Darstyler, you have now become the "Go to" for troubleshooting. Good job!

You can use Amazing Follower Tweaks on any existing game. it has full Werewolf support. You can "program" Aela to transform under certain conditions and fight in certain styles.

Helgen Reborn has specific instructions by the author on how to install it and when (in your game) to activate it. In general, you should only activate mods that require little or no scripting at the start of the game. This is because the wagon ride into Helgen, and Alduin's attack are heavily scripted sequences. Too many script-intensive mods trying to run during the intro sequence will often cause conflicts or fail to run properly. Activate the remaining mods AFTER you complete "Unbound" (exit the cave from under Helgen.) When in doubt, simply activate the basic esms (Skyrim, Dawnguard, Hearthfire, Dragonborn) and the Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch.esp. After completing "Unbound", save, activate a few mods (no more than 10 and any dependencies) then reload. If the game seems to be functioning normally, save and repeat this process until all the mods are activated and the game seems to be running good. If during a reload your game crashes or otherwise glitches, then at least you have the issue narrowed down to a handful of mods. Keep reloading, activating only one of those mods at a time until you hit the problem one. Now read the mod's description VERY carefully. Chances are good you will find the conflict that is causing the problem. If not, submit a bug report to the mod author and simply do without that mod (or find a similar one to replace it.)

Shot in the dark here. Do you have the "Legendary" version of Skyrim? If so, have you replaced the old "unofficial" patches with the new USLEEP master patch? -
How about a damng ending this time around?!
LeddBate replied to ThalmorHighKingQueenDLC's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
There was no "ending" DLC for much the same reason many do not like the thought of a Hollywood movie based on Skyrim. Because it would not cover 99.99% of the story lines that each player generates in their playthrough. TESVI (Whatever it ends up being... Valenwood? Maybe. Right now that's just all rumor) will "fill in" the timeline with what happened with the civil war, the dragons, etc. -much the same way you gradually learn what happened after TESIV Oblivion via books, NPC stories, etc. However, the Last Dragonborn (much like the "Hero of Kvatch") will mysteriously disappear after the main events of Skyrim. This way, Bethesda can set up TESVI anyway it needs to do so. Bare in mind that I'm NOT arguing with you. I would have loved a DLC after Dragonborn that allowed you to return to Skyrim and "sew up loose ends". Perhaps by either putting Ulfric, Elisif or Balgruuf on the throne by completing a quest (after the civil war) that culminated in the assembling of the jarls for the Moot. An option to advance yourself as high king would also have been nice. Perhaps with the added complication of the Thalmor now realizing that they've lost control in Skyrim and (worried over the activities of the Last Dragonborn) decide that maybe the time to strike is now, while Skyrim is weakened by the recent warfare. Who knows. Maybe a team of modders will do something like that. We've already seen DLC-sized mods in the form of Moonpath to Elsewyr, Wyrmstooth and Falskaar. One of the big obstacles would be voice acting, of course. But you could get around that by simply using subtitles. As for the remastered version, I like the thought of it. Console fans will finally get the beauty of the game that we PC users have taken for granted for five years now. Mods, on consoles! Imagine that. -
Hmmm. The only thing I can think of is that your browser settings may be causing the issue. Maybe something like a no-script blocker in your browser? You should be able to: A): Click "Quote" to reply to a single post or, B): Click "MultiQuote" for each post you want to reply to then click the "Reply to x quoted posts(s)" (where "x" equals the number of "MultiQuote" you've clicked.) Try a different browser. I'm using Firefox. A lot of people swear by Chrome also. If you're using some sort of script/ad blocker, be sure to set it to allow functions (give permissions) to the forums here.

Geforce GTX 1080 - NVIDIA Pascal
LeddBate replied to Fatalmasterpiece's topic in Hardware and software discussion
That is a good deal for a 980ti. Very tempting. But I'll follow your advice and wait to see what happens when the custom cooler models of the 1080 and 1070 have been out awhile. -
Are you LOOTing your load order? Are you cleaning with TESVedit where indicated? Also, if you've been uninstalling a lot of mods, you may have borked your game saves and the crashing is just a symptom of the building instability. If you haven't already done so, I recommend reading Skyrim Project Stability by GrandBulwark.

If looks like NMM is still trying to find data in the old directory despite your clean install. Not certain though. What's your O.S.? Because if it is NOT Win 10, and you are trying to install/run the latest NMM, then I think your suspicions about .NET framework are correct.

