. If you do decide to try this, I also recommend using Arthmoor's Alternate Start - Live Another Life so that you do not have to keep going through the Helgen scene. Also, I recommend NOT completing Bleak Fall Barrows until you've reached level 8. Finish it then and fight a dragon or two (for the mods that would actually affect the combat) to get a feel for how they (the dragons) work with those mods.
I love Campfire, Frostfall and am somewhat ambivalent concerning Realistic Needs and Diseases. I think RNaD is a fantastic mod, I simply don't like all the nagging in my game.
Oh, I also recommend Winter is Coming SSE - Cloaks. 'Cause, man, those cave bear cloaks are stylin'.

The more I learn about the Craptation, pardon, I meant 'Creation' Club, the more I am becoming alarmed at the possible future of Skyrim. Please see Gopher's newest video (I linked it in an edit to my original post above) about just how very, very bad this is. It's not just a matter of clogging your HD or SSD with files you have no intention of using... -No, it's also about patch updates that might start occurring on a monthly, weekly or even daily basis. Which means your executables for FO4 and Skyrim will be altered. Which (for LE Skyrim at least) means your script extenders stop working properly until they're updated. Do you think we'll see weekly (or even monthly) updates of script extenders for our games?
There's a reason why the internet seems to be gearing up to stomp Bethesda in the PR department as much as it can. And that reason is that the Creation Club is priming itself to wreck our modded games, whether you give a crap about the CC or not.
UPDATE: Bethesda has removed (via a patch for FO4) the requirement that the mod's files be pre-loaded onto your PC's HD. Skyrim's CC has apparently launched with this change already in effect. I still don't like the Creation Club, but I got to give Bethesda kudos for actually responding to fan input (read: screaming) with a change to the CC for the better.

Yes, this is a FO4 only subject matter... -at the moment. But I wanted Skyrim players who may not have heard the news (consisting mainly of agonized wailing, outraged shouting, and groans of disbelief) to get some idea of what is most likely coming their way. The poll is for people who want to vent but don't have enough time to post (or don't trust themselves to post on this subject without descending into language that might get them in trouble.)
So, if you're a FO4 player, you've probably already seen the unveiling of the 'Creation Club'. If not, prepare to be... underwhelmed. And insulted. And contemptuous. And... well, I think you get the idea. Rather than bore you with my droning, pedantic dialogue (and grammar bad enough to cause heart-failure in an English teacher) I will instead refer you to acknowledged experts in the field of games and let them fill you in on all the bad news...

I don't believe I've EVER heard Gopher so... exasperated over a subject. And if you've watched Gopher's videos, you know he's a person who is hard to frustrate. Gopher's analysis of what Bethesda must have been thinking is both in the realms of "laugh-out-loud" and "cringe-worthy" when you realize that he's right. I'm not linking to Jim's video because you KNOW what kind of language he uses. I don't have a problem with that myself, but I don't want to link directly to it from the forums here. Not that it's hard to find his videos, right? Anyway, as you can imagine, Jim goes straight for the jugular vein with his pronouncement of: "It's not 'paid mods' or 'microtransactions', it's BOTH!" I also loved it when he labled Bethesda as "Bethetic".

Sid gets into the nuts-n-bolts issues with the mods from Creation Club and, oh boy, is it very, VERY bad news. Even if he's wrong on some of the issues, what is confirmed so far will have you recoiling from the thought of letting a Creation Club mod anywhere NEAR your save when it's Skyrim's turn. Just a few of the alarming thoughts: Mods pre-loaded onto your computer from the Creation Club (but not activated until you 'buy' them) -whether you want them or not. Mods in the Creation Club causing your free mods to fail to load. This video spells out the problems rather plainly about the Creation Club downloading files onto your HD or SSD, whether you want them or not. Because, unless Bethesda changes the CC soon, it will PATCH those files into your game. It's not optional. You can't have a functional FO4 (and eventually Skyrim) without those files. Okay, I'll try NOT to edit this post any further...
IMPORTANT EDIT: (And now I have to break my semi-promise above.) Bethesda patched FO4 so that the CC mods are no longer pre-loaded onto PCs. Consoles are (presumably) still stuck with it. Skyrim's CC has launched with this change already in place. So at least we (PC users) are not getting files we don't need/want shoved down our throats.
There's a lot more videos out there, but I think these have pretty well covered the scope of the utter train-wreck (not just MY opinion) that is the Creation Club. I dunno. Maybe Bethseda can pull this out of the fire by releasing real DLC-type content quickly. But I doubt it. I have to agree with Gopher, Jim and Sid. This is probably the final nail in the 'Paid Mods' endeavor. I mean, the three of them AGREE that this is highly likely. Think about that. All three of them agree about this. That's really bad news for Bethesda and the Creation Club.

Just keep waiting thats all you can do. There is no point being rude or a debbie downer to anyone, I am sure you can find other things to do with your spare time than discourage people. We are all here waiting for information and nothing more, stop spreading despair instead give them words of encourage- dont sound ungrateful.