I'm not familiar with the mod, but you can try the basics. Check mod's description to make sure you haven't missed downloading any dependencies. For example, does the mod require/suggest SKSE, or SkyUI? Also, sort with LOOT if you haven't already done so. Clean mod with TESVEdit if indicated. (Unless mod author specifically warns you not to.) If none of that works, time to try some troubleshooting. If you're using NMM, then this won't be too hard. Go to your "Plugins" tab and un-tick all mods EXCEPT Dawnguard.esm, HearthFires.esm, Dragonborn.esm, Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch.esp, the HighRes Texture Packs (if you have them) and SkyUI.esp. Now, enable the Kitsune mod (and any dependencies it requires) and start a new game. If the model tail functions correctly, save, quit out, then re-enable 10 plug-ins. Load back in. If the tail still works, enable another 10 plug-ins. When the tail stops working, then you know you have a conflict in the last ten mod you enabled. Narrow it down to find which one. Now manually place the Kitsune mod after the other mod in your load order to see if that corrects the problem. If the Kitsune mod fails to work before enabling any other mods, try re-installing the mod. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info. So, you don't believe that the release of the 1080 will cause any significant price drop on the 980s shortly thereafter? Darn. I don't have any problem with MSI's products, just their customer service. As I said, it's personal. I'm sure most other folks have had great experience with MSI. I simply don't want to deal with them anymore. -
It is possible to have a subscription to Steam Workshop mods AND mods added/handled by NMM at the same time in you game, but there is a much higher chance of conflicts. I'd recommend going with one or the other only. I prefer NMM. As for the mods on Steam that you cannot find on the Nexus, -If you look closely you can probably find similar mods that will nicely replace the Workshop mods. Edited for spelling, 'cause I'm an idiot...

Mechwarrior 3. You basically custom fitted your entire 'mech (and later in the campaign, your entire lance's 'mechs) between every mission. Sorting through your accumulated salvage to tweak your 'mech(s) into the ultimate machines throughout the campaign was incredibly addicting. Hint: Pulse lasers. ALWAYS pulse lasers...

A "Lunar Lander" type game on a TRS-80 in.... 1978... I think. Does that count? Regardless, I think bben46 has us all beat. (I mean, a punchcard for crying out loud...)

How long (after the release of the 1080, 1070, etc.) before you folks think we will see a significant drop in the price on the 980 and 980ti? Although my rig is last-gen (mobo, cpu and RAM), It still has plenty of umph for a GPU upgrade to be practical. But I'm not willing to shell out $600+ for a 980ti. Yes, I've seen the MSI offering for $550. -but I'm leery of them (just personal reasons.) I'd rather EVGA or GIGABYTE. -
There are several mods available on the Nexus to "repair" Whiterun after the battle (some even fix Heimskr's house.) However, be careful. Some of them don't play well with other mods. Read them all thoroughly to see which one might work well with your set of mods.

Shivala is right. Even without mods, the game's random encounters can trigger interesting sequences of events. My personal favorite was the time I was trying to tip-toe my way through the midst of an Empire/Stormcloak battle (I hadn't chosen sides yet) only to have a Thalmor hit-squad jump on me just as I started to clear the battle area. The nearby Stormcloaks immediately turned to attack the Thalmor. Then a pack of four werewolves burst out of the trees and attacked everyone! You just can't script events that entertaining. Just think about all the bragging you can do back at the Sleeping Giant about how you were the only one left alive after two giants, a mammoth, a sabre cat and two dead dragons.

Oh, I agree. Honestly, I was just being a smart-aleck. Seriously though, I like Convenient Horses because the MCM menu lets you adjust everything about the horses. So for people who want just a tad more galloping, or horses that (sensibly) stay the hell out of your way in combat, CH is great for making those tweaks. EDIT: To quote other people's posts, just hit the "Quote" button you see on the lower right-hand side of each post. Just experiment a bit and you'll see how it works.

Specifically, what DLCs (if any) you have and a list of your mods. Mod order would help also.

Argh, missed this by a couple of weeks... Dragonborn Act II is now out. As usual, if you don't like skyrim-based machinima because it doesn't follow your play-through (and how could it anyway?) then don't bother. But, if you like good machinima for it's own sake, then this is pretty good. My only two nitpicks are that some of the closeups showed the bad textures in some spots, and the whole "cleaning out the forsworn" scene was rather awkward because Yongyea didn't have any lines to use for Delphine and Esbern.

After completing "The Jagged Crown" but BEFORE you give it to the side you started the quest for, you should be able to take the crown to the OTHER side, thus allying yourself with them. This is supposed to be the last point in which you can choose sides. (The first one being following either Ralof or Hadavar into Helgen Keep. The second one being going to either Solitude or Windhelm and taking the oath.) If you can't give the crown to Tullius, then something has gone wrong with your game. A few possibilities: 1) Make sure you have the "Unofficial Skyrim Patch" installed. If you have Dawnguard and/or Hearthfire and/or Dragonborn installed, be sure that you have the "Unofficial" patches for them installed as well. 2) The following assumes you are using NMM. Try unchecking all the mod plug-ins that you have (except for the "Unofficial" patches mentioned above) and reload the save just before you talk to Tullius. See if he accepts the crown then. If so, then you have a mod conflict. Try re-enabling a few mods at a time and reloading the save. When Tullius no longer accepts the crown, you can now narrow it down to which specific mod(s) are causing the problem.

I've never played the Dark Brotherhood questline, so I don't know exactly what Titus Mede said to the PC (who may, or may not, be aware of his or her potential to be DB if you used "Live Another Life") when the PC confronts Mede in his flagship during the final assassination quest (the first attempt on Mede being foiled by a ringer.) But the gist of Mede's final words to the PC seems to be: "Yeah, this is necessary for the Empire to continue now..." Probably the last play (or optional play) of a long line of strategy he had to preserve the Empire against the AD. Mede seems (seemed) to take the long view, willing to shamelessly stack the deck in favor of his long-term strategy. As any good commander should. No one should ever try to pick "a fair fight". Back to the Ulfric's capture at the start of the game: I believe that Ulfric and his personal guard were indeed being transported to Cyrodiil via the Southern border gate not too far from Fort Neugrad. But they had a long way to go to get there (Ralof mentions that they were originally ambushed at Darkwater Crossing) and Thalmor field agents (or spies) clearly detected them and sent word to Elenwen. An Imperial convoy consisting of several wagons, a handful of horses and the rest of the Legionnaires on foot, wouldn't be moving that quickly, especially if they were attempting to maintain secrecy by staying off the main-roads as much as possible. Elenwen probably got word of the convoy rather quickly and moved even quicker to seal the border off. Remember, the Thalmor have access to LOTS of high-level mages. Given the amount of magic that the PC acquires (especially if he/she opts to be a mage) it isn't hard to imagine that Elenwen could maneuver forces into position to block Tullius from getting Ulfric out of Skyrim cleanly. Tullius most likely had a few scouts on horseback ahead of the convoy -and once they detected the Thalmor presence at the Southern border and reported back to him, being no fool, (arrogant, yes -fool, no) quickly turned the convoy around and headed for the nearest Imperial held city to carry out "Plan B" ("A little off the top, me Lord?") He probably left a blocking force behind him of many of his foot troops to prevent Thalmor Justicars from moving up from the border gate. He also likely sent riders ahead to Helgen to alert the Imperial troops stationed there what was coming towards them. This could explain why the convoy was so reduced in size when you (the PC) wake up whilst heading towards Helgen and why the remaining legionnaires seem on edge ("Shut up, back there!"). Note also that the path you are on leads away from the Fort Neugard area (and the border gate) along one of the auxiliary roads. Also, the attitude of the Imperial Captain overseeing the execution ("Forget the list, he goes to the block.") becomes a little more understandable (not forgivable, just understandable) when you realize she probably had less than an hour's warning that the ranking general of the Imperial forces in Skyrim, along with Imperial Enemy Number One were on the way, and she had only that much time to arrange a mass execution. In her place, I certainly would have been on edge. Elenwen, keeping tabs on the convoy (by magical means most likely) realized that Tullius was on to her and that she couldn't simply confront the convoy now (especially with an Imperial force between her Justicars and the convoy) rushed to Helgen, most likely deducing (correctly) what Tullius intended. Or maybe she didn't even suspect what was going to happen at Helgen. Regardless, her only chance to keep Ulfric "in play" now was to try to deal with Tullius at Helgen. You, as the PC, saw the confrontation between Tullius and Elenwen (and it certainly looked like a confrontation.) Tullius was clearly pissed by the time you're marched off the wagons and determined to quickly "put down" the rebellion. The rest you know. Finally, as to the topic of what happens to the LDB after his confrontation with Miraak -well, there's lots of folks who have pointed out (correctly, IMO) that whatever happens in TES V, the LDB won't be specifically mentioned (at least in any more detail than "The hero of Kvatch") because that's the only way Bethesda can set things up for TES VI without having a lot of historical baggage to deal with. And that's as it should be. However, on a strictly personal basis, there's a LOT that happens to MY LDB after the events of Dragonborn. Don't bother telling me "You're wrong because (reasons)". Each and every one of us plays (and will play) this game and write OUR OWN history into it. I've got my own version of what happens between my LDB and Mora-squid. It isn't to either of our liking, but lets just say things work out for me a bit better than they did for Miraak. I go on to do a lot of other quests (mods) and tend to write my own "epilogue" based on those adventures. I think I've gone over this elsewhere -maybe even here somewhere back in this monster thread (honestly, I never realized how long this would go on...) But my point is: No matter what the "official" version of the game says, this is YOUR game now. YOUR story -and no one can tell you what will happen to you in your version of Skyrim. Want to go with the Stormcloaks and drive out the Empire, then the Thalmor? Fine. Go with the Empire, get Balgruff crowned as high-king and restore Skyrim as a staunch Imperial ally/province? Done. Be High-King yourself? Go for it. (Actually, there's a mod for that...) Doesn't matter what the "official" history will be. This is your story. Make of it what you will.

I am currently considering between GTX 970 and a R9 390 (Nitro) myself. I am leaning towards the 390 because of the 8GB of DDR5 memory buffer. Yes, I know that's way more than you need for any game currently out there (even the Witcher 3) but I like to mod a lot of my games heavily. And as others have pointed out above, many mods do not use VRAM efficiently. -So, the more mem buffer you have, the better if you mod heavily. The memory issue with the 970 will only effect you if you mod heavily, and even then the slowdown is liable to be in the single digits of FPS difference. I don't know PSUs very well, but I do know that you should always seek one with an 80+ bronze (or better) rating. A wattage of 550 will suffice to run any single card setup below a Titan. 650 watts will run almost any conceivable two card setup. 800+ watts is pretty much overkill unless you're running tri-SLI 980ti's or something similar.