Did you remove (not disable - actually un-install) mods? If so, this is a frequent source of crashing as removed mods often leave left-overs in your saves that can cause all sorts of instability.
Have you verified your game files through Steam?
Here are some things you should consider when you add more than a handful of mods:
1) Mod Conflicts. If your Skyrim crashes to the destop (CTD) the moment the loading screen appears, it is very likely you have a mod conflict. Add only one or two mods at a time (and test them) to avoid having to plow through dozens of mods trying to find the one that's causing your game to crash. Also, RTFM. Mod authors WILL tell you what other mods (and/or types of mods) that their mod conflicts with. But that doesn't do you any good if you don't read that info before installing. Sometimes a patch is available to prevent a ctd from happening (or to prevent the mod from conflicting in some other way, like overwriting some scenery and causing weird in-game effects like floating trees and Mammoths raining from the sky. (Yes, that happens.)
2) Overwrites. When NMM installs mods, it will often stop and ask you a question like: "Do you want this mod to install (whatever) over (whatever) that already exists due to (whatever)? with about eight different options. Again, many mod authors will tell you what options to choose when installing their mod. When those instructions are not present, I've found it is usually best to answer "Yes to all" or the equivalent answer offered.
3) Load Order. Load order is literally the order that the mods are loaded into your game. This is just as important as overwrites. A "poor" load order will cause lots of issues ranging from weird in-game effects to CTDs. You can manually alter your load order in the "Plug-In" tab of NMM, but there's a better way. Download LOOT and install it. Point it at your directory where your mods are and let LOOT sort them.

Domeenating Mace of Molag Bol: If you can't avoid killing the Mara's Witness, err... I meant Vigilant of Stendarr, then you might as well get a truly bad-assed weapon for your troubles.
Knight of Molag Bal Armor: For those willing to give themselves to the Daedric side of the Farce, err... I meant Force, then you might as well get yourself a truly bad-assed set of armor.
Molag Bal's Daytra Demons: Or, for the goody-two-shoes, err... I meant righteous, go back to the nearest save before entering the house and simply ignore the house. However, role-play the following: You DID enter the house. When you refused to kill the Vigilant and simply knocked him out, Molag Bal became enraged (I mean more than he normally is) and cursed you by opening the portal that is created by this mod. Now you must close the portal to alleviate the curse. How's that for role-playing?

Are you using mods? If so, list your load order and we'll see if something jumps out at us (other than a giant spider...)
If you're not using any mods, try verifying your Skyrim game files through Steam. You might simply have a corruptions somewhere.

It looks like you may have un-installed some mods. If so, this is probably your problem. Instead of hitting "continue" -see if you can load any specific saves.
Here are some troubleshooting guides. The first one is basic, the second one more advanced:

Not only will LOOT give you a better load order, but it will warn you about mods that need "cleaning" of dirty edits in them. And you can do that with TES5Edit. It's quite simple to use. However, be warned that some mods have INTENTIONAL dirty edits. Cleaning those mods will likely break them. How to know? Simple, the mod author will warn you if his/her mod has deliberate dirty edits.
4 SKSE. SKSE is short for "SKyrim Script Extender." Many popular mods use really cool and helpful interfaces like MCM (Mod Control Menus.) These mods require SKSE to function. Download SKSE and watch Gopher's video (linked in the description at the SKSE site) for what SKSE does exactly and how to install it. Don't worry, Gopher explains it clearly and concisely.
Now here's an advanced guide for troubleshooting your game. Don't try to take it in all at once. Just read it a bit at a time and apply what seems appropriate to your issue(s). If any of this guide helps you, give Darstyler a kudo. It's his guide.

Backup your ini files and delete the files. Skyrim.ini / SkyrimCustom.ini / SkyrimPrefs.ini found in C:\Users\Utilisateur\Documents\My Games\Skyrim then use your vanilla launcher to autodetect and use best settings for your computer.

Start Tes5edit, simply untick everything, (right-click/select none) and add only a tick to the esm/esp you want to check + update.esm, Tesedit knows what to do and will load all the dependencies automatically.
- Begin with loading only Skyrim + update, ITM / UDR + save ctrl +s and close.
- Then load Skyrim + update + Dawnguard, ITM / UDR + ctrl +s and close.
- Then load Skyrim + update + Hearthfire, ITM / UDR + ctrl +s and close.
- Then load Skyrim + update + Dragonborn, ITM / UDR + ctrl +s and close.The method above can be used to clean mods. If I'm correct LOOT should tell you which plugin you should clean. You may load all your mods with Tes5edit and use the (right-click in the left pane) apply filter to show conflict losers. Wait till Tes5edit has finished. Caution : don't try to modify anything while using this filter, it's not intended for.
In the left pane, Expand the subsections and examine conflicts. Once an entry is expanded to the bottom and selected, the right pane shows which mods modify the entry. The last one on the right is the last loaded in your load order and the conflict winner.
Expand the following subsections, depending on where the problems occur. Cells for CTDs inside buildings, grottos, etc... and worldspace for exterior. The goal is to target mods that edit the same places and conflict. Open the bloc note and write those mods.
Once done, close Tes5edit and open each mod with Tesedit, one by one and use the UDR cleaning procedure (Gopher's videos cleaning your masterfiles on the Nexus Tesedit page) to ensure all the deleted references will be transformed in disabled references = no CTDs from this point.
If you suspect a mod in particular, using the conflict looser / winner method above, you can decide to change its load order or uninstall it.

Don't uninstall mods at mid-game, there are no clean save in Skyrim but using save script cleaner can help removing orphan scripts.

Read here, this is potentially a cause of CTD that you can resolve by following the mod procedure on this page.

I think wfandrews has the right idea. Just go ahead and play without SKSE until a reliable beta comes out AND most of your favorite mods have been (re)ported, then start a new game. It's still gonna be awhile, so why not enjoy the game for now?
Quick tip: SkyUI version 2.2 DOES work in SE without SKSE. There's an annoying error message, but some kind souls have pointed out in the comments how you can get rid of that. The only things lacking are the bells and whistles like auto-sort. Still beats the living crap out that horrible vanilla UI.
